RIDE VEHICLE PASSENGER TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A passenger transfer system in accordance with present embodiments includes a mobile chair having a base portion with a plurality of wheels and a chair portion configured to support a passenger. The passenger transfer system further includes an elevation adjustment system and a transfer device. The elevation adjustment system is configured to adjust a height of the chair portion relative to the base portion. The transfer device is configured to extend laterally from an edge of the chair portion. The transfer device is further configured to support the passenger as the passenger transfers from the chair portion to a ride seat of a ride vehicle of an attraction of an amusement park.
Patient support system
Embodiments of the invention thus define a system and methods for moving a patient into a medical treatment/imaging apparatus. By appropriate use of relatively narrow guides, a bed can be held securely both prior to movement onto the apparatus and while on the apparatus. By use of relatively wide guides, the bed is allowed a degree of lateral play to ensure a smooth transition on to the apparatus.
Elevatable and portable wheelchair
A wheelchair includes a lower assembly including a lower frame having wheels rotatably mounted thereto, an upper assembly including an upper frame supporting a seat, a backrest and at least one movable armrest, and a lift mechanism configured to move the upper assembly relative to the lower assembly between a lowered position and a raised position, wherein a user can move sideways out of the seat in the raised position with the movable armrest lowered.
PORTABLE AND COLLAPSIBLE SUPPORT STRUCTURES AND RELATED METHODS
A reconfigurable portable load bearing structure which can be configured into an extended load bearing configuration or a collapsed configuration, comprising of a first, second and third plurality of rail segments that are each rotatably coupled together and a plurality of support segments or pads which are configured to selectively couple and latch into one of a plurality of positions on said first, second and third plurality of rail segments.
Spinal immobilization device, system, and method of use
A spinal immobilization device including a base member and a spinal support member configured to overlay the base member. The base member includes an elongate board having a curvate top surface, a plurality of openings surrounding at least a portion of the elongate board, and a channel defined within the top surface. The spinal support member may include a bladder, a valve controlling passage of fluid into the bladder, and a plurality of fluid absorbing members within the bladder. The channel defines an impression within the top surface that matches a shape of a portion of the bladder.
Transfer and weighing device
There is provided an apparatus to weigh a patient comprising a patient transfer board configured to support a patient in a supine position comprising at least 8 transducers, each transducer being provided 300 mm or less from another transducer. The transducers are provided at three or more positions across the width of the patient transfer board; wherein more than 45% of the transducers are provided 100 mm or less from an outer boundary of the patient transfer board.
SPINAL IMMOBILIZATION DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF USE
A spinal immobilization device including a base member and a spiral support member configured to overlay the base member. The base member includes an elongate board having a curvate top surface, a plurality of openings surrounding at least a portion of the elongate board, and a channel defined within the top surface. The spiral support member may include a bladder, a valve controlling passage of fluid into the bladder, and a plurality of fluid absorbing members within the bladder. The channel defines an impression within the top surface that matches a shape of a portion of the bladder.
Patient Transferring Bed Assembly
A patient transferring bed assembly includes hospital bed that has a mattress deck and a plurality of legs. A gurney is provided that includes a mattress panel and a plurality of legs. The gurney is positionable in a transferring position having the mattress panel being positioned adjacent to and being oriented coextensive with the mattress deck on the hospital bed. A mattress is slidably coupled to the mattress panel on the gurney and a patient lies on the mattress. The mattress slidably engages the mattress deck on the hospital bed when the gurney is positioned in the transferring position and the mattress is urged to slide laterally onto the mattress deck. In this way the mattress transfers the patient from the gurney to the hospital bed without requiring the patient to be lifted.
Mobile platform and related methods
Implementations of mobile platforms for assisting a person with a physical disability may include a base coupled to a motor and a deck coupled to a base, wherein the motor is configured to move the deck along the base. The mobile platform may also include a controller coupled with the motor that is configured to direct the motor that moves the deck over the base to a first position to allow a user to sit on a first seating device resting on the deck and to direct the movement of the deck to a second position different from the first position to allow a user to sit on a second seating device resting on the deck, wherein the first seating device and the second seating device are each configured to seat a human.
PERSON TRANSFER DEVICE
A transfer device is used to help a person move from one seated position at a first location to another seated position at a second location. The device is particularly useful for persons who cannot use their legs because the device is structurally supported to allow the person using the device to support himself by his arms and upper body muscles. The device is supported by the floor joists disposed below the floor. The person can have multiple support frames installed at different locations in his house so that the device can be moved from place to place as needed. Each location only requires a small hole to be cut in the floor with the unused holes being closed by plugs. The device allows the person to place his feet on a pivot disc while bracing his knees or shins against a knee board. The person then grasps handgrips and secures his forearms in an arm support assembly and lifts his lower body out of the first location. Another assistant rotates the device to align the person with the second seat wherein the person can lower himself into the second seat.
