An information processing apparatus according to some non-limiting embodiments includes: a detection unit that detects biometric information of a person from a captured image being input; a first determination unit that determines, based on the captured image, whether or not a condition for starting a determination process of whether or not the person is permitted to pass through a gate is satisfied; a matching unit that matches the biometric information with a registered biometric information in parallel with the process of the first determination unit; and a second determination unit that executes the determination process based on a determination result by the first determination unit and a matching result by the matching unit.

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for integrating healthcare screening with other identity-based functions. In general, components facilitating healthcare screening interoperate with and/or are integrated into other systems, including facility access, identity, time keeping, payroll, etc. Aspects of the invention include using facial recognition to improve healthcare screening and satisfy governmental regulations. A thermal scanner can include a camera and an InfraRed (IR) camera. The thermal scanner can collect a facial image and derive a temperature for a person (e.g., from an IR image). The thermal scanner can also collect or access previously collected healthcare screening questionnaire answers. The collected temperate and healthcare screening questionnaire answers can be used to control access to the facility. For example, the person can be denied access when the collected temperature exceeds a defined temperate threshold and/or healthcare screening questionnaire answers indicate the person may be sick.

A first user can indicate a first trait of a visitor via a first remote computing device. The first user can create a user group to enable the members of the user group to use their doorbells to take pictures of suspicious visitors and to send the pictures of the suspicious visitors to other members of the user group.

An electronic device having a camera thereon takes a photograph of the photograph on the identification card. The electronic device takes a picture of individual offering the identification card for access to the venue. The electronic device verifies the authenticity of the identification card. The electronic device having circuitry and software which determines a match, low match or no match between the individual in the photograph on the identification card and the photograph of the individual presenting the identification card, for entry into the venue.

Further, embodiments can compare a captured image to an authenticated image from a database, so as to confirm the identity of a vehicle occupant.

Access control system and method to distinguish between tailgate and piggyback. The method includes receiving, from a camera positioned at an access point, one or more images of a first person at the access point and determining based on credential information whether the first person is authorized to enter through the access point. In response to determining that the first person is authorized to enter through the access point, the method includes determining, based on a consent-to-follow gesture of the first person detected in the one or more images, a number of guests of the first person requested to enter through the access point. The method also includes determining, based on the one or more images, a number of persons entering through the access point and generating an alert indicating unauthorized entry when the number of persons is greater than the number of guests.

Technologies for enabling efficient check in operations for hotels include a compute device. The compute device includes circuitry configured to receive a request to check in a guest at a hotel without a human front desk operator present at the hotel. The circuitry is further configured to verify an identity of the guest, obtain payment, from the guest, for reservation of a room of the hotel and provide, to the guest and in response to obtaining payment for reservation of the room, a key to the room of the hotel.

The present disclosure includes embodiments for restricting or varying digital access or digital functionality based on health data. In one example, a method to vary functionality for an application is disclosed. The method includes receiving health data corresponding to a health status of a user, determining that the health status does not satisfy a health standard for an organization, and disabling at least one function for an application communicating with one or more devices of the organization based on the health status.
