ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device may include at least one electronic circuit configured to selectively provide at least one function, an interface configured to receive from a source external to the electronic device instructions including a device identification and at least one usage measurement parameter, and a secure element configured to receive the instructions from the interface, to process the instructions, and to modify the at least one function based on a processing result.
Card-type device and payment method
Provided is a first mobile device having a card shape, the first mobile device including a storage unit configured to store one or more pieces of card payment information; a payment information transmission unit configured to transmit at least one of the one or more pieces of card payment information in a contact or contactless manner to a payment terminal; and a controller configured to determine whether the first mobile device is in a detached state with respect to a second mobile device or a cover of the second mobile device, and to determine whether to transmit the at least one of the one or more pieces of card payment information, based on the determination of whether the first mobile device is in the detached state.
TRANSACTION CARD UTILIZING VOICE-ACTIVATED COMMANDS
A transaction card receives sound waves that represent a user command, where the user command identifies one or more transaction restrictions of the transaction card. The transaction card converts the sound waves to a digital signal and identifies, based on an analysis of the digital signal, user command data that identifies the user command. The transaction card sets, based on identifying the user command data, one or more transaction restriction values for the one or more transaction restrictions. The transaction card receives transaction metadata associated with a transaction and determines whether the transaction is compliant with the one or more transaction restrictions. The transaction card causes, based on determining whether the transaction is compliant with the one or more transaction restrictions, the transaction to be processed by a server device, or to be declined.
DONGLES AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A DIGITAL SIGNATURE
Set of two or more dongles for providing a digital signature, wherein each dongle holds a secret key, wherein each dongle is configured to receive a message, to compute a digital signature of the received message using the secret key, and to transmit the computed digital signature, wherein at least one of the dongles is configured to, before computing the digital signature, verify the presence of at least one other dongle belonging to the set, and to compute the digital signature only upon successful verification of the presence of one or more other dongles.
CONTROL DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD OF CONTROL DEVICE, AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE
An information processing device includes a display control unit that, when at least one NFC antenna has performed close-range wireless communication, effects a display of a communication prompter image that indicates the position of an NFC antenna which is different from the at least one NFC antenna and that prompts for close-range wireless communication with the different NFC antenna.
Authenticating a payment card
An approach is provided for authenticating a payment card. Information is read from the payment card being used for a purchase. The information includes an identifier and data on a chip, in braille cells, and in markings in the payment card. A hash read from the chip, the identifier, and security codes derived from the braille cells and the markings are sent to a payment system. A hash of an (n+1)-th block of a blockchain is received and recorded in the chip in response to validations of the hash as matching a hash of an n-th block of the blockchain, the identifier, and the first and second security codes, and a generation of the hash of the (n+1)-th block. Data about the purchase and the hash of the (n+1)-th block are sent to the payment system.
DUAL INTERFACE SMART CARD AND METHOD FOR FORMING A DUAL INTERFACE SMART CARD
A dual interface smart card having a smart card body, a contact-based interface for contact-based communications, a first security chip which is arranged in the smart card body and is electrically conductively coupled to the contact-based interface, a fingerprint sensor arranged in the smart card body, a second security chip, which is coupled to the fingerprint sensor and is configured to carry out a fingerprint verification by means of fingerprint signals detected by the fingerprint sensor, and an antenna coupled to the second security chip.
Multi-faced payment card with partitioned dual smart chips and antennae
The disclosed embodiments provide a payment card. The payment card may have a first face and a second face opposite the first. Additionally, the payment card may comprise a first smart chip, the first smart chip having contacts that are electronically accessible from the first face of the card. The payment card may further comprise a first antenna coupled to the first smart chip, the first antenna providing near-field contactless access to the first smart chip and a second smart chip, the second smart chip having contacts that are electronically accessible from the second face of the card. Additionally, the payment card may comprise a second antenna coupled to the second smart chip, the second antenna providing near-field contactless access to the second smart chip and an RF block that electronically isolates the first antenna and the second antenna from each other.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR SAMPLING DIAMONDS TO DEVELOP A MULTI-DIMENSIONAL SPACE STRUCTURE
The application describes generation of a data structure that enables comparison of any diamond to any other diamond. The data structure is generated via a sampling process and a computer system for acquisition of diamonds of a valid statistical sample having a predefined sample size. The process comprises tabulating the frequencies that diamonds of various grade combinations are available in an overall population of diamonds, then using a bidding process described herein to acquire a valid statistical sample of diamonds. The data for the sample of diamonds are then inputted into a Linear Programming and Mixed-Integer optimizer configured to sort all diamonds of the sample into sets with a median that is a minimal distance from the median on a scarcity basis, subject to various constraints, such as the number of diamonds in each set and a minimum total carat weight.
