DEVICES AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING EMERGENCY INFORMATION USING A PAYMENT CARD
20210294990 · 2021-09-23 ·

A card for storing both emergency information and payment information is disclosed. The card can be used by an emergency responder to retrieve emergency information for the user. The emergency information can enable the emergency responder to better render aid to the user. The card can have one or more processors, a sensor, and a memory in communication with the one or more processors and storing an application thereon. The application can cause the card to receive a request from a user device (e.g., from an emergency medical technician, or EMT) to access emergency information stored in the memory, transmit a security challenge to the user device, authenticate a received response to the security challenge from the user device, and transmit the emergency information to the user device.

Radio frequency-based self-enrolment and data exchange methods for biometric smart cards and non-self-powered authentication devices
11126995 · 2021-09-21 ·

The present invention relates to transfer methods of wireless power to non-self-powered biometric authentication devices through far-field radio waves coming from a nearby self-powered radio frequency device. By default, the non-self-powered biometric authentication device of the invention is made of a far-field radio microwave antenna, an antenna tuner, a RF-to-DC power rectifier and power converter functions. The transfer methods of wireless power to non-self-powered biometric authentication devices of the invention are particularly well-suited for self-enrollment of one user's identity on biometric smart cards but can also be applied for subsequent data exchange such as peer-to-peer money transfer.

COMPUTER-BASED SYSTEMS AND METHODS CONFIGURED FOR ONE OR MORE TECHNOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS FOR AUTHORIZING A CREDIT CARD FOR USE BY A USER

A configured application for authorizing a credit card by a user and a method that may include receiving an electronic request to pair a mobile device associated with a user with a credit card of the user. The credit card may include a location tracking circuitry to remotely communicate a location of the credit card to a remote electronic recipient. The location of the credit card may be received by a processor from the remote electronic recipient. A proximity multi-factor authentication may verify that the user is an authorized user of the credit card. The mobile device associated with the user may be paired with the credit card of the user after verifying that the user is the authorized user. The processor may receive the location of the credit card paired with the mobile device from the remote electronic recipient. The location of the credit card may be displayed on a display of the mobile device associated with the user.

DONGLES AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A DIGITAL SIGNATURE

Set of two or more dongles for providing a digital signature, wherein each dongle holds a secret key, wherein each dongle is configured to receive a message, to compute a digital signature of the received message using the secret key, and to transmit the computed digital signature, wherein at least one of the dongles is configured to, before computing the digital signature, verify the presence of at least one other dongle belonging to the set, and to compute the digital signature only upon successful verification of the presence of one or more other dongles.

Chip card

A chip card is provided. The chip card can have a metal layer in which an opening is formed and a slot that extends from one edge of the opening to the outer edge of the metal layer, a booster antenna structure, arranged in the opening, having an antenna section for electromagnetically coupling to the metal layer and having a coupling region for electromagnetically coupling to an antenna structure of a chip module, and the chip module, which is arranged in the coupling region, having the antenna structure arranged on the chip module.

CONTEXTUAL TAPPING ENGINE

Various embodiments for contextual tapping engines. For example, an application executing on a computing device may authenticate credentials associated with an account and detect a tap of a contactless card to the computing device. The application may receive, from a communications interface of the contactless card, action data used to determine an action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device. The application may determine a context of the application based on a current output of the application. The application may determine, based on the action data, the determined context, and data associated with the account, a first action associated with the tap of the contactless card to the computing device, the first action associated with at least one of the application and an operating system (OS). The application may initiate performance of the first action based on the tap of the contactless card.

Hybrid computerized mobile transaction card

A computerized transaction card is provided and includes a plastic form factor resembling a credit card, the form factor including all or a combination of a magnetic stripe, a euro-pay master card and visa (EMV) chip, and or a near field communication (NFC) chip, a micro-controller powered by a rechargeable battery, at least one wireless chip set for sending and receiving data over a local wireless network; and, an interactive display screen for displaying information to a card operator.

Enabling card and method and system using the enabling card in a POS

The invention relates to an enabling card as well as a system and method for completing a financial transaction in a P.O.S. terminal comprising: a processor carried by the enabling card for: establishing a connection with a mobile device; receiving secure information from a mobile device and generating a digital signal; a coil carried by the enabling card for generating a magnetic field in response to the digital signal to simulate the swipe of card in the P.O.S. terminal and complete the financial transaction.

EXTENDED PAYMENT INSTRUMENT
20210133756 · 2021-05-06 ·

Apparatus and methods are provided for a donor to extend funds and/or a line-of-credit from a personal account to a donee. The donor may provide donor credentials to the donee. The donor credentials may be added to a payment instrument of the donee. Adding the donor credentials to the donee payment instrument may extend the donee payment instrument. The donor may impose restrictions on using the donor credentials. For example, the donee may only use the donor credentials at specific places and for purchases within category limits. In some embodiments, when a donee exceeds a limit associated with donor credentials, an alert is sent to the donor. The alert notifies the donor and requests authorization for the donee to continue using the donor credentials.

Distributed Tokenization Using Several Substitution Steps
20210073414 · 2021-03-11 ·

A method for distributed tokenization of sensitive strings of characters, such as social security numbers, credit card numbers and the like, in a local server is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of receiving from a central server at least one, and preferably at least two, static token lookup tables, and receiving a sensitive string of characters. In a first tokenization step, a first sub string of characters is substituted with a corresponding first token from the token lookup table(s) to form a first tokenized string of characters, wherein the first sub string of characters is a substring of the sensitive string of characters. Thereafter, in a second step of tokenization, a second sub string of characters is substituted with a corresponding second token from the token lookup table(s) to form a second tokenized string of characters, wherein the second substring of characters is a substring of the first tokenized string of characters. Optionally, one or more additional tokenization steps is/are used.
