The various embodiments disclosed herein relate to wheelchair systems for transporting a mobility-challenged passenger onto an aircraft and transfer that passenger into an aircraft seat. The implementations include systems with lift systems, belt systems, and/or transfer ramps.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR BODY WEIGHT SUPPORT SYSTEM
20200038281 · 2020-02-06 · ·

An apparatus includes a drive mechanism, a patient support mechanism, and an electronic system. The drive mechanism is included in a trolley and is configured to suspend the trolley from a support track. The drive mechanism includes a first sensor configured to sense an operating condition of the drive mechanism. The patient support mechanism couples to the trolley and includes a tether and a second sensor. The tether can be operatively coupled to a patient such that the patient support mechanism supports the patient. The second sensor is configured to sense an operating condition of the patient support mechanism. The electronic system is included in the trolley and has at least a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to define a gait characteristic of the patient based at least in part on a signal received from the first sensor and a signal received from the second sensor.

BATH TRANSFER CHAIR
20190350411 · 2019-11-21 ·

A transfer apparatus for receiving the chair seat of a wheelchair and supporting the chair seat in the base of a washing enclosure. The transfer apparatus has a chair support member including a chair support track section that can be positioned in the washing enclosure base, a bridge portion with a bridge track section that is movably mounted to the chair support member. The transfer apparatus includes a lock system usable to secure the bridge portion in an in-use position and engaged with the wheelchair. A first lock inhibits rotational motion of the bridge portion. The first lock includes a retractable locking member that is biased to an extended, locking position. A second lock is usable to prevent longitudinal separation of the bridge portion and the wheelchair. The first and second lock can be automatically engaged when the bridge portion is moved to the in-use position.

Lifting bar and lifting bar connector

A patient lift connector for attaching and detaching a patient lifting bar to a load supporting member in a patient lifting system is described. The connector includes a connector body including a connecting block configured to be fixedly attached to the patient lifting bar. The connector also includes a pin holder coupled to the load supporting member and configured to be inserted through the connector body and into the connecting block, and an attachment latch secured to the connector body and configured to move between an open position and a closed position within the connector body. When the attachment latch moves from the closed position to the open position, the pin holder is allowed to be inserted into the connecting block and thereby allow the lifting bar to be attached to the load supporting member.

Patient bed having active motion exercise

A patient support apparatus may include a frame and an articulated deck coupled to the frame. The articulated deck may include a head section, a seat section, a thigh section, and a foot section. The seat section may include a stationary frame coupled to the frame and a moveable frame that moves relative to the stationary frame. The moveable frame may move between a retracted position and an extended position.

Patient support apparatus with lift mechanism

A patient support apparatus supports a patient and includes a litter. A base is disposed below the litter. A lift mechanism is configured to move the litter and the base relative to one another between extended and collapsed positions. The lift mechanism includes first and second frame assemblies each including an outer frame member and an inner frame member arranged to move within the outer frame member. First and second rollers and first and second slide members are disposed between the outer and inner frame members. The first and second rollers are arranged to roll along at least one of the outer and inner frame members with a load exerted on the lift mechanism from the litter. The first and second slide members are arranged to slide along at least one of the outer and inner frame members with a load exerted on the lift mechanism from the base.

Lift assist chair

A seat on a lift assist chair pivots between a lowered position in which a user can sit in the chair, and a raised position in which a seated user is helped out of the chair and into a standing position. A pair of arms is operatively attached to the seat. Responsive to the application of a user-applied downward force, the arms pivot about an axis thereby causing the seat to pivot between the lowered position and the raised position. First and second counterweights are also connected to the arms, and are axially adjustable relative to the axis about which the arms pivot. This movement permits the user to selectively alter the moment of the pivotable arms.

A wheelchair includes a removable seat assembly that slides laterally sideways to either side of the wheelchair for assisting a seated wheelchair occupant onto a receiving seat, such as a vehicle seat.

LIFE CART

Powered patient transport/support apparatusessuch as medical beds, gurneys, and surgical tables, that include various modifications to existing equipment which provide the caregiver a more efficient way to provide transport care to the patient. Telescoping arm systems, counterweight stability units, and zero-turn chassis give the caregiver the ability to move a patient without any additional assistance, thus reducing potential injury and secondary errors. Touchscreen monitors coupled with other vital sign monitoring equipment give the caregiver real in-time assessment of patient's condition while in transit. Rechargeable batteries are charged and stored on the docking station for easy access. Sensors detect proper weight distribution and adjust to provide stability to the patient when being moved from one place to another. Drone capabilities are available for the military version to actively search out wounded soldiers in the field without having to put more soldiers on the ground. Autoclave drawers are used for sanitation purposes on the Surgical Center to ensure all equipment gets properly cleaned before, during, and after an invasive procedure.
