REGISTRATION DEVICE, METHOD CARRIED OUT BY REGISTRATION DEVICE, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A registration device includes a shelf including a sensor and on which a commodity is placed, a camera configured to capture an image of a first area and a second area outside the first area, and a processor configured to start tracking of a customer who has entered the second area from outside based on the image captured by the camera, determine whether the commodity is taken from the shelf based on changes in weight measured by the sensor, upon determining that the commodity has been taken, determine whether the tracked customer performs a particular action within the first area, upon determining that the tracked customer has performed the particular action, determine whether the customer has entered the second area, and upon determining that the customer has entered the second area, register the taken commodity as a commodity being purchased by the customer.
STORE SYSTEM, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD
A first server (100) includes: a store-entry management unit (102) that, when acquiring first individual determination information about a customer who enters a store, generates second individual determination information for a second system separated from a first system for managing customer information, and stores the acquired first individual determination information and the generated second individual determination information in association with each other in a storage unit; a transmission unit (104) that transmits the second individual determination information to the second system; an acquisition unit (106) that acquires, from the second system, the second individual determination information and purchase product information being information about a product to be purchased by the customer; and an output unit (108) that determines the first individual determination information associated with the acquired second individual determination information, and outputs the first individual determination information and the purchase product information to a payment unit.
Visual Indicator of Frictionless Status of Retail Shelves
A method for determining whether shoppers are eligible for frictionless checkout is disclosed. The method may include obtaining image data captured using a plurality of image sensors positioned in a retail store; analyzing the image data to identify at least one shopper at one or more locations of the retail store; detecting, based on the analysis of the image data, at least one product interaction event associated with an action of the at least one shopper at the one or more locations of the retail store; based on the detected at least one product interaction event, determining whether the at least one shopper is eligible for frictionless checkout; and in response to a determination that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout, causing delivery of an indicator that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout.
MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND METHOD
A managing unit correlates and manages a first captured image with an accounting device identifier of one accounting device designated so as to perform accounting processing of the registered commodity among accounting device identifiers for respectively identifying a plurality of accounting devices. The first captured image is a customer who asks a sales clerk operating a registration device to register a commodity. The specifying unit compares a second captured image of a customer who operates the accounting device to each first captured image, and specifies the first captured image, when the accounting device starts the accounting processing. The determining unit determines whether an accounting device identifier corresponding to the first captured image coincides with an accounting device identifier of the accounting device operated by the customer included in the second captured image. The control unit inhibits the accounting processing which is performed in the accounting device operated by the customer, under a condition that the determining unit determines the identifiers not to coincide.
Application for and method of preventing overhanging weighing platter of scale from tipping at product checkout system and method of mounting and removing the weighing platter without tools
A checkout system includes a workstation having a data capture arrangement for capturing through a horizontal window a target associated with a product to identify the product being checked out at the workstation, and a scale for weighing the product at the workstation. The scale has a scale mechanism, and a weighing platter on which the product is placed for weighing. The weighing platter is integrated with the horizontal window and overlies the scale mechanism. The weighing platter projects past the scale mechanism and has a front end that overhangs the scale mechanism. Non-threaded, interlocking connectors, which are provided on the weighing platter and the scale mechanism, prevent the weighing platter from tipping if a force is exerted on the front end of the weighing platter. The weighing platter is mounted on, and removed from, the scale mechanism without the aid of tools.
CHECKOUT SYSTEM
A registration apparatus stores input data. The registration apparatus outputs the stored data. A checkout apparatus receives an input relating to payment for a commodity before data input of all commodities purchased by a customer at the registration apparatus is terminated. The checkout apparatus stores data relating to the received input. The checkout apparatus generates transaction data indicating a content of one transaction based on the stored data and the data output from the registration apparatus and issues a receipt.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND PROGRAM
According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes input unit that inputs commodity information indicating a commodity to be registered, setting unit that sets the number of pieces of the commodity, measurement unit that measures weight of the number of pieces of the commodity, first determination unit that determines whether or not a difference between the measured weight and a multiplication value obtained by multiplying a representative value of weight which is set in advance for the commodity by the number is within a range of a preset predicted width, registration unit that registers the commodity indicated by the commodity information in association with the number, second determination unit that determines a threshold range to which the difference corresponds, based on a preset threshold range of a plurality of stages, and notification unit that makes a different notification for each of the threshold ranges.
Method for processing a purchase transaction using a plurality of transaction systems
A method of processing a purchase transaction includes generating a transaction file containing a product code, which is transmitted from a user computing device when an image of a product code identifier is captured by the user computing device, a first user ID of the customer, and an indicator of whether or not the customer has opted in to receive electronic receipts. The method further includes generating an electronic receipt based on the transaction file, storing a conversion table containing the first and second user IDs of the customer, converting the first user ID contained in the transaction file to the second user ID based on the conversion table, when the indicator indicates that the customer has opted in, and storing the electronic receipt in association with the second user ID. The electronic receipt is transmitted in response to a request for electronic receipts associated with the second user ID.
WEIGHING DEVICE
A weighing device which recognizes generation of fraud which makes the weight of a commodity registered for sales appears to be lighter is provided. When a weighing unit weighs weight of a commodity (article), a weighing fraud recognition unit recognizes that there is generation of weighing fraud that makes the weight of the commodity appear to be lighter than actual weight or a possibility of the generation of the weighing fraud. When the weighing fraud recognition unit recognizes that there is the generation of the weighing fraud or the possibility of the generation of the weighing fraud, the weighing indeterminacy unit does not determine the weighing performed by the weighing unit.
IDENTIFICATION AND IMAGING OF TERMINAL-PROXIMATE EVENT OCCURENCES
Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for identification and imaging of terminal-proximate event occurrences. One such embodiment is in the form of a method that includes detecting an event occurrence and selecting at least one digital image captured with regard to a location of the detected event. This method further includes providing each of the at least one selected digital images to at least one location.
