AUTOMATED SHOPPING CART
Technologies are shown for automatically registering items in an automated physical shopping cart involving receiving image data for items in the cart, detecting a change in a weight of items in the cart and, determining whether a correlated item was identified in the image data. If no correlated item was identified, a message is displayed indicating that no correlated item was detected and a user can be prompted. A user device may be used to scan items and display messages for the cart. Items may be scanned using image recognition to determine item information. An item weight may be determined based on the change in the weight of items in the cart and priced accordingly to weight. A notification for an item in the cart may be provided to an inventory or a shopping list application indicating that the correlated item was added to the cart.
Product sales data processing system and weighing apparatus
A product sales data processing system includes: a sensor attached to a bulk food container of a product; and a weighing apparatus. The sensor includes: a sensor module that detects displacement of the sensor; a memory that stores a sensor ID that identifies the sensor; and a transmitter that transmits the sensor ID stored in the memory when the sensor module detects a predetermined displacement value. The weighing apparatus includes: a receiver that receives the sensor ID transmitted from the sensor; and a display that displays product information associated with the sensor ID.
Remote self-checkout
Methods and systems for remote self-checkout are described. One method includes presenting a code at a self-checkout point-of-sale device that may be captured by a user (e.g., a store customer or a store employee) mobile device. The code may enable the mobile device to request a connection with the self-checkout point-of-sale device that allows for user interactions associated with a self-checkout session to be performed at the self-checkout point-of-sale device or at the mobile device. The self-checkout session includes adding items to be purchased into a cart instance and receiving payment for items in the cart instance. User interactions associated with weighed items may be performed on the mobile device in a manner integrated with a scale/scanner portion of the self-checkout point-of-sale device to avoid user contact with a touchpoint of the self-checkout point-of-sale device. Accordingly, contact with a self-checkout point-of-sale device by all users may be reduced.
POS terminal
A POS terminal for a retail environment, comprising a data acquisition device for generating event data from a user scan of a product along a scanning path of the POS terminal, said path comprising an entry point and an exit point; and a processing unit for receiving at least a portion of event data from the data acquisition device and process the event data according to a set of predefined rules, to determine a control parameter for the POS terminal, generate a user alert based on the control parameter and communicate the user alert to the end user; the data acquisition device comprising: a universal product code, U PC, scanner; a plurality of illumination units arranged along the scanning path for illuminating the product; a plurality of sensors for sensing event data including a shape, size and volume of the product and a parameter of a hand of the user as the product is scanned along the scanning path.
Method and system for identifying goods of intelligent shopping cart
The present disclosure discloses a method and a system for identifying goods of intelligent shopping cart. The method comprises: reading bar code information of a to-be-purchased goods and obtaining corresponding prestored goods information; continuously detecting and obtaining a total goods weight m.sub.n+1 in the shopping cart, and comparing the total goods weight m.sub.n+1 with a total goods weight m.sub.n acquired after a previous purchasing action is completed, to obtain a variation m.sub.Δ of the total goods weight. According to the method of the present disclosure, when a customer puts a goods in the shopping cart in the shopping course, the correct goods is automatically identified and recorded in a shopping list, then the customer can directly settle the account after completing the shopping, accordingly a lot of time for the customers to wait for the settlement is saved.
Weigh platter assembly with off-platter detection
A weigh platter assembly includes a weigh platter having a proximal edge and a lateral edge and an off-platter detection assembly. The off-platter detection assembly has an assembly field-of-view (field-of-view) extending from the proximal edge and constrained to have an assembly central field-of-view axis substantially parallel to the lateral edge and at least one lateral boundary substantially adjacent to the lateral edge. A light emission assembly has a light source and emits a light away from the proximal edge. A light detection assembly has a light sensor and detects at least a portion of the light reflected towards the proximal edge. A controller allows the measured weight to be recorded in response to a first value from the light detection assembly and prevents the measured weight from being recorded and/or provides an alert in response to a second value from the light detection assembly.
METHOD FOR PROCESSING A PURCHASE TRANSACTION USING A PLURALITY OF TRANSACTION SYSTEMS
A method of processing a purchase transaction includes generating a transaction file containing a product code, which is transmitted from a user computing device when an image of a product code identifier is captured by the user computing device, a first user ID of the customer, and an indicator of whether or not the customer has opted in to receive electronic receipts. The method further includes generating an electronic receipt based on the transaction file, storing a conversion table containing the first and second user IDs of the customer, converting the first user ID contained in the transaction file to the second user ID based on the conversion table, when the indicator indicates that the customer has opted in, and storing the electronic receipt in association with the second user ID. The electronic receipt is transmitted in response to a request for electronic receipts associated with the second user ID.
Scenario characterization using machine learning user tracking and profiling for a cashier-less retail store
Devices, systems, and method are provided for tracking items in a store for processing a cashier-less purchase transaction. In one example, a method includes tracking a shopper in a store using one or more sensors to process an account of shopping activity performed by the shopper. The method further includes monitoring the shopper in the store using said one or more sensors. Output of the one or more sensors is processed by a processing entity associated with the store to produce input feature data for aspects of a current scenario involving actions of the shopper and one or more items in the store. The processing entity associated with the store processes the input feature data to characterize aspects of the current scenario. The processing entity characterizes aspects of the current scenario in part by accessing a trained machine learning model that is maintained for a profile of the shopper. The input feature data is for actions of the shopper in relation to the scenario. The input feature data is processed by one or more classifiers of the trained machine learning model to produce the characterized aspects of the scenario relating to the account of said shopping activity of the shopper and said one or more items in the store.
INTERACTIVE SHOPPING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An interactive shopping system, or smart cart. The system allows a user to select items in a store and complete a purchase without having to wait in lines or interact with store personnel. The system can have a container for holding products selected by at least one user, a user interface, a scanner in communication with the user interface, a processor in communication with the user interface, and a data storage comprising computer instructions executable by the processor. A user can select products, place them within the container, scan the products, and initiate a payment transaction to complete a purchase.
THEFT DETECTION SYSTEM
A method includes supporting, by a support, a bag containing one or more items of an order and detecting, by a sensor coupled to an end of the support, a weight of the bag and the one or more items when the bag is suspended on the support such that the weight of the bag and the one or more items is exerted on the support. The method also includes comparing, by a hardware processor, the detected weight to an expected weight of the order and communicating, by the hardware processor, an alert when the expected weight is unequal to the detected weight.
