Systems and methods for tracking assets using associated portable electronic device in the form of beacons
The last known location of a beacon associated with an asset can be determined based on the beacon's last communication with a data network. A beacon can be set up to communicate its location to or through a server to a second client used for locating and tracking the beacon after the beacon obtains a wireless data network connection and registers its most recent location with the server. Beacon location can be based on data network router IP address or GPS information. Location can be stored in memory until a subsequent location and/or wireless connection is obtained. A beacon can also include short range wireless communications to facilitate short range radio frequency communications with a second client that are determined to be in close proximity to the beacon. Short-range communications can be facilitated utilizing Bluetooth communications.
Visitor flow management
Techniques for managing visitor flow in environments on which the visitors can have an impact are provided. In one aspect, a method for managing visitor flow in an indoor space is includes the steps of: obtaining real-time data from a wireless sensor network present in the indoor space, wherein the data indicates a presence/number of visitors in the indoor space and an environmental condition(s) in the indoor space; creating a risk map using the real-time data which indicates an impact the presence/number of visitors have on the environmental conditions in the indoor space; and generating an alert whenever the risk map indicates that the presence/number of visitors have greater than a predefined threshold impact on the environmental conditions in the indoor space. Systems for managing visitor flow in indoor spaces such as a gallery of a museum or a room in a hospital are also provided.
Mobile electronic apparatus, method for controlling mobile electronic apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable recording medium
A mobile electronic apparatus, a method for controlling a mobile electronic apparatus, and a non-transitory computer readable recording medium are disclosed. A wireless communication unit receives an incoming call signal. A movement detector detects a user's movement. A proximity sensor detects the proximity of an object. At least one processor outputs as a voice, through a sound output unit, information on a party that has transmitted the incoming call signal when the user's movement and the proximity of the object are detected during the receipt of the incoming call signal.
Wheel spoking systems and methods of manufacturing and installing wheel spokes
Embodiments of wheel spoking systems and methods of manufacturing and installing. An electrically motorized wheel can include a wheel rim, a wheel hub, and a plurality of wheel spokes connecting the wheel rim to the wheel hub wherein first and second ends of each of the plurality of wheel spokes are connected to the wheel rim and a curved portion of each of the plurality of wheel spokes interface with curved spoke pockets of the wheel hub.
Alarm and monitoring system and method of operation thereof
An alarm and monitoring system including a primary device and at least one secondary device, the alarm and monitoring system including at least one controller configured to: determine whether at least one alarm event is set; establish a wireless communication between a primary device and the secondary device, when it is determined that the alarm event has been set; transmit an alarm event signal including alarm information from the primary device to the secondary device in accordance with the alarm event that is determined to have been set; generate an alarm signal by the secondary device in accordance with at least the alarm information; and render the generated alarm signal on a rendering device. The controller being configured to generate and send an actuator control signal to an actuator to adjust a condition to a predetermined state.
MOBILE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING PERCEPTIBLE OUTPUT BASED ON A TEXTUAL CODE
A mobile device apparatus and method are provided for generating perceptible output based on a textual code. Included is a mobile device with a processor in communication with a memory and a network interface. The mobile device is configured to receive a textual code, utilizing the network interface. Further, the mobile device is configured to determine whether the received textual code matches at least one stored textual code stored within the memory. Still yet, the mobile device is further configured to generate at least one perceptible output if the received textual code matches the at least one stored textual code.
Valet parking paging system
The valet parking and paging system is a wireless signaling apparatus that facilitates communication between a valet parking station and a client of the valet parking station. Specifically, the valet parking and paging system is a wireless signaling apparatus that exchanges status information between the valet parking station and a client. The valet parking and paging system comprises a plurality of valet units, a plurality of client units, and a base stations. The plurality of valet units comprises a collection of individual valet units. The plurality of client units comprises a collection of individual client units. Each individual valet unit selected from the plurality of valet units plugs into and is electrically connected to a location selected from the group consisting of the base station or an individual client unit selected from the plurality of client units.
