Embodiments of the present invention are directed to merchandise display systems and methods for displaying an article of merchandise. In one example, the system includes a sensor configured to be secured to the article of merchandise. The sensor includes a first engagement member. The system also includes a base configured to removably support the sensor thereon. The base includes a second engagement member configured to releasably engage the first engagement member such that the sensor is locked to the base. The sensor is configured to rotate with respect to the base while locked thereto.

A merchandise security system for an electronic item of merchandise is provided. In one example, the merchandise security system includes a continuous alarming power cord comprising at least one electrical conductor. The alarming power cord has a first end adapted to be electrically connected to the electronic item of merchandise and a second end. The merchandise security system also includes a reel for receiving the second end of the alarming power cord and adapted for storing at least a portion of the alarming power cord thereon. In addition, the merchandise security system includes monitoring circuitry in electrical communication with the alarming power cord and configured to detect an interruption in an electrical signal provided to the alarming power cord.

The invention relates to a life vest container device, in particular aircraft seat life vest container device, for a life vest unit, with a life vest container comprising an accommodation unit that has an accommodation space as well as an access opening to the accommodation space, and with a monitoring device. It is proposed that the monitoring device is at least configured to capture a change of at least one characteristic via at least one electric and/or electronic signal.

In one example, the connector includes a body portion configured to be connected to a cord and a connection portion engaged with the body portion and comprising a plurality of conductors. The connection portion includes a conductive shield electrically connected to a plurality of the conductors when the connection portion is not engaged with the article of merchandise, and the connection portion also includes at least one ground conductor that is not electrically connected to the remaining conductors and/or the conductive shield when the connection portion is not engaged with the article of merchandise. At least one of the conductors and/or the conductive shield is configured to cooperate with the ground conductor to define a sense loop when the connector is engaged with the article of merchandise, and interruption of the sense loop is indicative of a security event.

The vehicle sharing system comprises: i) a lockbox mounted on an exterior of the vehicle, the lockbox including a vehicle key that opens a door of the vehicle; and ii) a vehicle sharing control module disposed in the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle sharing control module communicates with the lockbox in order to open a door associated with the lockbox in response to a first command message received from a mobile device associated with a user. The lockbox is mounted on a license plate holder of the vehicle and the license plate is mounted on the door of the lockbox.

Described herein are system for evaluating operation of a battery by utilizing battery operating data for the battery and utilizing battery operating data for a plurality of other batteries. A system for evaluating operation of a first battery based on measured temperature and voltage monitored in the first battery and in a plurality of other batteries, the system comprising: a battery monitor circuit and a remote device in communicative connection with the battery monitor circuit, wherein the battery monitor circuit wirelessly transmits temperature and voltage information for the first battery to the remote device, wherein the remote device receives temperature and voltage information associated with a plurality of other batteries, and the remote device is configured to evaluate a condition of the first battery as a function of both: (i) the temperature and voltage information of the first battery and (ii) the temperature and voltage information of the plurality of other batteries.

In a method of determining whether a battery system arranged onto a vehicle is connected to an external battery charging unit, the battery system includes a plurality of battery cells, first and second main terminals connected to the battery cells, and a charging interface including first and second contact points connected to corresponding first and second main terminals. The charging unit includes third and fourth contact points configured to be connected to the first and second contact points during charging of the battery system. The method includes disconnecting, by means of a switch, the first main terminal from the corresponding first contact point; measuring a voltage between the first contact point and a reference point having a potential substantially similar to the disconnected first main terminal; and determining, by comparing a value from the voltage measurement to a threshold value, whether the charging unit is connected to the battery system.
