Patient support apparatus with deck section actuator

A patient support apparatus for supporting a patient comprising a support frame and a support deck coupled to the support frame. The support deck has a deck section arranged to articulate relative to said support frame between a first position and a second position. An actuator is interposed in force-translating relation between the support frame and the deck section to articulate the deck section. The actuator comprises a biasing device configured to store mechanical energy and having an interface. The actuator further comprises a torque multiplier coupled to the deck section and engaged with the interface to translate mechanical energy stored in the biasing device into force acting on the deck section to urge the deck section toward the first position.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REVERSIBLY CONNECTING A REHABILITATION MECHANISM TO A BED, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A REHABILITATION MECHANISM CONNECTED TO A BED

A device and a method for reversibly connecting a rehabilitation mechanism to a bed, such as a hospital bed that can be brought to a vertical position. The device has a connection element arranged on the rehabilitation mechanism; a receiving unit, which can be arranged at the side of and/or at the foot end of the bed; the receiving unit corresponds in design to the connection element; and a transport device for transporting the rehabilitation mechanism toward and away from the bed. The transport device and/or the bed is height-adjustable. A method for operating a rehabilitation mechanism connected to a bed by way of the novel device. Easy, fast, reversible connection of a rehabilitation mechanism to a conventional hospital bed is enabled, in particular to a hospital bed that can be brought to a vertical position. Existing beds can be quickly and economically retrofitted with a robot system for kinesiotherapy.

Standing assistance apparatus

The present disclosure provides a standing assistance apparatus including a support part configured to support a load, a saddle part configured to accommodate a patient to allow the patient to position from sitting condition to standing condition, and a guide part coupled between the support part and the saddle part and having an adjustable length to guide the patient to stand, wherein the guide part is disposed in diagonal direction with respect to the support part to guide the patient to stand in the diagonal direction.

The invention provides an electronically control motorized lifting device for transfer of a paraplegic between seated positions. A post extends from a wheeled base and movably supports a head for upwards and downwards movement. A lifting arm arrangement is pivotably secured to the head. The head is also rotatable about the post and the base movable between an expanded stabilizing condition and a retracted condition. The latter condition allows the lifting device to fit through a standard width doorway. Movement of the base between these conditions is effected by pivoting of the lifting arm arrangement into and out of a lateral supporting position. The base preferably includes five legs extending substantially radially from the post with two of the legs foldable towards adjacent legs.
