SECURITY SYSTEM COMMUNICATOR AND KEYPAD DEVICE
Techniques are described for replacing a keypad of an existing security system within a property with a communication-enabled keypad device with dual functioning capabilities as a communicator device and a keypad device. In some implementations, data is received from a security panel of a property. A keypad bus protocol of the security panel is determined based on the data received from the security panel. Sensor data is received from one or more sensors located within the property. A monitoring system command that is not specified within a keypad bus of the security panel is determined based on based on the obtained sensor data. The monitoring system command is converted to a panel command using the keypad bus protocol. The panel command is transmitted on the keypad bus of the security panel.

A system, including: a radar including a transmitter and a receiver, the transmitter configured to transmit an electromagnetic wave; a reflector placed a predetermined distance away from the radar, the reflector configured to reflect the transmitted electromagnetic wave back to the receiver; and a control unit coupled to the radar and configured to measure a magnitude of the reflected electromagnetic wave received at the receiver from the reflector by measuring Doppler signal corresponding to the predetermined distance, wherein the control unit is configured to measure a reference value of the magnitude of the reflected electromagnetic wave when no intrusions are occurring, and wherein the control unit is configured to trigger an alarm when the magnitude of the reflected electromagnetic wave changes from the reference value.
NANOSATELLITE-BASED PROPERTY MONITORING
Methods, systems, and apparatus for nanosatellite-based property monitoring are disclosed. A method includes receiving satellite data related to conditions of a property monitored by a monitoring system; determining, based on the satellite data, that the property is at risk from a threat; requesting, from a sensor of the monitoring system, sensor data related to the threat; receiving, from the sensor, the sensor data related to the threat; and based on analyzing the sensor data related to the threat, performing one or more monitoring system actions. The threat may include one of a weather hazard, a security hazard, or a property damage hazard. The monitoring system actions can include sending an instruction to adjust a sensor or component of the monitoring system and can include sending, to a user device, a notification that the property is at risk from the threat.
Detection device, detection method, robot, and program
A detection device includes a detection unit configured to detect a moving object by using a ranging sensor able to detect the presence of a moving object movable in the target area, a determination unit configured to determine whether or not the detected moving object is a human being by using a human detection sensor able to detect a human being, and an authentication unit configured to perform authentication of the detected moving object in a case that the detected moving object is determined to be a human being. The authentication unit includes an authentication information request unit configured to request the moving object to transmit authentication information by wireless communication, and an authentication determination unit configured to determine whether or not the moving object has the right of access based on a result of the wireless communication.
Changing topology in a wireless network
Methods, apparatuses, and embodiments related to a technique for changing topology of a wireless network in a multi-band wireless networking system. In a wireless network with multiple wireless networking devices and one or more client devices, communications between the wireless networking devices occurs via a backhaul channel, and communication between the client(s) and the wireless networking devices occurs via a fronthaul channel. At boot up, a wireless networking device configures the wireless network with a certain topology. After the topology is initially configured, the wireless networking device determines a network-related parameter and changes the topology of the wireless network based on the network-related parameter.
Intrusion detecting sensors and method
A sensor unit comprising; a magnetic sensor adapted to detect a magnetic field; a light source adapted to transmit a radiation having a signature; a reflecting member for reflecting radiation emitted by the light source; a radiation sensor adapted to detect radiation reflected by the reflecting member; a controller adapted to generate a signal indicative of a security breach when the magnetic field is detected by the magnetic sensor and the signature is not identified in the radiation received by the radiation sensor.
DOOR LOCK WITH MAGNETOMETERS
In some embodiments, a method of determining whether a door is ajar may include determining an orientation of a door lock of the door, and, based on the orientation of the door lock, analyzing at least one signal from at least one of two or more proximity sensors of the door lock. The method may further include determining whether the door is ajar based at least in part on a result of the analyzing of the at least one signal. In some embodiments, a method of determining a status of a door may include receiving a first signal from a first magnetometer disposed within a door lock of the door, receiving a second signal from a second magnetometer disposed within the door lock of the door, and detecting, based on a result of an evaluation of both the first signal and the second signal, a possible attack on the door.
PRESENCE DETECTION DEVICE AND METHOD
In accordance with an embodiment, a detection device includes: an infrared temperature sensor configured to provide a temperature signal associated with an heat emission of at least one individual within a monitored area; an electrostatic-charge-variation sensor configured to provide a charge-variation signal indicative of a variation of electrostatic charge associated with the at least one individual; and a processing unit, coupled to the infrared temperature sensor and to the electrostatic-charge-variation sensor, the processing unit configured to detect a presence of the at least one individual within the monitored area by receiving the temperature signal and the charge-variation signal, and jointly processing the temperature signal and charge.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESENCE DETECTION IN AN ENVIRONMENT TO BE MONITORED
A method for presence detection in an environment to be monitored, includes generating an electric charge signal in a condition of absence of presence in the environment to be monitored. An electric charge signal is generated in an operating condition in which a person may be present in the environment. The two generated signals are processed and the results of the processing are compared. Processing the signals includes representing in a biaxial reference system the value of the charge signal considered and its derivative with respect to time, and identifying a plurality of points in the reference system. By comparing the position of the points acquired during the possible human presence with those of the base shape, a variation indicating the actual human presence may be detected. In this case an alarm signal is generated.
