Wheelchair lift-transfer device
An improved wheelchair lift-transfer device provides capabilities for a patient or caregiver to independently control the wheelchair and lift functions to elevate and move about safely. The compact lift-transfer device is readily usable to assist in transporting and lifting patients from various locations including wheelchairs, beds and chairs. Further, the lift-transfer device is also collapsible for storage and transport.
Configurable Patient Sling
A patient sling is formed of plastics sheet or moulded plastics or textile material having a back support portion and a patient seat support portion. Two straps are coupled to respective side flanges of the back rest support, while two straps are coupled to respective side flanges the seat support portion and connect to the straps. The straps can be adjusted in length and also detached from the upper straps in order to adjust the configuration of the seat portion. The seat support portion includes a cut out for assisting a patient in effecting bodily functions and fold lines can also enable the seat support portion to be either partially folded or fully folded back in order to assist a patient in dressing and undressing, while continuing to be retained and supported by the back rest support portion.
MOBILITY DEVICE FOR ASSISTING A PATIENT
A mobility device for assisting a patient includes a frame having a wheel arranged to manoeuvre the mobility device; a lift assembly coupled to the frame and movable between a lowered position and a raised position; and a support arm coupled to the lift assembly for movement with the lift assembly and arranged to support an upper part of a body of the patient and to support at least part of his weight on the mobility device when the lift assembly is raised from the lowered position to the raised position and when manoeuvring the mobility device.
APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR LIFTING, MOVING, TURNING, AND POSITIONING A PATIENT
A patient support device includes a sheet configured to be placed beneath the patient in use and a plurality of straps connected to the sheet and configured for use in moving, lifting, turning, and/or positioning the patient. The straps may include one or more retractable straps that each have a stretchable retraction strap connected thereto and configured for retracting the retractable strap. The straps may also include one or more central support straps connected to the sheet in an area positioned between the legs of the patient. The sheet may also include a head support for supporting the patient's head, which head support may also include one or more straps. The straps may be connected to a hoist, which is then used to lift the patient.
OVERHEAD LIFTS HAVING A RELEASE ASSEMBLY FOR DISENGAGING AN ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKE AND METHODS FOR DISENGAGING AN ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKE OF AN OVERHEAD LIFT
An overhead lift includes a lift strap, a motor, an electromagnetic brake, and a release assembly. The motor includes a rotatable shaft coupled to the lift strap. The electromagnetic brake is coupled to the rotatable shaft and has an engaged state and a disengaged state. The release assembly is engaged with the electromagnetic brake. The release assembly incudes a release lever engaged with the electromagnetic brake and a release strap. The release lever is moveable between a first position and a second position, wherein the release lever switches the electromagnetic brake to the disengaged state when in the second position. The release strap is coupled to the release lever. Tensioning of the release strap moves the release lever from the first position to the second position thereby switching the electromagnetic brake to the disengaged state.
Systems and methods for lifting and positioning a patient
An inflatable device for lifting a patient includes an inflatable body having a top sheet and a bottom sheet attached along opposing side edges and forming at least one cavity there between, and a plurality of connecting members extending outwardly from the opposing side edges of the inflatable device.
SLING BARS, METHODS FOR ATTACHING A SUBJECT SLING TO SLING BARS, AND LIFT SYSTEMS USING SLING BARS
A sling bar includes a first bar portion, a first receiving aperture, a first strap guide slot, and a first retention spring. The first bar portion has a first upper surface. The first receiving aperture is disposed within the first bar portion. The first strap guide slot is disposed within the first bar portion and extends from the first upper surface to the first receiving aperture. The first strap guide slot is defined by a first lower slot surface and a first upper slot surface. The first retention spring is disposed within the first strap guide slot and moveable between a closed position and an open position. The first retention spring is extended toward the first upper slot surface when in the closed position and is retracted toward the first lower slot surface when in the open position. The first retention spring is biased to the closed position.
ADJUSTABLE SLING BARS FOR SUBJECT LIFTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPERATING THE SAME
A sling bar assembly allows variable positioning of a sling on the sling bar assembly. Some sling bar assemblies include opposing sling bar members that are movable with respect to one another in a lateral direction. Some opposing sling bar members are repositionable between a locked position, in which movement of the sling members with respect to one another is restricted, and an unlocked position. Some sling bar assemblies include multiple sling hooks positioned on a sling bar member. Some sling bar assemblies include a biasing member that permits movement of a sling hook with respect to the sling bar assembly in the lateral direction.
Hanging kit
A hanging kit includes a supporting member having at least one fixing portion and two suspending members respectively located at two opposite sides of the supporting member. The fixing portion has two coupling portions configured for coupling with each other. Each of the two suspending members has at least one suspending part and a connecting part, and the connecting part is configured for respectively connecting the two suspending members to the supporting member.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REORIENTING A PERSON
An apparatus for reorienting a person includes a wrap having a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion, the first lateral portion and the second lateral portion being releasably securable to one another along an anterior region of the wrap between lateral sides of the person and along a posterior region of the wrap between the lateral sides of the person via a set of fasteners. Each of the lateral portions are dimensioned to extend around a corresponding one of the lateral sides of the person and having anterior and posterior edges that are dimensioned to extend at most partway across to an opposite one of the lateral sides of the person. The wrap is made from flexible materials and dimensioned to extend at least from below knees of the person to above the elbows of the person and snugly retain the person therein.
