The lift frame includes a lift strap extending from the lift frame and a pair of connection points extending from the lift frame. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to one connection point of the pair of connection points of the lift frame at an inferior end of the load beam. Each load beam of the pair of load beams is attached to the carriage at a superior end of the load beam. And each load beam of the pair of load beams comprises a strain gauge operable to register a weight supported on the lift strap.

PATIENT LIFT APPARATUS

There is described a patient lift apparatus comprising a supporting frame, a boom portion connected to the supporting frame via a pivot joint (PJ1) to allow the boom portion to pivot with respect to the supporting frame about a pivot axis (PA1), a boom actuator to mechanically assist pivotal movement of the boom portion with respect to the supporting frame, and a leg/knee support connected to the supporting frame. The leg/knee support is configured to be selectively releasable from the supporting frame and comprises a manually-operable release mechanism forming an integral part of the leg/knee support, which manually-operable release mechanism is configured to allow selective release of the leg/knee support from the supporting frame. The manually-operable release mechanism comprises a retaining device configured to cooperate with a support mount provided on the supporting frame to secure the leg/knee support onto the supporting frame, and a manually-operable handle cooperating with the retaining device to allow selective release of the retaining device from the support mount and thereby allow removal of the leg/knee support from the supporting frame.

Lift system with a stowable support assembly

A lift system includes a hoist module, a support assembly which is movable relative to the hoist module, and a control system. The control system is adapted to enable a user to a) issue an operational command which causes the support assembly to move to an operational destination, and b) issue a stowage command which causes the support assembly to move to a stowage destination. The control system is also adapted to A) disregard the stowage command provided at least one condition is satisfied and/or B) encumber issuance of the stowage command Equivalently, the control system adaptation is to A1) disregard the stowage command provided at least one stowage contraindication condition is satisfied or A2) not disregard the stowage command provided at least one stowage noncontraindication condition is satisfied and/or B) encumber issuance of the stowage command.

Support harnesses and systems and kits including the same are disclosed. A support harness includes a plurality of straps arranged such that a first strap, a second strap, and a third strap are spaced apart from one another, and the third strap extends between the first strap and the second strap. The support harness further includes a first connection piece extending between a proximal end of the first strap and a proximal end of the third strap and a second connection piece extending between a proximal end of the second strap and the proximal end of the third strap. The first strap, the second strap, and the third strap are each positionable around a horizontally positioned subject by wrapping the respective distal ends around a body part of the horizontally positioned subject and coupling the distal ends to the respective portions.

Caring lift

A stationary type caring lift includes a base plate arranged on a floor part at each of head and foot sides of a bed for a care receiver along each short-side side of the bed, four supports erected on the base plates in the vicinity of four corners of the bed, a pair of guide rails supported above the bed by the four supports and arranged in parallel along both long-side sides of the bed, a longitudinally moving body arranged between the guide rails and capable of being moved in a longitudinal direction of the bed while being guided by the guide rails, a slide rail attached movably, a laterally moving body attached movably in the lateral direction of the bed, and a lifting drive mechanism attached in the laterally moving body for hanging down the care receiver and having a worm reduction gear with a self-lock function.

METHODS OF PREPARING A SUBJECT FOR ROTATION AND ROTATING A SUBJECT USING AN OVERHEAD LIFT

A method of rotating a subject includes arranging a lifting aid underneath the subject such that a midline of the subject is off center from a centerline of the lifting aid in a direction opposite of the rotation direction. The lifting aid includes a first loop extending in the rotation direction and a second loop extending in the opposite direction. The method further includes connecting the loops to a sling bar coupled to an overhead lift and directing the overhead lift to raise, where the subject rotates towards the direction of rotation due to the off center location of the subject. The method further includes repositioning the subject when the subject has rotated to a lateral recumbent position and directing the overhead lift to lower, thereby causing the subject to continue rotating.

Apparatus and system for lifting, moving, turning, and positioning a patient

A patient support device includes a sheet configured to be placed beneath the patient in use and a plurality of straps connected to the sheet and configured for use in moving, lifting, turning, and/or positioning the patient. The straps may include one or more retractable straps that each have a stretchable retraction strap connected thereto and configured for retracting the retractable strap. The straps may also include one or more central support straps connected to the sheet in an area positioned between the legs of the patient. The sheet may also include a head support for supporting the patient's head, which head support may also include one or more straps. The straps may be connected to a hoist, which is then used to lift the patient.
