Locating and signaling device, system and method
Systems, methods and devices for hands-free signaling for tracking, locating and/or monitoring a person are provided in embodiments herein. A system including a portable signaling unit comprising an intra-oral element and a sensor for detecting a compressive force from a user is provided in an embodiment herein. The portable signaling unit may be configured to generate a signal in response to the compressive force detected, in one embodiment. The embodiment further includes a relay device configured to transmit a signal from the sensor, a receiver configured to detect the signal from the relay device, and a processor enabled to receive a signal from the receiver, wherein the signal is used to identify and provide information about a location of the portable signaling unit.
FORGETTING-TO-CARRY PREVENTION ASSISTANCE METHOD, TERMINAL DEVICE, AND FORGETTING-TO-CARRY PREVENTION ASSISTANCE SYSTEM
A forgetting-to-carry prevention assistance method assists, in a terminal device, a user in preventing forgetting to carry a personal item. The forgetting-to-carry prevention assistance method includes acquiring a destination for the user; detecting the personal item that exists around the user; and in a case where the personal item associated with a category of the destination is not detected, notifying information on the personal item that is not detected.
OFFENDER MONITORING SYSTEM
An offender monitoring system has an electronic tag and a monitoring unit. The electronic tag has a tether to secure the electronic tag to an offender and a communication device to communicate with the monitoring unit. The monitoring unit has a communication device to communicate with the electronic tag. The system has a processor which analyses a communication between the electronic tag and the monitoring unit to determine a communication property, such as latency, variability of latency over a plurality of communications and signal strength. The processor determines, based on the measured communication property differing from a historical value, whether the communication between the electronic tag and the monitoring unit has been relayed via an intermediary device in an attempt by the offender to trick the monitoring unit.
CAR SEAT ALARM SYSTEM
A car seat alarm system including a weight-sensor plate assembly, a power source, a dashboard sensor, and a portable device including a speaker. The weight-sensor plate assembly is positioned and configured to detect a weight of a child in a car seat. The weight-sensor plate assembly is in communication with the dashboard sensor including a transceiver. The dashboard or visor sensor is configured to communicate that a child is present within the car seat. The dashboard sensor is in wireless communication with the portable device such as a key fob or smartphone. The dashboard sensor is configured to activate an alarm through the speaker when the portable device extends past a pre-determined proximity range from the dashboard sensor is reached and if the weight of the child is present within the car seat.
TRACKING A MOBILE DEVICE
In an example implementation, a method of tracking a mobile device includes determining by a tracked device, that a pairing status between the tracked device and a command device has changed from a paired status to an unpaired status. A timer is started on the tracked device in response to determining the unpaired status, and in response to the timer reaching a threshold time, a distress packet is transmitted from the tracked device that indicates the tracked device is lost.
PRESENCE DETECTION AND USES THEREOF
A computer-implemented method comprises detecting, with a presence detector such as a radar device, a presence of a person at a location such as an ATM vestibule. In response thereto, a timer is initiated. After initiating the timer, a portal sensor is used to detect a change in a status of a portal permitting access to the location. In response thereto, the timer is adjusted (for example the timer is reset). Thus, multiple consecutive normal usages of the vestibule do not unnecessarily trigger an alarm.
Left-Behind Telephone Reminder System and Method
A system and method for preventing leaving a cellular telephone behind that includes a portable device which contains a pairable transceiver such as a BLUETOOTH transceiver that can pair with another pairable transceiver in a cellular telephone. The cellular telephone alarms with a particular ring tone when the portable device which the user carries typically on a key chain when pairing between the portable device and the telephone is broken by the user moving out of range of the telephone.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AN INDIVIDUAL BY A SINGLE MONITOR AND OR A SOCIAL NETWORK
A system for monitoring an individual comprising a controller arrangement comprising a memory of computer implemented steps and a database of predetermined target conditions. A monitoring device is physically associated with the monitored individual and in communication with the controller arrangement. The monitoring device provides for detecting a real-time condition status of the monitored individual. An interface accessible to a monitor of the individual is in communication with the controller arrangement and the monitoring device. The memory of computer implementable steps comprises: receiving the real-time condition status from the monitoring device; comparing the real-time condition status with the target conditions so as to identify a match; signaling the monitor via the interface when a match between a given real-time condition status and a target condition has been made. The system may further comprise a plurality of additional interfaces accessible to a network of users. The plurality of additional user interfaces are in communication with the controller arrangement. The network of users or a selected sub-group thereof are selectively notified of the target condition via the plurality of additional interfaces.
SYSTEM FOR LOCATING REMOTE OBJECTS
A system for locating remote objects and for directing users to remote objects, and for tracking remote objects such as eye glasses, watches, and the like, the system including an RFID transponder physically connected to the object, and RFID interrogator configured to interrogate the RFID transponder and receive a signal in response thereto, and a portable electronic device in electronic communication with the RFID interrogator and configured to process the received signal and determine a location of the object relative to the RFID interrogator and to provide information to a user regarding the location of the object.
