METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONNECTIVITY AND CONTROL OF A HAZARD-PRONE ENVIRONMENT USING A LOW POWER WIDE AREA NETWORK
A personal area network that includes a wearable electronic device, a system and methods of using the personal area network that includes a wearable electronic device. The wearable electronic device can act as an aggregator of the data that is being acquired by the one or more sensors and from other devices that are within wireless signal range of the personal area network in order to send some or all of the data over a wireless low power wide area network to remote locations within a larger network for subsequent processing, user notification, analysis of location-determination, contact tracing or the like. Data may flow in a bidirectional manner between the wearable electronic device and at least some of the other devices within the personal area network. In one form, the aggregated data may be used to control access to a hazard-prone environment in order to reduce the likelihood of exposure of a service technician to unsafe conditions within such environment. In one form, a communication network formed by the wearable electronic device is used with the hazard-prone environment in order to control access, while in another to control a lockout/tagout procedure.
Electronic device and method for providing personalized biometric information based on biometric signal using same
An electronic device for providing biometric information is provided. The electronic device includes a sensor module, a memory, and a processor electrically connected to the sensor module and the memory. The processor obtains a biometric signal from the sensor module at a predetermined time interval, determines whether a user is in a first state on the basis of the obtained biometric signal, in case the user is in a first state, obtains a representative value for a respective of the at least one biometric signal, defines the obtained representative value for the respective of the at least one biometric signal as a candidate reference value for a corresponding biometric signal, determines a candidate reference value satisfying a predetermined condition as a first reference value for the corresponding biometric signal, and updates a second reference value previously configured for the corresponding biometric signal on the basis of the first reference value.
Nasal and oral respiration sensor
An apparatus having a support structure, including two nasal flow passages aligned with one another and with respect to a nasal respiratory flow direction, and an oral flow passage disposed transverse to the two nasal flow passages, along an oral respiratory flow direction, the nasal flow passages and oral flow passages having thermistors to monitor a patient's respiration, and the apparatus having a thermistor for monitoring ambient conditions and an accelerometer for monitoring movement of the apparatus. The apparatus also detecting and distinguishing between oral and individual nasal air flows, and integration of the apparatus and monitored data with a network.

Methods, devices and systems are disclosed for inter-app communications between software applications on a mobile communications device. In one aspect, a computer-readable medium on a mobile computing device comprising an inter-application communication data structure to facilitate transitioning and distributing data between software applications in a shared app group for an operating system of the mobile computing device includes a scheme field of the data structure providing a scheme id associated with a target software app to transition to from a source software app, wherein the scheme id is listed on a scheme list stored with the source software app; and a payload field of the data structure providing data and/or an identification where to access data in a shared file system accessible to the software applications in the shared app group, wherein the payload field is encrypted.
Recommendation management for an electronic device
A method, system, apparatus, and/or device that may include: a first sensor operable to take a first physiological measurement; a second sensor operable to take a second physiological measurement; and a processing device operatively coupled to the first sensor and the second sensor. The processing device may be operable to: receive a first measurement data for the first physiological measurement; receive a second measurement data for the second physiological measurement; generate an event data set based on the first measurement data with the second measurement data; determine an event occurred based on the event data set; determine a type of the event; and in response to the event being a safety event: determine a type of the safety event; identify a risk level of the safety event; and in response to the risk level exceeding a threshold level, notify a second device of the safety event.
HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WITH COMBINING TV VIEWING DATA AND BIO DATA
A healthcare system with combining TV viewing data and bio data includes a smart meter that collects and transmits first audio data of a first broadcast content, and collects and transmits ambient sounds; a smart device that collects and transmits second audio data of a second broadcast content, and collects and transmits usage data of an installed application; a wearable device that collects and transmits the user's bio data; a database storing broadcast reference data comparable to at least one of the first audio data and the second audio data; a broadcast content determining unit that compares one or more of the first audio data and the second audio data with the broadcast reference data to specify a third broadcast content; and an abnormality detection unit that determines that an abnormality has occurred in the user's personal safety.
Systems and methods for health monitoring and providing emergency support
Systems and methods for providing a health monitoring and emergency response service are provided. Each element in a plurality of data elements is obtained from a health monitoring device connected to a corresponding subject in a plural of subjects. An alert is triggered through analysis of the data element or manually triggered by the subject or a subject's circle of support. The subject or one or more members of the circle of support of the subject verifies or rejects the alert. The alert is sent to a remote monitoring alarm center and emergency responders are dispatched.
Home security response using biometric and environmental observations
Various arrangements for handling a potential security situation using a home automation system are presented. A biometric measurement of a user may be received. An alert from a home automation device in wireless communication with the home automation host system may be received. If the biometric measurement is associated with the alert, a security response action may be performed.
EVENT BASED MONITORING OF A PERSON
In some instances, a person may need monitoring. The monitoring may be based on age, or on other factors such as abilities and functionality. The monitoring may enable a supervising person to remotely receive updates regarding the subject person. The supervising person may enter in various biometric parameters to monitor. The supervising person may alternatively and/or additionally set other factors to monitor such as time of day, location, activity level, and the like. The monitoring may provide peace of mind to a supervising person to ensure the subject person is safe. In some embodiments, the supervising person may set various alarm thresholds. The alarm thresholds may trigger an alert to the supervising person. In alternative embodiments, if the subject person is a grown person without a supervising person in the same vicinity, a security and/or automation system may act as the supervising adult.
Utilizing stochastic controller to provide user-controlled notification rate of wearable-based events
Method, apparatus and product for utilizing stochastic controller to provide user-controlled notification rate of wearable-based events. The method comprises obtaining events issued by a module based on analysis of multiple sensor readings of one or more sensors of a wearable device. The method further comprises determining by a stochastic controller whether to provide an alert to a user based on the events and based on a user preference, wherein the user preference is indicative of a desired notification rate of the user, wherein the stochastic controller comprises a stochastic model of an environment. Based on such determination, alerts are outputted to the user.
