Devices and Methods to Help Prevent Decubitus Ulcers
This invention can help a person in bed to avoid decubitus ulcers. This device has a flexible body support structure (such as a sheet or blanket) which is automatically moved from a first configuration which is flat to a second configuration which enfolds and/or wraps around a person's body. The device turns a person from lying on their first side to lying on their opposite side by: enfolding the person in the support structure; rotating or pivoting the support structure; and then releasing the person by unfolding the support structure.
Patient repositioning sheet and sling
A patient repositioning apparatus doubles as a repositioning sheet and a sling. The repositioning apparatus includes a sheet with an upper surface and an opposing lower surface and defines an outer periphery that has opposing side edges. The upper surface of the sheet has an upper surface material, and the lower surface of the sheet has a lower surface material that is formed from a relatively low-friction material as compared to the upper surface material. The handles are disposed along the opposing side edges of the sheet, and the strap members are attached to the sheet and distributed across both opposing side edges. Each of the strap members includes a strap portion that forms a bight in the strap member.
Patient sling
A patient transfer sheet acts as a combined sling and bed cover and includes a substantially rectangular sheet portion of a size to fit over a standard bed mattress and to which are attached a plurality of straps for coupling to a hoist. The patient transfer sheet is preferably made of a single-layered material which is breathable, strong and soft. The patient transfer sheet can act as a sling for transportation/repositioning of a patient as well as a replacement bed covering to replace conventional bed linen. The patient can thus be transported onto a bed without needing to remove the patient from the sling.
Combined mobile cart for sick and wounded
A combined mobile cart for the sick or wounded, includes a mobile cart and a mobile stretcher. The mobile cart includes a main body frame, a left retractable track mechanism, a right retractable track mechanism, a lifting and translating mechanism, and an automatic movable weight-balancing mechanism. The top of the main body frame is provided with the left and right retractable track mechanisms, a supporting layer is arranged in a middle of the main body frame of the mobile stretcher, and the automatic movable weight-balancing mechanism is arranged at a bottom of the main body frame; and the lifting and translating mechanism is provided with a left case body and a right case body, lifting ropes are arranged under the lifting and translating mechanism, and suspension tools are connected with the lifting ropes, so that functions of vertically lifting and vertically moving the mobile stretcher are realized.
Mover Device for Persons with Reduced Mobility
A mover device for the body of persons with reduced mobility, suitable and configured for being positioned above an installation. The device comprises a frame and a motor-driven operating portion at least partially overhanging the installation, which comprises a plurality of support elements movable according to at least one degree of freedom and configured for at least partially supporting the weight of a person, for moving at least a respective part of the person's body with respect to the remaining parts of the body. The device also comprises at least one housing and gripping element to house and grip parts and/or joints of a body which can be engaged by a respective support element and configured for operating at least between a rest condition wherein it can engage a part of a body and a grip condition wherein it engages a part of a body.
PATIENT TURNING SYSTEM
A system for turning a patient supported on a patient support apparatus includes a U-shaped frame and a rectangular frame pivotably coupled to the U-shaped frame. The rectangular frame includes first and second sheet grippers configured to removeably couple a plurality of sheets to the system and secure the patient between the sheets. The rectangular frame, the sheets, and the patient are configured to rotate at least 180 degrees relative to the U-shaped frame after the U-shaped frame, the rectangular frame, the sheets, and the patient are raised at least a clearance distance above the patient support apparatus.
Patient support system and method for medical imaging
A patient support system includes a support beam that may translocate along an axial axis of a medical imaging system. At least a portion of the support beam may be disposed within a central bore of the medical imaging system. The patient support system also includes a patient support removably coupled to the support beam and including a backing that may support a patient during an imaging procedure and a restraint extending a longitudinal length of the backing. The restraint includes a first end coupled to the backing and a second end that may be removably coupled to the support beam, and the restraint may secure the patient support to the support beam and to restrain the patient within the patient support.
Bed sheet lift system
The present invention includes a bed sheet having one or more features to accommodate a user's grasp whereby to assist the user in safely lifting a patient with the bed sheet. The invention further includes a hoist system configured to raise and lower the bed sheet via the one or more features to accommodate a user's grasp. The one or more grasping features of the bed sheet may include handles that are secured to the bed sheet using an integrated webbing that allows the bed sheet to be used to transport patients from one location to another, such as from a gurney to a hospital bed. An integrated webbing of the bed sheet strengthens an interface between handles and a top portion of the bed sheet so that patients of substantial weight can be transported via the bed sheet.
LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
