A method, comprising: providing a combination of a package and a label attached to the package, wherein the label comprises a fluorescent substance, illuminating the label with excitation light so as to cause the label to emit fluorescence light, capturing an image of the label by using an imaging unit, and detecting the position of the label by analyzing the captured image and/or detecting a degree of adhesion of the label by analyzing the captured image.

Sealing label and method of sealing a package

Sealing a package with a visually transparent sealing label is described. The visually transparent sealing label contains an ultraviolet blocking component to prevent transmission of ultraviolet radiation through the label to the surface of the package. The package comprises an activatable component that upon excitation with ultraviolet radiation emits luminescence. The presence of the sealing label on the package may be verified by illuminating the sealing label with ultraviolet radiation and by observing whether the level of luminescence from the package material under the sealing label is lower than a limit value.

Tamper-evident features for containers. A tamper-evident film is target printed onto a sheet material that is thermoformable. The sheet is thermoformed into a container base or lid having a desired shape, such that the tamper-evident film is positioned in a desired area. A container lid is disposed on the container base, and heat sealed to a rim or edge of the container base. The heat sealing activates an adhesive of the tamper-evident film, and when the container lid is removed or separated from the container base, a first portion of the tamper-evident film remains on the container lid and a second portion remains on the container base. The separation of the tamper-evident film provides an indication of tampering.

The complex-shaped cut makes reapplication of the label difficult and evident, thus providing security to consumers. The label may include multiple layers of material, for example, a peel-off layer and an adhesive layer.

Tamper-evident media is provided. The tamper-evident media comprising a substrate and a plurality of die cuts in first portions of the substrate. A first side of the substrate comprising a print coating or image coating that enables the corresponding side of the substrate to be printed or imaged with custom indicia. A second side of the substrate comprising an adhesive. When the media is imaged with the custom indicia on the first side and adhered onto a surface of an item or an object using the second side. The media is incapable of being removed from the surface without damaging the media along one or more of the die cuts, which provides visible evidence that item was opened, or the object was used.

A sealing label for sealing a snuff container may include a structural layer and having first and second side edges extending in a length direction and first and second end edges extending in a width direction. The sealing label may be divided in the width direction into a container lid attachment area and a container base attachment area. A tear strip area may be arranged between the container lid attachment area and the container base attachment area and may be terminated by a pull tab arranged at the first end edge. The structural layer of the sealing label may be a single structural layer of the sealing label and may consist of a mono oriented polymer film having a direction of orientation coinciding with the length direction of the sealing label. A snuff container provided with the sealing label is also disclosed.

SMART SEAL ASSEMBLY

A security seal identification that may be matched with an identification of a utility measuring meter. This matching may be done, for instance, by a code which is imprinted on the seal and then matched to a meter number in a database, or by a code such as an encryption of the number assigned to the meter. An encryption may be read by an app on a smartphone or checked offline to determine whether the seal belongs to the meter or if it was altered or changed. A mismatch of numbers or symbols may generally indicate a change or manipulation and warrant an investigation.
