Techniques for improving the color accuracy of light-emitting diodes in backlit liquid-crystal displays
A display device includes an array of LEDs, an array of LCD pixels, and a display controller. The display controller is configured to compensate for one or more sources of color variation in light produced by the LEDs. The display controller can determine a first color variation at a given LCD pixel based on the distance between the given LCD pixel and one or more LEDs. The display controller can also determine a second color variation at the given LCD pixel based on a current level supplied to the one or more LEDs. The display controller configures the given LCD pixel to filter light that is received from the one or more LEDs in a manner that reduces or eliminates either or both of the first and second color variations.
Light-emitting device, display device, and LED display device
A light-emitting device is provided with a drive voltage adjustment circuit configured to adjust a voltage value of a drive voltage for driving a plurality of LEDs, and a feedback wiring line for supplying the drive voltage adjustment circuit with a voltage of a voltage detection target node while taking, as the voltage detection target node, a position before a position where a drive voltage wiring line branches on the LED substrate. In accordance with a difference between a voltage supplied from a drive voltage generation circuit and a voltage supplied from the feedback wiring line, the drive voltage adjustment circuit outputs, as the drive voltage, a voltage higher than the voltage supplied from the drive voltage generation circuit.
LCD display for pixel level local dimming and dynamic privacy
A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes an LCD panel with a number (N) of pixel elements for displaying an image. A dimming panel includes N dimming elements. The dimming panel has a first mode to apply a uniform dimming to the N dimming elements to provide a privacy function for the LCD device. The dimming panel further has a second mode to a apply a per-element dimming to provide a local dimming function for the LCD device.
IN-VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY SYSTEM AND INFORMATION DISPLAY APPARATUS
An information display apparatus that displays image information on a vehicle includes a HUD apparatus projecting a large-scale virtual image onto a distant position and serving as a first information display apparatus 100 arranged between a windshield glass 6 of the vehicle and an instrument panel, and effectively displays a plurality of pieces of the image information by making coordination with a second information display apparatus 48 close to the windshield glass 6, the second information display apparatus causing a transparent dispersion sheet in the windshield glass to directly reflect a screen of a large-scale high-resolution image display panel so that the screen is observed by the driver.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF
The present application proposes a display device and a driving method thereof. The display device includes a display panel and a driving control module. The display panel includes first data lines and second data lines. The driving control module controls each of the first data lines and each of the second data lines to output a first data signal and a second data signal. A high electric potential period of the first data signal is within a low electric potential period of the second data signal. A high electric potential period of the second data signal is within a low electric potential period of the first data signal.
COMPLIANCE VOLTAGE BASED ON DIODE OUTPUT BRIGHTNESS
A method for operating a display comprising a plurality of emission diodes. For each emission diode, an output brightness of the emission diode is monitored over a range of compliance voltages. Based on the monitored output brightness of the emission diode, an inflection voltage is determined. At the inflection voltage, increasing a commanded compliance voltage does not yield an above-threshold increase in output brightness. Further, decreasing the commanded compliance voltage from the inflection voltage yields an above-threshold decrease in output brightness. In response to receiving a request for the emission diode to operate at a peak output brightness, an applied compliance voltage is commanded that is within a threshold voltage of the inflection point voltage.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GAZE-BASED LIGHTING OF DISPLAYS
A method includes providing a pixelated surface, providing at least one sensor configured to track movement of at least one eye of a user relative to the surface, detecting one or more portions of the surface based on the tracked movement and adjusting one or more properties in relation to the one or more detected portions such that a dosing of one of cyan and long-red, near-infrared (NIR) illumination is provided, while the user is gazing at the one or more portions.

Provided are a driver circuit, a light-emitting panel and a preparation method thereof, and a display device. The driver circuit includes a terminal connection module, a drive module, and a short-circuit protection module. The terminal connection module, the drive module, and the short-circuit protection module are connected in series between a first power supply terminal and a second power supply terminal, and the short-circuit protection module is connected in series between the terminal connection module and the second power supply terminal. The terminal connection module is connected to an original light-emitting unit so that the original light-emitting unit is connected in series between the first power supply terminal and the second power supply terminal. The short-circuit protection module is configured to be disconnected in a case where the original light-emitting unit is short-circuited.
