ROTATIONAL SUPPORT APPARATUS
Moving an individual with limited mobility from one seated position to another requires a significant effort from the caregiver and can expose the individual and the caregiver to several injuries. The rotational support apparatus is useful in safely assisting individuals with limited mobility to move from one seated position to another with minimal effort. The apparatus is lightweight and portable. The base of the apparatus rotates so the caregiver can easily move the position of the individual. The base can be coupled with a stabilizing device that the individual with limited mobility can hold on to while the caregiver rotates them to another position.
Swivel seat system
A swivel seat system comprising a base assembly, further comprising at least one first leg extending downward from a base plate, at least one second leg extending downward from the base plate, and a clamp plate assembly; a swivel assembly attached to an upper surface of the base plate; and a seat attached to an upper surface of the swivel assembly. The clamp plate assembly further comprises a clamp plate, a gear, a shaft extending downwardly from a center bore of the gear, an elongated handle extending outwardly from the shaft, and a rack coupled to the clamp plate, wherein the gear engages the rack via a plurality of teeth on the gear. The clamp plate assembly is structured and arranged to slide linearly along the bottom surface of the base plate by rotating the elongated handle.
DETERMINING LIFTING EVENTS USING SENSORS FOR PERSON LIFTING APPARATUSES
A method of determining a lifting event of a person lifting apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving one or more of (i) current load information from a current measuring device that is indicative of current drawn by an actuator operatively connected to a lifting strap of the person lifting apparatus; (ii) strap position information from a position sensor that is indicative of a paid out length of the lifting strap of the person lifting apparatus; and (iii) weight information from a weight sensor that is indicative of a load supported by the lifting strap of the person lifting apparatus. A computing device comprising a processor using logic is used to identify at least one of a raising event, a repositioning event and a lowering event based on the one or more of the current load information, strap position information and weight information.
PERSON LIFTING APPARATUSES INCLUDING LIFTING STRAPS AND METHODS OF OPERATION BASED ON CURRENT DRAW
A person lifting apparatus includes a first lifting strap feeding device including a first drum and a first lifting strap wound on the first drum. A second lifting strap feeding device includes a second drum and a second lifting strap wound on the second drum. A controller is communicatively coupled to the first lifting strap feeding device and to the second lifting strap feeding device. The controller includes logic that controls operation of the first lifting strap feeding device and the second lifting strap feeding device based on a comparison of current draws of the first lifting strap feeding device and the second lifting strap feeding device.
Bed with pivotable bed surface
A central bed having a longitudinal bed frame and a bed section mounted to the frame for rotation about a substantially vertical axis between a home position aligned with the bed frame and an away position.
Patient support with energy transfer
A patient support including a base; a patient support surface supported by the base; an electrically powered device; a rechargeable power storage device for powering the electrically powered device; and a receiving coil electrically coupled to the rechargeable power supply for inductive coupling with a transmitting coil. The receiving coil is for recharging the rechargeable power supply when the receiving coil is inductively coupled to the transmitting coil.
Multi-function adaptable lift system
A lift system has a back panel and a seat panel to provide a seat for a user. The back panel is slidably mounted on a support column via slider so that the back panel can be moved up and down to adjust the seat height. The seat panel can be flipped back to accommodate a user in a standing posture. With the support column, the lift system can be attached to a wheeled frame, a pole, a rotatable arm, a wall or a ceiling depending on the need of the user.
LIFT AND METHOD FOR USE OF A LIFT FOR POSITIONING A PATIENT RELATIVE TO A SURGICAL FRAME
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
SHOWER ROOM WITH A ROTATABLE CABINET
A shower room has a compartment, a rotatable cabinet rotatably mounted in an opening of the compartment, a seat mounted on the rotatable cabinet, and a shower device mounted in the compartment. When the rotatable cabinet is rotated to a using state, the opening of the compartment is closed by the rotatable cabinet and the seat is disposed inside the compartment. When the rotatable cabinet is rotated to a moving state, the seat is disposed outside the compartment. A user sitting on the seat can be rotated into an interior space of the compartment along with the rotatable cabinet to have a shower, or be rotated to an exterior of the compartment to leave the rotatable cabinet. Therefore, it is convenient for people with mobility problems to enter or leave the shower room by sitting on the seat and rotating in place.
MATTRESS ROTATING SYSTEM
A mattress rotating system for lifting and rotating a mattress includes a box spring that has a top side, a bottom side and a perimeter wall that is attached to and extends between the top side and the bottom side. The perimeter wall includes a front side, a back side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side. The box spring has an opening that extends through the top side. A lifting unit is mounted in the box spring and is extendable upwardly from the box spring. The lifting unit is rotatable relative to the box spring. A mattress is positioned on the lifting unit and the lifting unit is actuated to lift the mattress upwardly from the box spring such that the mattress is rotatable with respect to the box spring.
