A speaker system includes one or more rotating speakers (or speakers with rotating reflectors) that are synchronized in absolute angular position to another rotating speaker or synchronized to audio effects to generated by a signal processing system driving a stationary or rotary speaker. Knowledge of absolute angular position in a multi-rotor speaker array or signal processing system allows for control of rotary position to accomplish acoustic effects otherwise not possible, such as matched-velocity profiles with differential phase control and motion profiles that are not based on simple rotation.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT CAPABLE OF PRODUCING ADDITIONAL VIBRATION SOUND AND METHOD THEREFOR
20180330703 · 2018-11-15 ·

The musical instrument includes: a pickup that acquires an electric sound signal corresponding to a sound performed on the musical instrument; effector circuitry that imparts an effect to the acquired electric sound signal; a vibrator that produces mechanical vibration corresponding to the effect-imparted sound signal; and a transmission device that transmits the mechanical vibration, produced by the vibrator, to the body of the musical instrument with a characteristic having a fundamental frequency region of the musical instrument suppressed. The electric sound signal corresponding to the performed sound is imparted with an effect, the vibrator is driven by the effect-imparted sound signal, and a mechanical vibration sound is generated from the body of the musical instrument. The thus-generated mechanical vibration sound is audibly generated from the body as a vibration sound additional to the performed sound, which allows a user to experience a performance feeling that has never existed before.

MECHANICAL REVERBERATION DEVICE
20180315408 · 2018-11-01 ·

A reverberation device includes a mechanical delay device in the form of a coil from an elongate strip of metal in an example embodiment. The length can be greater than an order of magnitude greater than the height dimension. The height dimension is greater than the thickness dimension. The mechanical delay device can be fed an audio signal from an electro-mechanical transducer and output mechanical vibrations to a mechanical-electrical transducer. The coil can be folded at the center of the coil so that the input and output are both on the outside of the coil. The input path is interleaved with the output path for the signal in the coil.
