Drive system for bed
A bariatric patient management system includes a single-wheel drive system having bi-directional variable speed control through use of a variable control joystick. The single-wheel drive system is disposed on an underside of the bariatric patient management system and engages a floor surface when the bariatric bed is in a lowermost position. The bariatric patient management system further includes a removable headboard having a disconnect feature for disconnecting the variable control joystick from the single-wheel drive system when the headboard is removed. A plurality of three-setting casters is used in conjunction with the single-wheel drive to allow the bariatric patient management system to be manually turned when transported from one location to another. The bariatric patient management system further includes an improved trapeze boom that allows for additional access to a patient adjacent the headboard of the bariatric patient management system.
Patient/invalid lift with support line bearing power and data communications
A patient lift for transporting patients having a hoist assembly, a lift assembly and an integrated flexible load-bearing supporting member. The flexible load-bearing supporting member is retractable into the hoist assembly and has integrated load-bearing, data communications, and power components to transmit data and/or power to/from the hoist assembly and lift assembly.
Trauma gurney with enhanced patient transfer capabilities
A trauma gurney includes a base connected to a frame by a vertical adjustment mechanism. The base is configured that it can be maneuvered over a receiving table. The frame holds a detachable platform suitable for the positioning of a patient thereon. Actuation of the adjustment mechanism allows the frame to be lowered and the patient platform to be detached. The patient platform is configured to be non-interfering with various procedures such as MRI procedures so the patient platform can remain with the patient after the patient has been transferred without adverse effects to the procedures. The patient platform can also be reattached to the frame after it has been removed. The trauma gurney beneficially allows a patient to be transferred from the gurney to another surface, such as for imaging, without requiring a conventional lateral transfer. Similarly, the trauma gurney allows a patient to be transferred back to the gurney.
Sling bar or lift strap connector having an integrated scale with tilt compensation
Disclosed is a patient lift system having a sling bar with an inductively charged integrated scale. The lift system comprises a lift apparatus, a lift strap connected at a first end to the lift apparatus, a sling bar connected to a second free hanging end of the lift strap, the sling bar having a scale with a tension load cell integrally disposed therein for measuring forces applied thereto and a power source electrically connected to the scale to provide power to the scale and load cell. An accelerometer is disposed within the sling bar to determine a tilt angle of a lift axis of the load cell relative to a vertical direction of gravitational force. Programming stored in a processor of the integrated scale calculates an accurate weight of an active load suspended from the sling bar, based on the determined tilt angle and the measured force on the load cell.

Similarly, the trauma gurney allows a patient to be transferred back to the gurney.
PERSON LIFT DEVICES AND SCALE ASSEMBLIES FOR PERSON LIFT DEVICES INCLUDING ACCESSORY TRACKING FEATURES
In the embodiments described herein, the scale assembly automatically determines if an accessory, such as a sling, is properly connected to a sling bar of the person lifting device and, if the accessory is not properly connected, the scale assembly provides a user with a visual and/or audible warning and, in some embodiments, may lock-out the actuation controls of the person lifting device to prevent the person lifting device from being used.
PERSON LIFTING DEVICES AND METHODS FOR OPERATING PERSON LIFTING DEVICES
A person lifting device may comprise a lift actuator operatively connected to an accessory coupling. The person lifting device may also comprise at least one imaging sensor. An electronic control unit may be communicatively coupled to the lift actuator and the at least on imaging sensor, the electronic control unit comprising a processor and a non-transitory memory storing a computer readable and executable instruction set. When executed by the processor, the instruction set collects, with the at least one imaging sensor, at least one image of a person to be lifted with the person lifting device; determines a characteristic of the person to be lifted with the person lifting device based on the at least one image; determines an identification of a lift accessory for attachment to the accessory coupling based on the determined characteristic; and, in some embodiments, communicates the identification of the lift accessory.
Patient handling apparatus
A patient handling apparatus (10) comprising a base (30) with a frame (31) and a patient support device (20). The patient handling apparatus (10) further comprises a weighing arrangement (90) for weighing a patient supported by the patient support device (20), said weighing arrangement (90) comprising a sub frame (91) and a plurality of load sensors (95, 96, 97). The sub frame (91) is arranged on the load sensors (95, 96, 97), said load sensors (95, 96, 97) defining a weighing area (S), whereby the patient support device (20) is mounted to the frame (31) such that a central point (C) of a seat support portion (21) of the patient support device (20) is positioned outside the weighting area (S) in at least one position of the patient support device (20).
