Pickup assembly for an electrical stringed musical instrument
A pickup comprises a mounting component having a mounting plate, a first contact and a second contact. The pickup also has a coil component including a primary flatwork member, a secondary flatwork member, a pole therebetween, and a coil of wire wrapped around the pole. A magnet cooperates with the pole. A first coil end is electrically connected to a first coil component contact, and a second coil end is electrically connected to a second coil component contact. When assembled, the first coil component contact electrically couples to a select one of the first contact and the second contact of the mounting member regardless of the orientation of the coil component relative to the mounting plate.
FLEX ACTION TREMOLO SYSTEM AND METAL HOUSING STRING INSTRUMENT
A stringed instrument having a flex action tremolo. The assembly includes a neck of the stringed instrument that is capable of pivoting to cause the stings of the instrument to slack or tighten depending on the movement of the neck. A metal bar extends across a portion of the hollow portion of the body and is connected to the neck. There is at least one spring-loaded connection between the metal bar and the inside surface of the hollow portion of the body. This allows the metal bar and neck to pivot at one or more angles relative to the longitudinal axis of the neck, while maintaining the tuning of the guitar when the neck is returned to a neutral position.
Musical Instrument Amplifier
An onboard electronic system and associated method enables a player of an acoustic stringed instrument to control an electronic signal for modifying and amplifying sound while playing an instrument is described. The onboard electronic system is embedded in the tailpiece and/or the chinrest portions of the stringed instrument, and includes at least one pickup, a battery-powered amplification unit and at least one controller. The method includes steps for controlling sound amplification and tonal modification onboard an acoustic stringed instrument. The steps include sensing vibration from strings with a pickup, generating an electrical signal and transmitting the electrical signal to an amplification unit via an input cable, and modifying the electrical signal in response to one or more controllers located onboard the instrument.
Flex action tremolo system and metal housing string instrument
A stringed instrument having a flex action tremolo. The present invention discloses a modular pickup system that is integrated into an electric guitar that facilitates quick change-out of pickups, free form repositioning of pickups, switch assignment of pickups to the guitar's pickup switch positions or phase (polarity) selection of the pickups.
Handheld electronic musical percussion instrument
An apparatus, system, and method for an electronic handheld musical instrument that generates electronic signals for processing by a processor-based module to generate musical sounds adapted to replicate non-electronic traditional hand percussion and other handheld instruments, is provided. A piezoelectric-based trigger is secured in an enclosed volume or enclosure formed in the electronic handheld musical instrument. When manipulated by a musician in a normal fashion, freely moving beads float or travel within the enclosure of the electronic handheld musical instrument and strike against a sensitive face of the piezoelectric transducer device to create a desired sound effect.
MAGNETICALLY SECURED INSTRUMENT TRIGGER
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releasably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a drumhead or other instrument surface via magnetic force, keeping the instrument surface intact and not deforming the instrument surface. Additionally, the trigger provides for an increased sensitivity of sound by being in direct physical contact with the surface on which it is attached.

In some embodiments, the pickup is passive, not requiring an active pre-amplifier and voltage supply to shape the sound.
