APPARATUS FOR GENERATING AUDIO AND/OR PERFORMANCE SYNCHRONIZED OPTICAL OUTPUT, AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENT AND SYSTEMS THEREFOR
An apparatus for generating audio synchronized optical output is provided. The apparatus comprises an input channel to receive an input signal from an audio source and a controller. The controller is configured to receive the input signal from the input channel, analyze the input signal to determine one or more characteristics of the input signal. The apparatus associates the determined one or more characteristics of the input signal to one or more parameters of an optical output from an optical source and modulates the one or more parameters of the optical output in accordance with the one or more characteristics of the input signal. The system for generates real-time audio and/or performance synchronized optical outputs and enables connecting stage implements, musical instruments, lights, visual effects, lasers and other theatrical effects to be controllable by lighting data from human interactions with musical instruments or other stage or human interface devices.
MUSICAL NOTATION, SYSTEM, AND METHODS
In one aspect, provided herein is a device for notating a musical composition. The device, in various implementations, is structured so as to be less laborious to notate, easier to read, and more simple to employ in notating, reading, and/or playing the music of a given composition to be composed and/or played. Accordingly, in its most basic form, the device herein disclosed includes a template, upon which template one or more symbols may be notated, where such notation is configured in a manner that more closely relates the note to be played with the mechanical action needed to be performed so as to play that note, such as on an instrument to be or being played.
Practice apparatus
A practice apparatus includes a light source device that emits light beams in different colors to keystroke positions on a keyboard or a keystroke object with keystroke positions that imitates a keyboard, fluorescent paper pieces that are respectively attached to the fingers of a player and have different colors for different fingers, and a main device that has a storage unit for storing therein music information on music and a transmitting unit for transmitting, to the light source device, a signal relating to the colors of the light beams, which depend on the colors of the fluorescent paper pieces attached to the fingers of the player, and the timing of emitting the light beams, based on the music information stored in the storage unit.
System and method for a visualizing characteristics of an audio event
An electronic percussion device has a plurality of touch sensitive pad, an array of lighting elements disposed adjacent each pad, and a virtual display of the currently selected kit. The light array provides the user with immediate visual cue about the status and capabilities of the sound selections, without having to interrupt the user's performance. The user can color code and animate the illumination pattern of each light array so that, from a distance, the user is visually reminded what sounds are assigned to each pad, when sound associated with particular pad is currently playing, when playback of a sound associated with a pad is about to end.
Motion/Position-Sensing Responsive Light-Up Musical Instrument
A system is described for an enhanced bow piece of a stringed musical instrument. The enhancement includes a visual display element attached to the bow. The appearance of the display changes in response to bow motion, bow position, and one or more user-supplied inputs (e.g. buttons). The system can be entirely self-contained and used as a normal instrument bow, providing a light-up/responsive effect while the user plays their instrument in an otherwise normal way. There is some capability for multiple self-contained units to be locally synchronized, providing group-based visualizations. Alternatively, these devices can be monitored and controlled by an external control system.

SYSTEM FOR TOUCHLESS MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
Systems for a touchless musical instrument, where the touchless musical instrument includes: multiple sensors, where each sensor detects a presence of an object within a predetermined distance of the sensor; an audio speaker; a processor electrically connected to the sensors and the audio speaker; and executes instructions on the process to: receive, from the plurality of sensors, an object detection signal indicating a location of the object with respect to the plurality of sensors; generate an audio output signal based on the location of the object indicated by the object detection signal; and generate an audible output from the audio speaker by transmitting the audio output signal to the audio speaker.
INPUT INTERFACE DEVICE, ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, LIGHT EMISSION CONTROL METHOD AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An input interface device includes at least one processor. The processor performs control to cause, among light emitters, a first light emitter corresponding to a contact/proximity point detected by a detector to emit light with a luminous intensity higher than that of a remaining light emitter. The contact/proximity point is where an object is in contact with or in proximity to a detection surface. The processor further performs control, while the object is moving along the light emitters in a state in which the object is in contact with or in proximity to the detection surface, to gradually reduce a luminous intensity of, among the light emitters, a second light emitter corresponding to a point where the object being in contact with or in proximity to the detection surface once detected by the detector is no longer detected to put out the second light emitter in a predetermined time.
ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, LIGHT EMISSION CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An electronic musical instrument includes an operation receiver that receives an input operation and a processor. The operation receiver includes a rotating wheel. The rotating wheel includes a first light emitter that emits colored light. The processor causes, upon the rotating wheel receiving an input operation, the first light emitter to change an emission color from a color at a start of the input operation to a color corresponding to a rotation angle of the rotating wheel having received the input operation.
ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, OPERATION STATUS NOTIFICATION METHOD OF ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT, AND NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM
An electronic musical instrument includes an input device that receives an input operation, a display, and a processor. The processor performs a first process upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being a reference time or longer. The processor performs a second process upon duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being less than the reference time. The processor causes the display to display a content from which it is determinable whether or not duration of a detected continuation of the input operation being the reference time or longer.
