Musical input device
An input device accepts user input and generates data indicative of notes, such as MIDI data. The input device includes a set of chord keys and a set of melody keys. A desired scale is selected, and the chord keys and melody keys are configured to utilize notes associated with that scale. The chord keys may be representative of all non-inverted chords associated with that scale. Inverted chords may be accessed using other keys or key combinations. Upon activation of an individual chord key, MIDI data representative of the notes in that chord is generated. Upon activation of an individual melody key, MIDI data representative of a single note from the scale is generated. Conflicts between notes associated with activated and released keys are resolved. Keys illuminated with a color associated with a particular note facilitate user recognition of that note in the chord keys and melody keys.
MUSICAL NOTATION, SYSTEM, AND METHODS
In one aspect, provided herein is a device for notating a musical composition. The device, in various implementations, is structured so as to be less laborious to notate, easier to read, and more simple to employ in notating, reading, and/or playing the music of a given composition to be composed and/or played. Accordingly, in its most basic form, the device herein disclosed includes a template, upon which template one or more symbols may be notated, where such notation is configured in a manner that more closely relates the note to be played with the mechanical action needed to be performed so as to play that note, such as on an instrument to be or being played.
Device for controlling at least one audio or video signal with the display of information, corresponding electronic mixing controller, method and computer program product
The invention has for object a device for controlling (2) at least one audio or video signal comprising: means for controlling mounted mobile in rotation about an axis of rotation (z) on a base, first means of detecting a displacement in rotation of the means for controlling able to generate a first signal, said first signal supplying means for processing said at least one audio or video signal, with the first means of detecting comprising means for measuring the angle of rotation of the means for controlling, means for displaying and/or light-emitting means, comprising several sources of light forming at least first and second means of graduation. According to the invention, said sources of light of said first and second means of graduation are selectively controlled by said means for processing according to the measurement of the angle of the rotation of said means for controlling.
Information processing apparatus and information processing method
Provided is an information processing apparatus that is detachable from a human body. The information processing apparatus includes a control unit that generates feedback information that provides feedback. The generation of the feedback information is based on information that is based on a strength or a weakness of a keystroke of a musical instrument.
SOUND RESPONSIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM
A lighting system adjustable in response to a musical sound input is provided, where the color properties of the lights and the intensity of the lights are varied according to the variation of the sound frequency and the volume. The sound frequency signal is correlated within a controller to a first light property setting; and the sound amplitude signal is correlated to a second light property setting. As the sound frequency signal is varied between a lower and upper range, the first light property setting is similarly adjusted between a lower and upper range. As the sound amplitude signal is varied within a range, the second light property setting is similarly adjusted by the controller between a lower and upper range. In this way, the controller adjusts the color and intensity of the light to correspond to the volume and musical note of a musical input, generally from an instrument.
Illuminated Instructional Keyboard Device
The present invention relates to an illuminated instructional keyboard device. The device is primarily comprised of a housing with at least one key with at least one light source and at least one display screen. The device displays the notes of the song while each corresponding key is illuminated such that a user can see what key to press in real-time. A user can also use the mobile device/microphone of the device to identify a song that is playing nearby.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PLAYING VIRTUAL MUSIC INSTRUMENT THROUGH TRACKING OF FINGERS WITH CODED LIGHT
Finger-tracking systems and methods for virtual instruments playback. The described system tracks the position of user's ten fingers on a projection surface and can be used to play virtual instruments such as virtual piano, drums, and bells. The system tracks the movement of user's ten fingers while keeping them free of encumbrance or excessive postural constraints. More specifically, in one or more embodiments, a coded light based projector is used to send out location signal onto a flat surface, and ten light sensors are mounted on user's fingers to receive these signals and locate user's fingers. Based on their locations and relative distance to a fixed point, a printed music instrument can be used for virtual instrument music playback. With the described tracking system, various embodiments of virtual music instruments may be implemented, including a system and method for virtual piano playing as well as virtual Chinese bell playing on printed keyboard and printed Chinese bell set.

As the sound amplitude signal is varied within a range, the second light property setting is similarly adjusted by the controller between a lower and upper range. In this way, the controller adjusts the color and intensity of the light to correspond to the volume and musical note of a musical input, generally from an instrument.
