With an electronic percussion 100, a mesh-shaped head 101 is supported by a shell 103 formed into a cylindrical shape. The shell 103 includes an optical sensor 105 inside and a sensor cover body 110 outside. The optical sensor 105 includes a light emitter 105a that irradiates light to a back surface 101b of the head 101 and a light receiver 105b that receives reflected light from the back surface 101b of the head 101. This optical sensor 105 is supported by a sensor supporting body 104 at a position adjacent to the back surface 101b of the head 101. The sensor cover body 110 is formed so as to have a size with which the sensor cover body 110 covers the optical sensor 105 at the position that is opposed to the optical sensor 105 on a struck surface 101a side, which is opposite to the back surface 101b of the head 101 and which faces the optical sensor 105.

The disclosure relates to a mesh-head electronic drum, including a drum base, a drum head, a data acquisition module and a data processing module, wherein the data acquisition module includes a trigger unit and a conduction medium, the conduction medium is a magnetic unit, the magnetic unit is arranged on the drum head, and the trigger unit includes a Hall sensor coupled with the magnetic unit in a non-contact way. The disclosure is advantageous in that the trigger unit and the conduction medium have no direct contact with each other and thus no bad contact is caused, but an accurate audio signal can still be generated.

An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releaseably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided. The trigger and securing device are disposed on either side of a drumhead or other instrument surface via magnetic force, keeping the instrument surface intact and not deforming the instrument surface. Additionally, the trigger provides for an increased sensitivity of sound by being in direct physical contact with the surface on which it is attached.

Provided are an electronic percussion instrument and a control device thereof. The electronic percussion instrument includes central and peripheral sensors, first and second waiting devices, and a sound production instruction device. When the central sensor detects a strike earlier than the peripheral sensor, the first waiting device performs a first waiting process for a first predetermined time after the central sensor detects the strike. When the peripheral sensor detects a strike earlier than the central sensor, the second waiting device performs a second waiting process for a second predetermined time after the peripheral sensor detects the strike. The sound production instruction device instructs production of a striking sound after the first waiting process of the first waiting device ends, or after the second waiting process of the second waiting device ends if the central sensor has not detected a strike within the second waiting process of the second waiting device.
