Fail-safe release mechanism for use with patient positioning support apparati
A surgery table includes a patient support structure coupled to a connection assembly and a base structure coupled to the connection assembly. The connection assembly includes an arm and a locking member that engages the arm. The arm includes spaced apart first and second apertures. The locking member includes spaced apart first and second bores. A first key member and a second key member are included.
SUBJECT AND SURGICAL EQUIPMENT MONITORING SYSTEMS
A surgical monitoring system including a machine vision sensor, an electronic controller communicatively coupled to the machine vision sensor, the electronic controller including a processor and a memory storing a computer readable instruction set, where, when the computer readable instruction set is executed by the processor, the electronic controller, detects a position of a subject with the machine vision sensor, detects a position of a person support apparatus, compares the detected position of the subject with the detected position of the person support apparatus, and determines if the detected position of the subject and the detected position of the person support apparatus indicates that the subject is not aligned with the person support apparatus.
Surgical frame having translating lower beam and method for use thereof
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a translating beam that is moveable between at least a first lateral position and a second lateral position. The translating beam is used to join a first support portion and a second support portion of the surgical frame to one another, and movement of the translating beam affords access to a patient receiving area.
SURGERY PILLOW AND DEVICE COMBINING ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE HOLDER, BITE GUARD, AND PATIENT EYE PROTECTOR
A surgery apparatus includes a resilient foam pillow having an arrangement of labeled tabs for holding lines leading to/from a patient during and after surgery. A central cutout area in the pillow accommodates the patient's eyes, nose and mouth when in the prone position. Left and right channels in the foam pillow extend from a top edge of the pillow to the central cutout area for holding a breathing tube system. The foam pillow further includes a removably attachable chest support and opposite shoulder supports. A multipurpose holder device for placement on the patient's head has an arrangement of straps for securing an eye shield, a bite block and ventilator tube securing straps on the patient during surgery.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED ELECTROMAGNETIC TRACKING
Tracking a pose of a portion of an anatomical structure using a bi-directional electromagnetic navigation system may include generating a signal comprising a plurality of frequencies. The signal may be received at a bi-directional coil array that comprises a plurality of bi-directional micro coils configured to both generate electromagnetic fields and detect electromagnetic fields generated by neighboring bi-directional micro coils. Each of the plurality of bi-directional micro coils may be coupled to a portion of a structure. In response to receiving the signal, an electromagnetic field may be generated at each of the plurality of bi-directional micro coils. At least one of the generated electromagnetic fields may be detected at a neighboring bi-directional micro coil of a bi-directional micro coil that is generating the at least one detected electromagnetic field. A pose of the bi-directional micro coil that is generating the at least one detected electromagnetic field may be determined.
PATIENT POSITIONING DEVICE FOR LATERAL AND PRONE SINGLE-POSITION SPINE SURGERY
A patient positioner for supporting a patient in a prone position includes a base plate, an adjustable platform movable relative to the base plate, a support assembly supported on the adjustable platform, a lateral constraint assembly positioned on the adjustable platform, and a position lock operable to selectively lock the adjustable platform relative to the base plate. The patient positioner is adjustable to adjust the position of the patient and to adjust the orientation of the patient's spine in the coronal and sagittal planes.
FAIL-SAFE RELEASE MECHANISM FOR USE WITH PATIENT POSITIONING SUPPORT APPARATI
A fail-safe release mechanism for use with patient positioning support apparati having a base structure and a patient support structure, to prevent collapse of the patient support during disconnection of the patient support structure from the base structure.
ROTATION LOCKOUT FOR SURGICAL SUPPORT
Devices, systems, and methods for patient support include arrangement of a patient support top for rotation and a rotation lockout assembly for selectively blocking against rotation of the patient support top.
Autonomus and user-input reconfigurable proning bed and method for reconfiguring proning bed in the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
There is provided a reconfigurable autonomous and user-input proning bed. The proning bed includes controllers and at least one of: a head position system (HPS) to detect a position of the head of the patient configurable and reconfigurable to be automatically positioned; an arms position system (APS) to detect the presence of the arms of the patient and change a level and inclination of APS upper sections and APS lower sections; a legs position system (LPS) to detect the presence of the legs of the patient and change a level and inclination of LPS upper sections and LPS lower sections; and a body position system (BPS) to detect the presence of the torso of the patient and change a level and inclination of a BPS upper section and a BPS lower section. The proning bed can include an integrated entertainment position system and side rail position system.
Lift and method for use of a lift for positioning a patient relative to a surgical frame
A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.
