Modular Knee Extension Device
A modular device is configured to provide different levels of knee extension to a patient by being moveable between an assembled or rest configuration and a detached or therapy configuration. The device includes a proximal section with an inclined upper surface and a separate distal section with an inclined upper surface. When attached, the proximal and distal sections form a single continuous incline for supporting a patient's leg. At least one of the sections also includes an ankle supporting cavity that holds the patient's ankle and heel and provides greater stretching/extension of the patient's knee.
PORTABLE PATIENT TURNING DEVICE
A portable patient turning device is provided comprising an inflatable mattress cover having a planar surface configured to substantially cover the surface of a bed, and a control unit connected to the inflatable mattress cover by one or more air hoses. The inflatable mattress cover further comprises a first inflatable chamber proximate to and extending along a left edge of the planar surface, a second inflatable chamber proximate to and extending along a right edge of the planar surface, and a spine cushion positioned between the first inflatable chamber and the second inflatable chamber and extending along a middle portion of the planar surface for at least a portion of the length of the first inflatable chamber and second inflatable chamber.
SLEEPING OR RECLINING FURNITURE WITH A SENSOR
The invention relates to a piece of sleeping or reclining furniture, comprising a support element (2) for applying a padding or a mattress and at least one sensor (12) for detecting vibrations, movement, and/or sound. The piece of sleeping or reclining furniture is characterized in that the at least one sensor (12) is arranged at a section (120) of the support element (2) that is decoupled from further sections of the support element (2) and/or of the sleeping or reclining furniture.
Articulating Patient Positioning Apparatus
An apparatus comprises means for engaging a patient platform. The means comprises at least one layer of laminar sheeting of radiolucent material. At least one anatomical support member which comprises at least one layer of laminar sheeting of radiolucent material. At least one articulating joint unit is in engagement with the at least one of anatomical support member. The at least one articulating joint unit comprise at least one layer of laminar sheeting of radiolucent material with a primarily non-metallic connector at a central pivot point. The at least one articulating joint unit is positionable in at least a vertical and horizontal orientations enabling positioning of portions of an anatomy in three dimensions along x, y, and z axes. At least one primarily non-metallic locking member is configured to lock the at least one articulating joint unit at selectable position(s), in which a load bearing stress is spread across lengths of the laminar sheeting to mitigate a susceptibility to stress fractures and load failure.
Disposable bio-secure environmental unit
A low cost, disposable bio-secure environment to temporarily hold, and where required to transport, patients who are suspected of having an infectious or contagious disease requiring contact, droplet and/or respiratory isolation precautions. The described Environmental Unit's unique design provides a unit that is disposable and relatively inexpensive. The frame is designed to integrate and adapt to various hospital stretchers and beds. The unit is large enough for a patient to sit up and allows movement of arms and legs and the ability to eat and drink while isolated on a bed.
SURGICAL ROTATIONAL UNIT WITH IMPROVED ROTATIONAL LOCKING
Rotation unit (16) for connecting to an operating table for rotation of a patient's leg about its longitudinal axis, wherein the rotation unit (16) comprises: an interface (24) for attachment of the foot of the patient's leg on the rotation unit (16); a rotor, to which the interface (24) is connected in a torsionally resistant manner and which is used for rotation of the interface (24) and thus of the patient's leg about the longitudinal axis; a stator (42), on which the rotor is rotatably mounted, such that the rotor can rotate relative to the stator; a rotary handle (22) for rotation of the rotor; and a locking assembly (26) for blocking the rotation of the rotor relative to the stator. The locking assembly (26) can be actuated by means of an action on the rotary handle.
Surgical Positioner
In general, various surgical patient positioners and methods for using the same are provided. For example, a surgical patient support is provided for use during anterior hip replacement surgery. The surgical patient support can have a body support configured to receive an upper body of a patient thereon and one or more extremity supports configured to receive one or more patient extremities thereon.
Wrist support board
A wrist support board has a board with a ventral surface and an opposite dorsal surface, a smooth curve lengthwise, a proximal end to the board and an opposite distal end, a proximal strap, a distal strap, and a center strap. The proximal strap and the distal strap extend from the ventral surface and wrap a patient's arm placed upon the dorsal surface. The center strap extends through slots in the board proximate the vertex of the curve. The center strap enwraps a patient's arm slightly proximal from the patient's wrist. The proximal strap, the distal strap, and the center strap are perpendicular to the board. The three straps secure near their own centers to the board and present two free ends that wrap around a patient's arm. The wrist support board assists in the immobilizing, stabilizing, and hyper-exposure of the trans-radial artery of a patient.
HEAD PLATE PROVIDED FOR AN OPERATING TABLE AND ADJUSTABLE WITH ONE HAND
Multi-part displaceable head plate (1) for an operating table (30), comprising: a coupling arrangement (2), a positioning segment (3) for positioning the head plate (1), a head support segment (4) for supporting the head of the patient, and an unlocking device (24) for unlocking two joint arrangements (5), (6).
The positioning segment (3) and the head support segment (4) are each pivotably connected to the coupling arrangement (2) and to the positioning segment (3), via a first (5) and a second (6) joint arrangement respectively.
Articulating patient positioning apparatus
An apparatus having at least one anatomical support member which comprises at least one layer of laminar sheeting and at least one articulating joint unit is in engagement with the at least one of anatomical support member. The joint is positionable in at least a vertical and horizontal orientations enabling smooth positioning of portions of an anatomy in three dimensions such that translational and/or rotational centrepoints in its x, y and z axes substantially coincide. The joint is preferably made of by material(s) that do not cause substantial radiographic or nuclear imaging artifacts when medically imaged thereby.
