Apparatus and method for an effortless transition to a prone position for patients suffering from SARS-CoV-2
The invention relates to a prone position device that is modular and has universal integration capability, for an effortless transition to a prone position in patients suffering from SARS-CoV-2 or any acute respiratory distress syndrome through the use of a mechanical means that may be fitted into a full spectrum of beds to support a multitude of resting positions for the patient.
Single and dual column patient positioning support structure
A surgical table for supporting a patient over a floor and including a base assembly, a support column assembly and a patient support structure. The base assembly supported on the floor and including a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a member extending along a base longitudinal axis between the first and second ends. The support column assembly moveably coupled with the base assembly and configured to translate between the first and second ends of the base assembly along the member extending therebetween, the support column assembly being the only support column assembly coupled with the base assembly. The patient support structure including a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the first and second ends, the second end of the patient support structure supported off of the support column assembly in a cantilevered fashion.
Patient raiser
The application relates to a device for, and method of transferring a patient on a bed between a lying position along a bed to a seated position facing the side of a bed. The device comprises an arm hold to allow the patient to clinch the arm hold to his or her chest, thereby enabling the device to transfer the patient between a lying position and a seated position. Preferably, the device further comprises a leg support to assist in transferring the lower portion of the patients body between a lying position and a seated position.
System, method and apparatus to prevent and treat a disease by optimization of sleep posture and assisted rollovers
A body support system, method and apparatus is described, for preventing and treating a disease or injury by optimization of sleep posture and assisted rollovers. A body support device comprises two or more extendable, retractable support walls, for supporting various parts of a user as a cradle of the body support device is rotated into various positions.
SYSTEM, DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STABLE AIRWAY MANAGEMENT
Embodiments of a device facilitate controlled positioning and manipulation of an individual's relative head, neck and jaw positions to facilitate stable airway management. In various embodiments, the device includes a base to which support arms are movably attached. A thrust arm is movably attached to each support arm and a jaw disc is attached to each thrust arm and adapted for rotation in accommodating various shapes and sizes of patient jaws.
Sleeping or reclining furniture with a sensor
The invention relates to a piece of sleeping or reclining furniture, comprising a support element (2) for applying a padding or a mattress and at least one sensor (12) for detecting vibrations, movement, and/or sound. The piece of sleeping or reclining furniture is characterized in that the at least one sensor (12) is arranged at a section (120) of the support element (2) that is decoupled from further sections of the support element (2) and/or of the sleeping or reclining furniture.
Patient positioning device
Various embodiments, aspects and features of the present solution encompass a manually adjustable patient positioning device that is configured to reside on an operating table and outside the sterile field of a surgical environment. A carriage assembly rides along a pair of parallel guide rails and supports a cushioning device. A patient's foot, for example, may be placed on the cushioning device such that repositioning of the carriage assembly along the guide rails causes manipulation of the position and degree of articulation for the patient's knee during an orthopedic surgery.
Systems and methods for maintaining patient position
Some systems, devices and methods detailed herein provide adjustable restraint device maintaining a selected position of a person relative to a support structure, for example, to maintain a safe and customizable patient position during a surgical procedure or during medical transport. For example, in particular embodiments, the adjustable restraint devices can be releasably lockable at a customized position along the surgical table and can be conveniently manipulated to a curved or other customized configuration (e.g., to engage with a patient's limb) before being releasably locked into that particular customized configuration.
Pillow system
A pillow system for use by a user laying on their back, such as for use after a mastectomy or other surgery. The pillow system provides a cushioning and supportive system. In one particular implementation, the pillow system has two elongate side pillows for placing under and extending from at least a user's shoulders to the user's knees. The two side pillows have an inner edge that includes two concave regions, thus when the two pillows are placed next to or alongside each other, two generally void areas are formed. The pillow system may include a head pillow and/or a support pillow(s), such as a wedge-shaped pillow.
Adjustable Mattress For Recovery After Lower Trunk Surgical And Other Procedures
The present invention is directed to a mattress which is useful for people who have had gluteal surgery such as but not limited to gluteoplasty, commonly known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, Butt Implants, Fat Transfer, Fat Grafting, Liposuction, Pilonidal cystectomy, or other procedures affecting the lower rear area of a human trunk, which result in a person being uncomfortable when lying supine or sitting after the surgery or other procedure. The mattress in certain embodiments has an opening with at least one tube-shaped cushion which is adjustable for people with different body sizes and stages of recovery. The at least one tube-shaped cushion may be continuous, toroidal, round, square, rectangular, triangular, or any regular or irregular shape that would fit the buttocks. The at least one tube-shaped cushion may be inflatable, detachable, or permanently affixed in the opening. The mattress in certain embodiments may have the at least one tube-shaped cushion concentrically placed. The mattress in certain embodiments may have a raised back support for comfort along with a raised foot support to reduce the chance of blood clots. In other embodiments, the mattress can have an opening on a top or first side and a larger opening on a bottom or second side so that the mattress is reversible to accommodate different body sizes and stages of recovery. In other embodiments, the mattress may have at least one tube-shaped cushion in an opening on a top or first side and a larger opening on a bottom or second side to accommodate different body sizes and different stages of recovery. In other embodiments, the mattress may have a lumbar and thigh support which may be adjustable. The mattress and the tube-shaped cushion may be self-inflating in the case that they are inflatable.
