Insulating garment for firefighter bunker gear
11078610 · 2021-08-03 · ·

An insulating garment for use as thermal and moist repellent barrier in a firefighter bunker gear is disclosed, the garment being adapted to be worn by a firefighter under a bunker gear. The garment being made from a fire-resistant insulating fabric comprising: a first woven or knitted fire-resistant fabric layer; a second woven or knitted fire-resistant fabric layer; and at least one monofilament yarn interconnecting the first and second layers, thereby creating an insulating space between the layers. Each monofilament yarn is made of a material having a compressive strength from about 0.5 to about 2.5 cN.Math.cm/cm.sup.2 and a resilience superiors or equals to about 25% to maintain the insulating space between the layers and therefore thermal and moist insulation. Preferably, the material further has a high melting point and/or high transition temperatures. The material of the monofilament yarn may comprise polyphenylene sulphide (PPS), polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or Polyetherimide (ULTEM™).

The therapeutic apparel article is configured with a plurality of nodes for detachably attaching vibrating devices thereto. In addition, a control unit having a power source may be detachably attached to the wearable fabric article. A conductive network may extend from the control unit and/or the power source to provide electrical power to the nodes and the vibrating devices attached. A user may attach vibrating devices to various nodes of the wearable fabric article as desired. In addition, the vibrating devices and the control unit can be detached from the wearable fabric article to enable the wearable fabric article to be washed.

System and method for wireless charging of smart garments
11096429 · 2021-08-24 · ·

Techniques for wirelessly charging smart textiles, such as smart garments, are provided. Aspects of the present application provide a smart garment device with an array of integrated coils and rectifiers that enable wireless charging of the device from a drawer or other enclosure that produces a roughly uniform AC magnetic field. The smart garment can draw power from the magnetic field once placed within the enclosure, regardless of how the garment is placed in the enclosure. The method can be applied to garments of any shape, and multiple garments can be charged simultaneously by placing the multiple garments into the same magnetic field.

Method for assembling a garment portion

A method for assembling a garment portion including accessing a first garment portion, a second garment portion and a fixture, wherein the first garment portion is generally tubular and has two plies. The method further includes positioning the first garment portion on the fixture such that the fixture is positioned in the first garment portion, and wrapping the second garment portion about the first garment portion. The method further includes unrolling or unfolding at least part of the first garment portion over the second garment portion such that the second garment portion is positioned between the two plies of the first garment portion.

Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for a clothing article including a first fabric having a first set of threads coupled to one another, wherein each thread in the first set of threads includes a metal compound with electropermanent magnet properties. Additionally, a second fabric may be coupled to the first fabric, wherein the second fabric includes a second set of threads having the metal compound with electropermanent magnet properties. In one example, electrical current may be applied to one or more target threads, wherein the electrical current may initiate a slide of the first fabric across the second fabric and/or initiate creation of a fold among the target threads.

The technology described herein relates to a pair of long pants garment panel comprising a pattern of a durable water-repellant (DWR) coating that is selectively applied on to the pant legs of the pair of long pants. The pattern is comprised of a plurality of discrete shapes that are isolated from one another. In other words, the textile material surrounding each discrete shape in the plurality of discrete shapes is not coated by the DWR coating. A size of the plurality of discrete shapes in the pattern is gradually decreased moving up the pant legs starting from a hemmed edge up to a knee area. The pattern is visible during wet conditions and not visible during dry conditions.

The disclosure discloses a positioning laser 3D four-layer air thermal ventilation channel fabric and a method for processing the same. The disclosure is characterized by comprising a closed face cloth layer and a closed bottom cloth layer, wherein the closed face cloth layer comprises face base cloth, a pu environmental-friendly glue layer and a differentiated TPU polyurethane film from top to bottom, the closed bottom cloth layer successively comprises the differentiated TPU polyurethane film, the pu environmental-friendly glue layer and bottom lining cloth from top to bottom, and the face base cloth is provided with laser cutting points for laser visual recognition. During the processing, the closed face cloth layer and the closed bottom cloth layer are prefabricated, then channels on the fabric are glued, and finally patterns and ventilation points are cut by using laser. The disclosure has the advantages that down feathers are replaced with air in the channels, so the fabric of the disclosure is light and has no down feather running phenomenon, the cost is lower, and the air can be collected and freely released and is convenient for storage.

Collaboration in an Apparel Design System

A system allows a user to create new designs for apparel and preview these designs before manufacture. Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. Users may communicate with other users on how wear patterns should be applied onto base garments and make changes to the wear patterns or other garment features, while sharing with other users their progress.
