Chair
A chair includes a seat (2) and also includes a pair of thigh support elements (17) pivotal n a generally downwardly direction about front pivot axes (20) from a first state forming with a central seat element (15) a substantially common plane, to a second downwardly extending state. The elements (17) are also pivotal about second pivot axes in a generally rearwardly direction for urging the user's thighs away from each other for stretching the adductor muscles. Foot support members (49) extend transversely and sidewardly on respective opposite sides of the chair (1) from a support element (46) for supporting the foot during a stretching exercise with the corresponding thigh of the subject extending downwardly from the seat (14) and the lower leg extending from the knee in a upwardly inclined direction to the foot support member (49) for stretching the quadriceps and the hip flexor muscles of the subject.
BALANCE TRAINING METHOD USING WEARABLE DEVICE AND THE WEARABLE DEVICE
A balance training method using a wearable device, and the wearable device are disclosed. The balance training method using the wearable device configured to provide a walking assist function includes executing a balance training mode of the wearable device and supplying an irregular pattern torque to an actuator of the wearable device at a time point or in a time period in the balance training mode.
Orthopedic exercise apparatus
The disclosed inventive concept provides an orthopedic exercise apparatus for accommodating a wheelchair-bound user and allowing the user to perform low-load prolonged stretching without getting out of his or her existing wheelchair. The apparatus includes a base having a top sheet and a bottom sheet secured thereto, and a T-shaped structure mounted to and extending perpendicular to the base. The T-shaped structure includes a stabilization post having an adjustable height and a cross-bar mounted to the top end of the stabilization post. The cross-bar is lowered onto the user's thighs in order to limit stretching to the user's knee or provide passive a dorsiflexion force to the ankle. The apparatus can be used in conjunction with a pulleyed weight station for treating knee flexion contractures or, alternatively, with a pair of ankle blocks removably fitted within the base for treating ankle plantar flexion contractures.
Preloaded Personal Augmentation Suit and Method for Assisted Human Motion
A human motion assistance device has an upper torso harness and a preloaded leg strap arrangement affixed to the upper torso harness. The preloaded leg strap arrangement has an X-bracket connected to the upper torso harness. The preloaded leg strap arrangement further uses a plurality of blocks and a preloaded strap routed through the blocks and connected to the X-bracket. The preloaded leg strap arrangement further uses a knee pad with a split seam. The preloaded strap is under tension, even when the human motion assistance device is in a relaxed state. The preloading provides an immediate force which increases under a loaded state. The potential energy stored during the loaded state is released when transitioning from a standing position to a crouched, squatting, or seated position. The configuration allows for maximizing the energy storage without putting excess shoulder pressure on the user when standing.
JOINT SUPPORT UNIT AND WALKING SUPPORT APPARATUS
To provide a joint support unit, etc. capable of being worn on both left and right joints. A joint support unit includes a first link worn on one end side of a joint portion, a second link worn on the other end side of the joint portion, and rotatably coupled to the first link, a driving unit configured to perform rotation driving of the second link, and a rotation regulating unit configured to regulate a rotation direction and a rotation range of the second link. The rotation regulating unit includes an engagement body provided in one of the links, and an engagement part provided in the other one of the links, and engaging with the engagement body, the engagement part includes two guiding paths and that guide the engagement body moving according to the rotation direction of the second link in different directions, and a communication path.
SYSTEM FOR REHABILITATING THE WALK AND WEIGHT SUPPORTING DEVICE FOR SUCH
A system is described, for rehabilitating the walk comprising an active exoskeleton with a supporting structure for right leg and left leg, bearing and moving structures of femur, tibia and foot of the patient, a weight supporting device for patient and active exoskeleton, the weight supporting device ending with a structure connected to means for supporting exoskeleton and patient, handling means connected to the weight supporting device to allow its movement, means for transmitting to the weight supporting device electric and pneumatic supplies and electric signals for managing, controlling, monitoring and diagnosing the system, a managing system comprising a microprocessor for acquiring and processing data, and managing a motion neuro-rehabilitation session; a weight supporting device for a system for rehabilitating the walk is further described.
Rehabilitation mechanism for patients confined to bed
A rehabilitation mechanism rehabilitates the joints, muscles, and tendons of the legs of a bedridden patient in an automated manner according to a plan. A knee module can be operatively connected to the knee joint of the patient. A control module controls rehabilitation movements by way of the knee module. The knee module is a module to be arranged above the patient and the mattress, which module is supported directly or indirectly on a bed or the mattress frame, and includes a knee prosthesis which receives a knee joint of the patient, a connection element connected to the knee prosthesis, an extension arm to which the connection element is secured, and a mechanism to be actuated by the control module and which introduces a defined force into the knee prosthesis via the extension arm and the connection element to carry out rehabilitation movements according to a plan.
Exercise device
This application discloses a portable exercise device for flexibility and strengthening. In some embodiments, the device is comprised of one elastic band of surgical tubing or like material and one non-elastic band, with two pairs of looped handles tied to each end of the elastic band. These looped handles can attach to a user's limb without any need for grasping. The non-elastic end of the device can be affixed to an anchor point. The exercise device offers light but adjustable resistance via a resistance modulator, allowing the user to engage in a full range of standing and seated exercises with forces comparable to swimming. In addition, two instances of the device can be combined to engage both the user's hands and feet simultaneously.
