WALKING SUPPORT SYSTEM
20220370283 · 2022-11-24 ·

It is determined whether a traffic light is recognized in an image based on each of a result of a recognition operation by a traffic light first recognition unit (a recognition operation of the traffic light for an image acquired by a camera using a learned model based on pre-annotated data) and a result of a recognition operation by a traffic light second recognition unit (a recognition operation of the traffic light for an image acquired by the camera based on a feature amount of the traffic light). This makes it possible to sufficiently obtain the recognition accuracy of the traffic light, and to appropriately perform an instruction to a pedestrian according to the state of the traffic light.

MOBILITY SUPPORT DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

In a mobility support device, an external device that is present on a moving route of a user who is a target of support is identified based on a set moving plan, and first communication means that enables direct communication between the identified external device and a white cane carried by the user is established. Then, support information for supporting mobility of the user is generated based on information received from the external device by the first communication means, and the generated support information is output to an output device.

A smart walking stick made up of main parcels including the upper body forming the upper body and the lower body elements forming the lower body. With the aim of positioning the hand correctly for the visually impaired user, sensors are provided, which contain technological elements such as soft-grip upper gripping surface and the lower gripping surface, touch mouse, vibration motors and a smart module that allows the user freedom of movement. A folding bar forms the stick portion of the movement-releasing smart walking stick which can be replaced by a snap-fit method, with the motion-liberating smart walking stick this allows the visually impaired user to easily, safely and comfortably navigate with location information, which increases the freedom of movement, to detect and protect the obstacles in front of the movement, and to maintain a more ergonomic life.

NAVIGATION APPARATUS

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described that are configured for determining a path of an apparatus, engaging a motor to cause the apparatus to proceed along the path, receiving one or more of LIDAR data, ultrasonic data, or optical flow data, determining, based on one or more of the LIDAR data, the ultrasonic data, or the optical flow data, one or more objects in the path of the apparatus, and engaging the motor to cause the apparatus to avoid the one or more objects.

SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND DEVICES FOR ENVIRONMENT DETECTION FOR THE VISION IMPAIRED

Systems, devices, and methods are provided which provide a processor in a server computer, a device including an optical sensor, and a cane. The device may be connected electronically to a cane through wired or wireless technology. The cane may include a haptic controller which provides a notification to a user.

Tactile warning panel system with geothermal system

The present invention relates to tactile warning panels, and in particular to tactile warning panels that are designed and built with multifunction/multipurpose capabilities that serve the visually impaired and enable the deployment of smart city technology by integrating tactile warning systems and subsurface enclosures that can withstand pressures of five (5) tons up to and exceeding sixty (60) tons and incorporate small cells, beacons, sensors, Fog Computing, electric energy generation, rechargeable power supplies, wireless M2M communication and a plethora of other smart city technologies.

Walking support system

When it is determined that a presence of a traffic light is not recognized in an image acquired by a first image acquisition operation by a camera, the presence of the traffic light is recognized in an image acquired by a second image acquisition operation in which a recognition accuracy of the presence of the traffic light is improved. In this second image acquisition operation, it is assumed that a pedestrian is stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing, and there is little demand for increasing a detection speed of objects such as moving objects present in a surrounding area. Thus, it is possible to sufficiently obtain the recognition accuracy of the traffic light by the second image acquisition operation that gives priority to the recognition accuracy of the presence of the traffic light.

Spatial guidance system for visually impaired individuals

Method, systems, and apparatus to facilitate navigation in a known environment. Communication and tracking between a receiver device and one or more beacons are provided to identify a current position of the receiver device. A direction to a next waypoint of a current path is determined based on the identified current position and a haptic feedback system is signaled to provide continuous haptic feedback to orient a user in the identified direction.

ENABLING THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED WITH AR USING FORCE FEEDBACK
20220323286 · 2022-10-13 ·

A system and method provide feedback to a user, such as a visually impaired user, to guide the user to an object in the field of view of a camera mounted on a frame worn on the head of the user. A processor identifies at least one object and a body part of the user in the field of view of the camera and tracks relative positions of the body part relative to the identified object. The processor also generates and communicates at least one control signal for guiding the body part of the user to the identified object to a user feedback device worn on or adjacent the body part of the user. The feedback device receives the control signal(s) and converts the control signal(s) into at least one of sounds or haptic feedback that guides the body part to the identified object.

Method and system for providing information to a user

A method for providing information to a user, preferably including: determining environmental information; determining a set of features based on the information; determining output parameters based on the features; and controlling a sensory output system to generate outputs based on the output parameters. A sensory output device, preferably including a plurality of sensory output actuators. A system for providing information to a user, preferably including one or more: sensory output devices, sensors, and computing systems.
