SENSORY BAND FOR OBSTACLE DETECTION IN THE VISUAL FIELD OF A USER WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT
The present invention relates to the technical field of physiotherapeutic apparatuses and devices for locating or stimulating reflex points in the body of a patient. Specifically, it provides a sensory band comprising a frame having two arched arms, two antennas, a pair of ultrasonic transducers, three vibrators, and a microcontroller operatively connected to said pair of ultrasonic transducers, and to said three vibrators. The present invention further provides a method for obstacle detection that comprises said sensory band, wherein said method comprises the steps of transmitting an ultrasonic wave by means of said pair of ultrasonic transducers; measuring the reflection of said ultrasonic wave by means of said pair of ultrasonic transducers; providing vibrations to said three vibrators, from the reflection characteristics of said ultrasonic wave; wherein said vibration varies depending on the reflection characteristics of said ultrasonic wave.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GUIDING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSON FOR WALKING USING 3D SOUND POINT
Herein disclosed a system and method of an intelligent visually impaired guiding system to help visually impaired people navigate easily when walking. The purpose of this invention is to create method, system, and apparatus, which assist the navigation of visually impaired people when walking, by following the trajectory path constructed by the system based on real-time environment condition. The invention provides an intelligent method of 3D sound point generation by utilizing the natural ability of humans to localize sounds. Therefore, this invention will eliminate biased information when navigating and increase the level of independence of visually impaired people.
Whole-body human-computer interface
A human-computer interface system having an exoskeleton including a plurality of structural members coupled to one another by at least one articulation configured to apply a force to a body segment of a user, the exoskeleton comprising a body-borne portion and a point-of-use portion; the body-borne portion configured to be operatively coupled to the point-of-use portion; and at least one locomotor module including at least one actuator configured to actuate the at least one articulation, the at least one actuator being in operative communication with the exoskeleton.
Information processing apparatus and information processing method
There is provided an information processing apparatus including a processing unit to set, on a basis of acquired input information, a feedback target range in which an object existing on inside serves as a target to be fed back to a user, in which the processing unit outputs information regarding the set feedback target range to an output unit.
TACTILE SENSE PRESENTATION DEVICE, TACTILE SENSE PRESENTATION METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A tactile sense presentation device includes: an object information acquisition part configured to acquire, as a state of an object, object information related to at least one selected from the group of a position, a direction, a distance, a speed, an acceleration, and urgency; and a tactile stimulus presentation part configured to present the state of the object as a tactile stimulus in a pseudo manner based on the object information.
Wearable Devices, Systems, Methods and Architectures for Sensory Stimulation and Manipulation and Physiological Data Acquisition
A garment with prepositioned, definite sensory stimulating devices attached. The sensory stimulating devices include, but are not limited to, electrical stimulation, audio and physical stimulation such as localized force generation, compression, constriction, vibration, and surround sound. Predetermined and defined actuators allow the wearer to receive tissue, nerve and/or muscle stimulation and/or contraction so that the stimulation is precise as determined by its ability to conform to the scientific methodology of repeatability, reproducibility and reliability; this being due to consistency of actuator positioning in one or multiple locals on the human body. A personal surround sound can also be integrated to the garment to ensure the wearer is always in the optimal position relative to the speakers. These actuators can be force generators within the garment for the wearer to feel impact or apparatus or electrodes included in the garment to locally constrict and increase pressure to the wearer.
Walking aid system
An image area including a traffic light in an image taken by a camera is determined, and the determined image area including the traffic light is extracted and the extracted image area is subjected to enlargement processing to determine whether a status of the traffic light is red or green, and notice to start crossing is provided to a user under a condition that the status of the traffic light switches from red to green. Consequently, even with image information from a single camera alone, accuracy in recognition of the traffic light can sufficiently be enhanced. As a result, crossing start notice can properly be provided without an increase in configuration complexity and weight of the system.
CLOTHING ITEM
A clothing item, in particular a belt, with at least two actuators for triggering tactile stimuli for a person wearing the clothing item, wherein the at least two actuators are or can be connected to a control unit for actuating the actuators, the control unit is formed to activate the at least two actuators within the scope of at least two activation patterns, and the at least two activation patterns are assigned to different action instructions for the person wearing the clothing item, which action instructions can be output to the person wearing the clothing item via the activation of the activation patterns, wherein the at least two activation patterns include the combined activation of the at least two actuators at different parts of the body that are distinguishable for the person wearing the clothing item.
NAVIGATION APPARATUS
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described that are configured for determining a path of an apparatus, engaging a motor to cause the apparatus to proceed along the path, receiving one or more of LIDAR data, ultrasonic data, or optical flow data, determining, based on one or more of the LIDAR data, the ultrasonic data, or the optical flow data, one or more objects in the path of the apparatus, and engaging the motor to cause the apparatus to avoid the one or more objects.
