Compression device having cooling capability
A compression device has improved cooling capability. The device includes a wicking layer adapted to move moisture. A portion of the wicking layer is exposed from under bladder material defining a bladder. In use, the wicking layer wicks moisture from the patient's limb and the wicked moisture is able to evaporate through the device at the portion of the wicking layer that is exposed.
MITT FOR COMPRESSION GARMENTS
A wraparound portion of compression garments may include a mitt defining a mitt opening. A user may place their hand in the mitt opening of the mitt to assist in donning the compression garments about their body. For example, the wraparound portion of the compression garment may be located in awkward position for a human user to grasp, and the mitt and mitt opening may assist a user in grasping and moving the wraparound portion about their body.
Barrel inflatable belt
An inflatable belt 100 for use in a BFR system with an outer belt material 102 hermetically sealed to an inner belt material 101 along a perimeter, thereby forming at least one inflatable chamber 103, the inflatable chamber having an input port 104 for accepting a gas into the chamber, the inflatable belt further comprising a first fastening means 110 in communication with the outer belt material, for attaching to a second fastening means 111 in communication with the outer belt material, thereby locking a circumference of the inflatable belt, when wrapped around a user's limb.
Compression Stocking with Adjustable Compression Pressure
The invention relates to a compression stocking with adjustable compression pressure for therapeutic compression of a limb, comprising a stocking element with a pressure compartment and a valve mechanism, the valve mechanism comprising: —a valve seat attached to the stocking element; —a valve lid attached to the valve seat or formed thereon, wherein the passage extends through the valve seat and the valve lid; —a valve provided in the passage and embodied to be movable between a closing position, in which the valve closes the passage airtightly, and a position allowing passage, in which the valve leaves the passage at least partially open; and —at least a connecting part between the valve and the valve seat and/or the valve lid for flexible attachment of the valve to the valve seat and/or the valve lid, wherein the at least one connecting part is embodied to urge the valve toward the closing position under bias.
Efficacy based feedback system for blood flow restriction training
An inflatable belt 100 for use in a BFR system with an outer belt material 102 hermetically sealed to an inner belt material 101 along a perimeter, thereby forming at least one inflatable chamber 103, the inflatable chamber having an input port 104 for accepting a gas into the chamber, the inflatable belt further comprising a first fastening means 110 in communication with the outer belt material, for attaching to a second fastening means 111 in communication with the outer belt material, thereby locking a circumference of the inflatable belt, when wrapped around a user's limb, efficacy feedback means 200 for gathering efficacy feedback data 205, for use in prescribing, monitoring and adjusting one or more training parameters of a BFR training session and/or program based on evaluation of the efficacy feedback data.
PRESSURE THERAPY METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TREATING SPASTICITY
A method and related systems for treating and/or preventing spasticity in a patient using negative pressure therapy. The negative pressure therapy may include intermittent application of negative pressure to a limb or portion of a body, such as alternating between periods of negative pressure and ambient pressure. The negative pressure therapy may be applied on a regular basis for a predetermined period, such that an effective amount of negative pressure for treating spasticity and other symptoms of neurogenerative diseases is administered. The negative pressure therapy may be applied to cause intermittent activation of the venous arterial reflex in the body for a sustained period, such that symptoms of neurogenerative diseases are alleviated or prevented.
WEARABLE HEALTH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A wearable health management system includes a flexible member configured to be worn on an affected area by a patient. At least one actuator is operably coupled to the flexible member. The at least one actuator is configured to be adjusted between a deployed state and a non-deployed state. At least one of a photoplethysmogram sensor and a bioimpedance sensor is coupled to the flexible member to obtain one or more health metrics from the patient. A controller is in communication with the at least one actuator. The controller is configured to adjust the at least one actuator to the deployed state to provide a selected pressure to the affected area.
COMPRESSION APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR CIRCULATORY-RELATED DISORDERS
A garment for providing circulatory-related disorder therapy includes a skin contacting layer, a backing layer, and a coupling. The backing layer is coupled to the skin contacting layer such that the skin contacting layer and the backing layer form a plurality of macro-chambers. A first one of the plurality of macro-chambers is partitioned into a plurality of micro-chambers. Each of the plurality of micro-chambers is in direct fluid communication with at least one other of the plurality of micro-chambers. The coupling is coupled to the backing layer and is configured to supply pressurized air directly into the first macro-chamber such that the pressurized air is delivered to a first one of the plurality of micro-chambers of the first macro-chamber.
ELECTRO-ACTUATABLE COMPRESSION GARMENTS WITH SHAPE MEMORY ELEMENTS
A compression garment having one or more flex frames that can be shortened or lengthened to apply or release a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of a user. The compression garment can have a wire made of shape memory material (shape memory alloy). A controller of the compression garment can supply an electrical input to the wire, generating heat that can cause the wire to contract such that the flex frame deflects to a shorter length to apply a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of the user. The one or more flex frames can be contracted in unison or in sequence to direct the flow of bodily fluids in the limb or other anatomical feature of the user.
Valve Actuation System Through Permanent Magnet Use
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a valve having an actuator configured to translate a mass in a plane and a valve element located out of the first plane and configured to translate along a first linear axis. In an illustrative example, at least one of the mass and the valve element may include a magnetic source providing a persistent magnetic field and the other may include a non-magnetized, magnetically permeable mass. Reluctance-induced forces may, for example, translate the valve element towards the mass along the first linear axis when the mass is brought into register with a second linear axis. The first linear axis and the second linear axis may, for example, be colinear. Various embodiments may advantageously provide a valve requiring low energy input for operation.
