Standoff temperature measurement for first responders
Embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for determining the temperature of an object or surface near a user, such as a firefighter, in potentially dangerous conditions. A temperature sensor configured to be attached to a personal protection equipment may comprise a standoff temperature sensor element configured to detect the temperature of a nearby object or surface; a microcontroller configured to receive sensor data from the standoff temperature sensor element and determine the sensed temperature; an indicator configured to be activated by the microcontroller when the sensed temperature is higher than a predefined threshold; and an attachment element configured to attach the sensor to a personal protection equipment worn by a user.
Safety garment with integrated earplugs
A safety garment with integrated earplugs designed to provide both hearing protection and high-visibility to the user in a single garment. The safety garment with integrated earplugs includes a garment, such as a vest or sweatshirt, designed to enclose a user's torso, with a neck aperture along a top end designed to receive a head and neck therethrough and a pair of arm apertures on opposing sides, wherein each arm aperture is designed to receive an arm therethrough. A reflective material is disposed along an exterior surface of the garment, such that the garment qualifies as a high-visibility safety garment. Additionally, a cord having a pair of opposing ends is affixed to the garment, wherein an earplug is affixed to each end of the cord. In this way, a user is able to wear a single garment that provides both high visibility to the user and has hearing protection attached.
APPAREL FOR CANNABIS INDUSTRY WORKERS
A for a worker in the cannabis industry. A shirt is provided having at least one magnet embedded therein, a pocket for holding at least one tool and accessory chosen from a set consisting of: identification badges, sunglasses, goggles, writing instruments, razor blades, and scissors. Trousers or pants are provided having at least one magnet embedded therein, a pocket for holding at least one tool and accessory chosen from the set consisting of: identification badges, sunglasses, goggles, writing instruments, razor blades, and scissors. Goggles or a mask is also provided for protecting the worker's eyes.
Illuminated indicator assembly having particular application to clothing
An illuminated clothing article (8) including an indicator assembly (10, 12) having at least one light source (22), circuitry (14, 16, 18, 22), and a sensor (14, 16). The circuitry (14, 16, 18, 22) is configured to modulate at least one property of the light (22) emitted by the at least one light source (22) in response an external variable sensed by the sensor (14, 16). PAIR OF TROUSERS COMPRISING A WAISTBAND SYSTEM
The invention relates to a pair of trousers (H) comprising a waistband system (1) having an encircling waistband (10) and a non-elastic closable belt (40), which, at least on a rear side (RS) of the pair of trousers (H), is integrated, in the form of a non-elastic waistband portion (11 a, 11 b), in the waistband (10), wherein the waistband (10) has at least one waistband portion (15), which is monoelastic at least in the longitudinal direction (HR) and can be bridged by, means of the belt (40), which runs parallel to it. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a pair of trousers (H) and to the use of the latter.
METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A GARMENT PORTION
A method for assembling a garment portion including accessing a first garment portion, a second garment portion and a fixture, wherein the first garment portion is generally tubular and has two plies. The method further includes positioning the first garment portion on the fixture such that the fixture is positioned in the first garment portion, and wrapping the second garment portion about the first garment portion. The method further includes unrolling or unfolding at least part of the first garment portion over the second garment portion such that the second garment portion is positioned between the two plies of the first garment portion.
Apparatus and method for powering a garment
A lawn mower or stand-on powered drivable machine has an electrical port that receives current from an alternator powered by the engine or motor. The port receives a plug from a garment worn by the lawn mower operator. The garment includes one or more thermo-electric elements that are powered from current extending through the port. The thermo-electric (TEC) elements may be resistive heaters to warm the operator or TEC coolers to cool the operator. Furthermore, the garment may include a rechargeable battery that powers the thermo-electric elements when the plug is disconnected from the port.
Wearable posture monitoring device and method thereof
A wearable posture monitoring device is provided. The device includes a first posture sensor to measure a first bend parameter associated with shoulders of a user and a second posture sensor to measure a second bend parameter associated with vertebral column of the user. The device includes a control unit operatively coupled to the first posture sensor and the second posture sensor and is configured to compare the first bend parameter with a first predefined reference value and the second bend parameter with a second predefined reference value to detect an improper bend in one or more of the shoulders and vertebral column of the user. The control unit is further configured to display a visual indication, on a display interface associated with the posture monitoring device, to indicate the detected improper bend of one or more of the shoulders and vertebral column of the user.
METHOD OF SUPPORTING THE NECK OF A USER
In one embodiment, a method of supporting the neck of a user when the user is laying on his or her back includes: obtaining a neck support device including first and second leg attachment portions, a head cradle, and a first coupling portion attaching the first leg attachment portion to the head cradle and a second coupling portion attaching the second leg attachment portion to the head cradle; attaching the first leg attachment portion to the first leg or foot of the user; attaching the second leg attachment portion to the second leg or foot of the user; and arranging the head cradle on a back portion of a user's head such that the user's head is held in tension.
Glove with optimized safety markings
