SAUNA APPARATUS
This invention relates to a sauna with reduced dimensions such that the size, assembly time, material costs, and operating costs (e.g., power, heat, etc.) are reduced while still offering the end-user an enjoyable sauna experience. More particularly, various embodiments of the present invention relate to a sauna having a bottom surface, a top surface parallel to the bottom surface, and a front surface connecting the bottom surface to the top surface, wherein the front surface and bottom surface typically form an angle less than about 90°.
THERAPEUTIC VIBRATING ROLLER
A portable vibrating roller includes an outer roller structure having a plurality of grooves and ribs. A hollow cylindrical bore extends longitudinally through the shell. A vibration system having a first end cap and a second end cap fits within the bore. A battery positioned within the shell near one end cap provides electrical power to a motor positioned within the shell near the other end cap to cause the motor to rotate an output shaft at a plurality of angular velocities to rotate an eccentric mass located approximately midway between the two end caps. The rotating eccentric mass causes vibration. A motor control circuit receives input power from a battery and selectively provides output power to the motor in response to the operation of a switch on the first end cap. The output power is varied to control the angular velocity of the output shaft of the motor and to thereby control a frequency of vibration caused by the eccentric mass.
INSTRUMENTED WOUND CLOSURE DEVICE
A wound or incision closure apparatus comprises a first and second panel. Each of the panels comprises a bottom adhesive layer, a medial substrate layer, and an upper load distribution layer which connect the two panels. A sensory or therapeutic element is disposed adjacent, within, or between two or more of the layers. The sensory or therapeutic element can provide sensing and/or therapy for the incision and/or monitor the incision so that the therapy can be customized and updated.

Wireless pressure control of a fluidic bladder with head pressure compensation
A pressure controller for a fluidic bladder has in sequence a pump, a first fluid line, a supply pressure sensor, a second fluid line, a bladder having an inlet coupled to the second fluid line, a bladder outlet coupled to a third fluid line of substantially equal length to the second fluid line, a return pressure sensor, and a fourth fluid line coupled to the return pressure sensor and returning fluid from the pump to the reservoir. A pressure estimate is formed by averaging the supply pressure and return pressure. The pressure controller receives a setpoint pressure as a command and data over a wireless channel, and computes a head pressure offset by turning the pump off and measuring the supply and return pressures.
Patient support apparatus having an integrated limb compression device
A patient support apparatus includes a frame having a patient support deck. A footboard is removably coupled to the frame. A compression therapy module is located inside the footboard or is mounted to a foot section of the frame. A sleeve port is pneumatically coupled to the compression therapy module and is located on the foot section. The sleeve port is configured for attachment to at least one tube extending from a compression sleeve worn on a limb of a patient. Control circuitry is coupled to the frame and is operable to control functions of the patient support apparatus and to control the compression therapy module. A graphical display screen is coupled to the control circuitry and displays user inputs that are selected to control functions of the patient support apparatus and the compression therapy module.
Sensorimotor discs for infants and babies
In one example, we describe a method and system for infant's development, which is a disc system, with various combinations and extensions. The brain is the only organ that constantly reorganizes itself based on experiences or lack thereof. Babies are born with millions of neurons. Through a process called pruning, certain circuits are fine-tuned through repeated practice and stimulation. This occurs from birth, throughout early childhood. The purpose of the SensiMo Disc is to provide an infant, e.g., typically, up to the 25 lbs. and/or 29 inches long, sensorimotor stimulation, while lying in a prone or supine position, with minimal active movement of the head or extremities. As the child lays supine or proneon, on the SensiMo disc, the child's tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems are stimulated. This helps develop the child's sensorimotor system. Many other variations and combinations, plus advantages, are discussed.
EQUIPMENT TO ELICIT FRISSONS OR AESTHETIC CHILLS, THROUGH THE MULTISENSORIAL AND MULTIMODAL STIMULATION; WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF RELIEVING CHRONIC PAINS AND THE METHOD TO USE IT
Equipment for self-care of patients with chronic pain, through inducing, intensifying and maintaining their own frissons and where multisensory and multimodal stimuli are used to achieve it; musical, visual, aromatic and vibrotactile and cold are applied on the cutaneous surface of the spine. In addition, the method for using them through perceptual learning is presented. The equipment consists of a computer and a computer system with a music and video player, lighting, presentation of aromas and a closed hydraulic circuit with a hydraulic actuator.
Electronically regulated temperature compression brace
The electronically regulated temperature compression device is a brace that applies pressure to an appendage. The electronically regulated temperature compression device applies heat therapy and cooling therapy to the appendage. The temperature of the selected therapy is electronically regulated and controlled. The electronically regulated temperature compression device uses a refrigerant-based heat exchange mechanism during the therapy process. The electronically regulated temperature compression device comprises a composite textile, plurality of fasteners, and a controller. The plurality of fasteners attaches the composite textile to the appendage of the patient. The plurality of fasteners controls the pressure applied by the composite textile to the appendage. The composite textile is a temperature controlled textile used to generate a heat exchange between the electronically regulated temperature compression device and the appendage. The controller manages the temperature and flow of the refrigerant during the therapy process.
WEARABLE LIMB WRAPS FOR TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED THERAPY
A compression wrap and method for temperature-controlled application of pressure on an arm of a subject, comprising a fluid bladder comprising a first element comprising two or more first flaps; a second element comprising one or more digital flaps; and a third element comprising two or more second flaps, wherein the first element and the third element are connected along a first edge and the second element is connected to the first element and the third element along a second edge.
