An apparatus for fastening an end of a strap is provided. The apparatus comprises a workpiece, a first slit at a proximity of an edge of a first rectangle of the workpiece, a second slit at a proximity of an edge of a second rectangle of the workpiece opposite to first rectangle, a first fastening member affixed to a third rectangle of the workpiece perpendicular to the first and second rectangles, and a second fastening member affixed to a fourth rectangle of the workpiece opposite of the third rectangle. The fourth rectangle adapted to fold over so that the first fastening member and the second fastening member may engage to lock the strap. The strap may be inserted through the first slit and the second slit and its end held in position when the fastening members are engaged. In an embodiment, the strap is of a phylactery.

A garment includes a torso portion having a neck opening and is configured to be supported by shoulders of a wearer. A hood is coupled to a back of the torso portion about the neck opening and is configured to fit on a head of the wearer in a hood up position. A first fastener is supported by a back of the hood and is spaced a first distance from the neck opening. A second fastener is supported by a back of the torso portion and is spaced a second distance from the neck opening to releasably secure the hood via engagement with the first fastener in a hood down position.

The collared shirt has a placket with a top piece and bottom piece extending at least a portion of the length of the shirt. The bottom piece comprises an attached collar male button, an attached first male button spaced apart from the collar male button and below the collar male button, and an attached second male button spaced apart from the first male button and below the first male button, and an intermediate male magnetic button between the first and second male buttons. The top piece comprises female buttons corresponding to the male buttons on the bottom piece. The top piece further comprises an intermediate female magnetic button corresponding to the intermediate male magnetic button and affixed to an inner side of the top piece.

A hood assembly includes a hood with a first hood semi-portion and a second hood semi-portion, the hood sized to be selectively worn over a head of a user. The hood assembly further includes a first adjustment assembly in the first hood semi-portion, the first adjustment assembly having a first channel encasing a first magnet therein, the first magnet being slidable through the first channel. The hood assembly further includes a second adjustment assembly in the second hood semi-portion, the second adjustment assembly having a second channel encasing a second magnet therein, the second magnet being slidable through the second channel. The first and second magnets can be selectively secured together to thereby bring together the first hood semi-portion with the second hood semi-portion.

A magnetic anchoring device for securing an object onto a ferromagnetic object or support structure. The magnetic anchoring device includes a flexible member having a first end, an opposite second end, a front surface, and an opposite rear surface, the first end, the second end, the front surface, and the rear surface defining an open interior, a first magnet positioned within the open interior of the flexible member and proximate the first end, and a second magnet positioned within the open interior of the flexible member and proximate the second end. In some embodiments, the magnetic anchoring device includes a third magnet positioned within the open interior of the flexible member between the first magnet and the second magnet. In some embodiments, the second magnet is an elongated member and the first magnet is slidably adjustable along the second magnet.

The present disclosure relates to fasteners for a variety of items including but not limited to luggage, clothing, handbags, etc. The fasteners have magnetic properties to ensure a solid yet removable connection between the fasteners. In at least one embodiment, a magnetic member is wrapped, at least partially, in a length of material thereby shielding the magnetic member from damage as well as assisting in coupling with another magnetic member.

A magnetic system for fastening of an apparel belt utilizes magnets concealed within the belt to secure the belt in the desired waist size, with said system eliminating the need for a functional buckle for fastening of the belt. The system disclosed herein further provides for novel application a non-slip coating to opposite contact ends of the belt to facilitate a secure fit of the belt and prevent loosening or unfastening of the belt once secured in the desired waist size by the wearer.

A closure device for connecting two parts includes a first closure part which includes a first surface with an arrangement of first structure elements arranged thereon and a second closure part which includes a second surface with an arrangement of second structure elements arranged thereon. The first closure part and the second closure part are to be positioned together in such a manner that the first surface of the first closure part faces the second surface of the second closure part such that the first structure elements and the second structure elements engage in one another in such a manner that movement of the closure parts relative to one another along a load direction is blocked.

A detachable hood for a jacket can include a top dome portion, a back portion connected to the top dome portion, and a first side portion connected to the top dome portion and the back portion. In addition, the detachable hood can include a second side portion opposing the first side portion, the second side portion connected to the top dome portion and the back portion. Further, the detachable hood can include a collar extending from each of the first side portion and the second side portion, where the collar includes a magnetic connector.

One non-limiting embodiment of the present invention includes an athletic garment including a garment configured to snugly fit a torso wherein the garment has a front portion and a rear portion. The athletic garment further includes a pocket secured to the rear portion of the garment providing a pocket for containing items therein. The pocket includes a secured portion and a hanging portion wherein the secured portion is secured to the garment and the hanging portion is not secured to the garment.
