Length measuring device

A length measuring device includes a carrier with a scale which extends longitudinally in a measuring direction. A scanning carriage for scanning a measuring graduation of the scale is longitudinally guided in the measuring direction, and, via a coupling, is rigidly coupled to a driver in the measuring direction and transversely thereto coupled to it in a flexible manner. The coupling includes a coupling element arranged between a first coupling point on the scanning carriage and a second coupling point on the driver. At the second coupling point, the coupling element is attached via a solid-body joint that is designed to carry the coupling element so as to be freely rotatable in relation to the driver about an axis of rotation which runs perpendicularly to a plane of the measuring graduation. The coupling element has a lower density than steel and/or a higher modulus of elasticity than steel.

The magnet is used for sensing a rotational angle of the rotor. The rotor core includes only one pair of core-side positioning portions which are arranged to be point-symmetric about a rotational axis. The magnet includes only one pair of magnet-side positioning portions which are arranged to be point-symmetric about the rotational axis. The magnet-side positioning portions are engaged with the core-side positioning portions, respectively, to position the magnet relative to the rotor core in a first direction, a second direction and a circumferential direction, and the magnet-side positioning portions are used as both a magnetization reference and an assembly reference.

An integration kit is disclosed herein that allows for mounting of a resolver trigger wheel relative to a bearing assembly, resolver, and rotor. The integration kit simplifies assembly and saves space. The integration kit includes a resolver integration sleeve that includes a first axial section including a radially inner surface defining a bearing support and radially inwardly extending flange defining an axial abutment surface. The resolver integration sleeve also includes a second axial section including at least one anti-rotation slot dimensioned to receive a portion of a trigger wheel, at least one anti-rotation tab extending axially towards the first axial section and dimensioned to be received by a rotor, at least one securing tab extending radially outward and configured to engage a trigger wheel, and a radially outwardly extending flange.

A magnetic angular position sensor system is described herein. According to one exemplary embodiment the angular position sensor system comprises a shaft rotatable around a rotation axis, wherein the shaft has a soft magnetic shaft end portion. The system further comprises a sensor chip spaced apart from the shaft end portion in an axial direction and defining a sensor plane, which is substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis. At least four magnetic field sensor elements are integrated in the sensor chip, wherein two of the magnetic field sensor elements are spaced apart from each other and are only sensitive to magnetic field components in a first direction and wherein two of the magnetic field sensor elements are spaced apart from each other and are only sensitive to magnetic field components in a second direction, whereby the first and the second direction are mutually non-parallel and the first and the second direction being perpendicular to the rotation axis. Moreover, the system comprises a magnetic field source that magnetizes the shaft end portion, wherein the shaft end portion is formed such that a magnetic field in the sensor plane, which is caused by the magnetic field source, is rotationally symmetric with order N, wherein N is a finite integer number ≧1. The system also comprises circuitry that is coupled to the at least four magnetic field sensor elements and configured to calculate an angular position of the shaft by combining output signals of the at least four magnetic field sensor elements.
