NECK PILLOW
A neck pillow includes: a cushion portion worn on a user's neck and an electro-liquid driving unit mounted into the cushion portion, being bent in a shape of an arc, and including ferroelectric particles, each having an electrorheological property, and nonconductive liquid. The electro-liquid driving unit generates vibration by contraction and expansion that are repeated when an arrangement of the ferroelectric particles and the nonconductive liquid is changed according to whether drive current is applied. A low voltage power supply unit supplies low voltage electricity necessary to drive the electro-liquid driving unit and a high voltage control circuit unit converts low voltage direct current into high voltage direct current and supplies the drive current to the electro-liquid driving unit and adjusting micro-current to generate target vibration in the electro-liquid driving unit.
DYNAMIC REACTIVE SYSTEM AND METHOD TO SUPPORT AND CHANGE SITTING POSTURES
There is provided a dynamic and proactive system for supporting sitting while detecting and changing sitting postures of a user and method of operation thereof. The system including a frame, a plurality of supports, each configured to support a different body part, and a plurality of joints each configured to move independently of or together with any other of the joints, each of the supports is connected to the frame via a corresponding joint, at least one of the joints is a two dimensional joint which enables a change in angle between the frame and a corresponding support. Each one of the plurality of supports is configured to move with respect to the frame or to another support, thereby enabling any changes in sitting postures of the user. The system comprises sensors, which based on their readings, the system detects user postures and suggests or creates posture changes.
VISION-ASSIST DEVICES AND METHODS OF CALIBRATING IMAGE DATA OF A VISION-ASSIST DEVICE
Vision-assist devices and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a vision-assist device includes an image sensor for generating image data corresponding to a scene, a processor, and an inertia measuring unit. The inertia measuring unit is configured to measure forces acting on the image sensor and the orientation of the image sensor. The processor is configured to receive the image data from the image sensor and process the force and orientation of the image sensor so as to determine a tilt of the image sensor. The processor is further configured to process the image data based on at least the tilt of the at least one image sensor so as to generate a corrected image data, wherein the corrected image data does not include the tilt.
Adjustable strap apparatus and method for use
Embodiments of the present invention provide an adjustable strap apparatus and methods of instructing a patient to perform an exercise using the adjustable strap apparatus. An apparatus according to embodiments of the present invention includes a strap, a plurality of hook patches and a plurality of loop patches joined thereto. A hook patch and a loop patch of the present invention are removably engageable to form pull loops from ends of the apparatus and to form a pull belt between the pull loops. A therapist may instruct a patient to perform a mobilization exercise or a stretching exercise by forming pull loops about extremities of the patient and pulling on the apparatus without grasping to exert a stabilization force or resistance force upon a part of the body of the patient.
Chiropractic adjustment and soft tissue mobilization tool
Presented is a chiropractic adjustment and soft tissue mobilization tool. The tool includes a flat bottom section, and a spine adjustment section. The spine adjustment section includes two raised supports aligned substantially parallel, and a spine accommodating area formed along and between the length of the two raised supports for supporting an intended vertebrae portion of a patient's spine during chiropractic adjustment. The spine adjustment section further transitions to form a protruding edge adapted for performing soft tissue mobilization. The protruding edge further protrudes upwardly and rolls off to form a planar raised surface parallel to the flat bottom. Each side of the spine adjustment section features a recessed area formed thereof to allow a provider to hold the tool with the provider's fingertips and to aid in collection and re-dispersal of lotion applied during soft tissue mobilization procedure.
Unit for Action on Biologically Active Body Points and the Relief of Paravertebral Muscles
A unit has been designed to be applied within the area of physiotherapy and is applicable to both medical and athletic therapeutic programs to provide correction of functional states of the spine and the nervous system to eliminate nervous overloads, fatigue, and stress. Moreover, the unit corrects spinal disorders, paravertebral muscular disorders and can be used as a part of mobilizing procedures to act on biologically active body points, and as a part of therapeutic procedures to relieve the spine.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HEAD UP CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.
BATH MASSAGE CHAIR AND PILLOW
A bath massage chair includes a pillow, a back support configured to support a torso of the user when the user is seated in the bath massage chair, and a seat coupled to the lower portion of the back support. The pillow includes a pillow massage system and a pillow heating element configured to heat the pillow. The back support includes an upper portion coupled to the pillow and a lower portion opposite the upper portion, a back massage system configured to massage the torso of the user, and a back heating element configured to heat the back support. The seat is configured to support a lower body of the user when the user is seated in the bath massage chair. The pillow massage system, pillow heating element, back massage system, and back heating element are operably coupled to a controller.
