This disclosure relates to improved massage chairs that include air cell apparatuses. A massage chair can include at least one air cell apparatus, which can be integrated into a shoulder portion, leg rest portion, arm portion, and/or other portion of the massage chair. An inflatable air bladder can be connected to each air cell apparatus. Each air cell apparatus can transition between a retracted position and an extended position. The air cell bladder can be configured to inflate when the air cell apparatus is in the extended position, thereby securing an individual to the massage chair. Various assemblies can be used to transition the air cell apparatus between the retracted and extended positions. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Lumbar decompression device

A lumbar decompression device may include one or more bases that support one or more uprights with a plurality of upper support members and a plurality of lower support members. The upper support members are configured to engage with a user's upper body and support a user's body weight. The one or more uprights are positioned laterally from the upper support members such that the user may perform a variety of movements of their lower body without contacting the one or more uprights.

APPARATUS CAPABLE OF ACTUATING A DISTAL JOINT AND TRANSFERRING THE CONSTRAINING REACTIONS IN AN UNDERACTUATED SHOULDER EXOSKELETON

An underactuated mechanism has a first rotoidal joint connected to a human torso and rotating about a first joint rotation axis, a hyper-redundant connection mechanism connected to the first rotoidal joint, and a second rotoidal joint rotating about a second joint rotation axis, coplanar with the first joint rotation axis. The second rotoidal joint is remotely actuated by a driven pulley and Bowden cables or by a direct drive actuation system with co-located motor, and is fixed to the hyper-redundant connection mechanism on one side and to a human arm on the other side. The hyper-redundant connection mechanism has at least three members. Two members of the at least three members are rigidly fixed to one of the rotoidal joints, respectively. All members are connected together by rotation joints with axes parallel to one another and arranged to connect one member to a successive member to form a rotation constraint.

Multiple actuator vibration therapy

A method includes disposing a plurality of actuators about a subject, each actuator being configured to generate a respective vibration signal, each vibration signal applying a normal force to the subject, and controlling the plurality of actuators such that the respective vibration signal of each actuator of the plurality has a respective vibration characteristic. Each actuator is oriented such that the respective vibration signal propagates along a longitudinal axis of the subject for stimulation of the subject remote from the plurality of actuators.

Wearable apparatus for assisting muscular strength

A wearable apparatus for assisting muscular strength includes a back support, and a connection chain having a first end portion coupled to the back support to be rotatable upward or downward. The connection chain extends from the back of the wearer to a side thereof and includes a plurality of rotary elements arranged abreast laterally, each rotary element being rotatably coupled to an adjacent rotary element laterally. The wearable apparatus further includes an upper arm module that extends in a direction in which an upper arm of the wearer extends, one end portion of the upper arm module coupled to a second end portion of the connection chain to be rotatable upward or downward with respect to the one end portion. The upper arm module generates a rotational force for rotating the upper arm of the wearer upward or downward.

Method of correcting the predicted acupuncture point position and a massage chair to do this
11571355 · 2023-02-07 · ·

A method for correcting a massage position and a massage chair for performing the same includes allowing a shoulder height measurement module to measure a shoulder height of a user, allowing a hip bone position prediction module to predict a hip bone position through a preset prediction method by using the shoulder height measured by the shoulder height measurement module, allowing a massage position determination module to determine a plurality of determination massage positions and a plurality of correction massage positions spaced from the determination massage positions by a predetermined distance on the basis of the hip bone position predicted by the hip bone position prediction module, and allowing a massage ball assembly control module to control a massage ball assembly so as to massage the determination massage positions and the correction massage positions determined by the massage position determination module.
