MODULAR OFF-PLATTER DETECTION ASSEMBLY FOR USE WITH BARCODE READERS
A modular off-platter detection assembly for use with a barcode reader includes a housing, a first light source, a first light sensor, and a controller operatively coupled to the first light source and the first light sensor. The housing is configured to be removably mounted to the barcode reader, a frame supporting the barcode reader, or the workstation. The first light source is positioned within the housing and emits a first light along a first lateral edge of a weigh platter. The first light sensor is positioned within the housing, has a first field-of-view along the first lateral edge, and is configured to detect at least a portion of the first light reflected towards the housing. The controller is configured to provide a first alert in response to receipt of a first value from the first light sensor indicating there is an object extending across the first lateral edge.
Systems and methods for at-home monitoring of an individual
In one embodiment, an at-home monitoring system includes a sensor unit configured to be placed under a leg of a piece of furniture, the sensor unit comprising a load cell configured to measure a force imposed by the leg, a central controller configured to receive force data from the load cell, to determine the times when an individual gets on and off of the piece of furniture, and to determine a weight of the individual, and a wireless communications component configured to wirelessly transmit information determined by the central controller to a separate computing device.
Vehicle collection bins and scale systems
This disclosure describes a collection bin for a waste collection vehicle. The collection bin includes a weighing system with a processor for measuring the weight of material collected from each waste container and associating this weight with appropriate data, such as the owner of the waste container.
Methods, apparatus, and systems for generating a content-related notification using a container interface display apparatus
Methods, apparatus, and systems are described for generating a content related notification based upon managed logistics information related to a container using a container interface display apparatus. Such a container interface display apparatus records an update to the managed logistics information maintained in a memory of the container interface display apparatus and then accesses at least a portion of the managed logistics information maintained in the memory after recording the update. The container interface display apparatus then detects a notification event based upon the accessed portion of the managed logistics information. Such notification event is related to status information associated with the container or an item stored within the container. The container interface display apparatus then generates the content related notification related the notification event and dynamically displays information related to the content related notification on a display screen of the container interface display apparatus.
Spatially diverse snowpack sensing system
Multiple spatially diverse and compact weight sensors are statistically combined to reduce or eliminate errors caused by snow bridging. Data transmission using satellite communication minimizes the power consumption of the sensor station further allowing the entire system to be relatively compact and easily transported. The weight sensors may be combined with other standard sensors for measurement of air temperature and snow height, the latter measurement, for example, using ultrasound ranging or the like.
Remote physiologic parameter determination methods and platform apparatuses
Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to an apparatus including a scale and external circuitry. The scale includes a platform for a user to stand on, and data-procurement circuitry for collecting signals indicative of the user's identity and cardio-physiological measurements while the user is standing on the platform. The scale includes processing circuitry to process data obtained by the data-procurement circuitry and therefrom generate cardio-related physiologic data, and an output circuit to send user data from the scale for reception at a remote location. The external circuitry receives and validates the user data as concerning a specific user associated with a user ID and determine at least one physiologic parameter of the user using the user data. Further, the external circuitry derives additional health information corresponding to the user data based on categories of interest and outputs the additional health information to the scale for display.
Washer/dryer appliance comprising weight sensing technology
The present invention discloses an washing/dryer appliance. The present invention further comprises a load capacity sensing apparatus coupled within an predetermine region of the cabinet which may sensing the load capacity of the inner drum. And an plurality of electric motors that may raise and lower the outer drum during one operational task of the appliance.
Automated load and unload detection system for bulk material hauler vehicles
A system for automatically detecting an operational event for a bulk material hauler vehicle. The system includes a sensor mounted on the bulk material hauler vehicle, which is adapted for hauling a bulk material such as an aggregate. The system further includes a telematics system provided on the bulk material hauler vehicle. The telematics system includes a processor running software (or executing instructions or code) for detecting the operational event (e.g., providing functions of a load and unload detection module or discriminator as described herein). During vehicle operations, the sensor transmits sensor data to the telematics system, and the detecting of the operational event includes retrieving a signature definition for the operational event and then verifying the sensor data meets requirements of the signature definition. In some embodiments of the system, the operational event is loading the bulk material on or unloading the bulk material from the vehicle.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VERIFIED BIOMEASUREMENTS
A method includes generating, via a camera, image data that is reproducible as an image of at least a portion of a subject. The method also includes receiving, via a sensor, first biomeasurement data associated with the subject, the first biomeasurement data including a first biomeasurement of the subject. The method also includes verifying the first biomeasurement of the subject based at least in part on a comparison between at least a portion of the image data and at least a portion of the first biomeasurement data.
PHYSICAL PARAMETER REMOTE SENSING SYSTEM
A sensing apparatus for measuring at least one parameter includes at least one sensor for detecting at least one parameter and outputting a signal representative of the parameter. The sensing apparatus includes a memory for storing data and computer instructions and a communication component configured to transmit data representative of a value associated with the at least one parameter. A processor of the sensing apparatus communicates with the at least one sensor, the memory and the communication component. The processor receives output signals from said at least one sensor, and calculates at least one parameter based on computer instructions stored in the memory.
