BACKBONE RETRACTION APPARATUS
Disclosed is a backbone retraction apparatus which includes a support member supporting a hip of a user, a center member coupled to the support member by a hinge structure, a backrest member inserted into the center member, a neck support member inserted into the backrest member, moving means comprising a wire having a first side fixed to the center member and a second side fixed to the neck support member and a first latching protrusion protruded from the backrest member and adapted to have the wire hung on the first latching protrusion, the second side of the wire being fixed under the first latching protrusion, and length adjustment means adapted to be connected to the support member and the backrest member.
SOMATOSENSORY FEEDBACK WEARABLE OBJECT
Disclosed are systems, computer-readable mediums, and methods for receiving, from a sensor array, three-dimensional sensory data associated with an environment of a person. The three-dimensional sensory data is converted into a two-dimensional representation. An obstacle is located within the environment based upon the sensory data. The obstacle is mapped onto the two-dimensional representation and the two-dimensional representation is mapped onto a plurality of actuators within a vibrotactile interface. One or more of a plurality of actuators are controlled based upon the mapping of the two-dimensional representation onto the plurality of actuators to provide tactile input to the person that represents a location of the obstacle.
Self-Actuated Device for Lumbar Traction and Flexure
This invention is an apparatus and an associated method with which a person may self-apply concurrent spinal traction and lateral spinal flexure. The apparatus comprises a mobile carriage with ankle grips, long handles and flexible links to a floor pad that is held in place by the weight of the user's upper torso. The user applies arm pressure to the handles so as to urge the carriage and the user's ankles away from the user's torso. This force on the user's ankles applies a stretching force (traction) to the user's lower spine. Alternating a slightly greater force on the handles causes the carriage, constrained by links to the floor pad, to swing to and fro in a lateral arc. The concurrent application of user-induced traction and lateral spinal flexure is but one advantage of the apparatus and is a novel combination in the field of exercise and therapeutic devices.
FREQUENCY DETECTOR FOR RECIPROCATING MOVING BODY, AND SWINGING JOINT DEVICE
A frequency detector includes an oscillation related information output portion to which moving body position related information and a correction parameter are input, and which outputs a frequency adjustment parameter and estimated moving body position related information; a frequency estimating portion to which the frequency adjustment parameter is input, and which outputs an estimated frequency; and an adjusting portion to which the moving body position related information, the estimated moving body position related information, and the estimated frequency are input, and which outputs the correction parameter.
Adjustable bed position control
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.
Massage device and chair-type massage apparatus equipped with the massage device
A massage device for performing a kneading massage including paired left and right massage members, each having a treatment element, and a massage mechanism for operating at least one of the paired massage members to cause the treatment elements to move close to and away from each other in the horizontal direction to produce kneading actions. The massage member has an arm member extending substantially perpendicularly to the approaching/separating direction, and the treatment element is disposed at the front end of the arm member so that an extended line L extending along the protruding direction of the arm member passes through the interior of the treatment element.
Powered chairs for public venues, assemblies for use in powered chairs, and components for use in assemblies for use in powered chairs
Powered chairs, assemblies for use in the powered chairs, and components for use in the assemblies are provided. Electrical systems for use in the powered chairs, and components for use in the electrical systems are provided. Control systems and methods for operating powered chairs are also provided. Any given chair may be locally and/or remotely controlled.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE SYSTEM
A therapeutic massage system is provided. The system is characterized by a controllable compressed air delivery system and a cushion adapted for operative union with a portion of the air delivery system. The cushion includes a support pad and a therapy pad, the support pad having head and vertebral column supporting portions. The support pad vertebral column supporting portion is characterized by longitudinally extending compartments containing filler material. A central compartment of compartments of the support vertebral column supporting portion having a primary region traversing an axial centerline of said cushion and secondary regions spaced apart from said primary central region. The therapy pad overlays and is affixed to the vertebral column supporting portion of the support pad, the therapy pad including a plurality of fluid fillable channels for receiving a vertebral column wherein select fluid fillable channels of the plurality of fluid fillable channels of the therapy pad are fillable via programmed actuation of an actuatable element of the air delivery system. Filler material of the compartments of the support vertebral column supporting portion are responsive to receipt of body weight upon the cushion and select filling of the plurality of fluid fillable channels of the therapy pad, filler material of the regions of the central compartment being passable throughout segments of same in response to receipt of body weight upon the cushion and select filling of the plurality of fluid fillable channels of the therapy pad.
BACK MASSAGING DEVICE AND ITS CONTROLLING METHOD OF MASSAGE ROUTE
A back massaging device includes a seat back, a linear rack gear, a frame body, a main gear, a massage member, two motor assemblies and a control unit. The linear rack gear and the frame body are on the seat back. The main gear is pivoted at the frame body through a gear shaft. One of the motor assemblies is meshed with the main gear for rotating a massage protrusion of the massage member by an angle. Another motor assembly is meshed with the linear rack gear for driving the massage protrusion to vertically move. The control unit is electrically connected to the motor assemblies for calculating rotation angle values and vertical movements of the massage protrusion, and controlling the motor assemblies to operate synchronously to outline a trajectory pattern corresponding to one of trajectory scripts by the massage protrusion.
