Method for detecting leakage of a hollow component and installation for implementing such a method
The invention relates to a method for detecting leakage of a hollow component, comprising the steps of sealing said hollow component (1, 31), creating a pressure difference P1 and P2 between said hollow component interior and an adjacent compartment/enclosure (2, 32), putting a tracer gas in one of the hollow component or said compartment/enclosure, waiting for an enriching time T and then carrying out a step of transferring, via a non-selective or selective restriction (6, 7; 49), the content of said hollow component or said compartment/enclosure (2; 32) into which tracer gas has not been put, in order to concentrate, in a volume downstream of said restriction (6, 7; 49), the tracer gas that said content may possibly contain, and then in looking for the presence of tracer gas in said volume. The invention also relates to an installation for implementing the method.

The sniffer probe includes a sniffer end piece that is configured to be connected to a pumping device of the leak detector, and a handle bearing the sniffer end piece, a capacitive proximity sensor including at least one handling detection electrode that is arranged in a grip portion of the handle, the capacitive proximity sensor being configured to send a handling detection signal that is associated with the at least one handling detection electrode to a processing unit of the leak detector in order to control the suction into the sniffer end piece according to the handling detection signal. A leak detector and a leak detection method for checking the leak-tightness of an object to be tested by means of a tracer gas are also provided.
System and Method for Leak Detection
A system for detecting gas leaks in a gas-containing component includes: a test gas comprising molecular hydrogen introduced on one side of a gas-containing component; a vacuum pump to collect a gas sample from the other side of the gas-containing component; a hydrogen detector to receive the gas sample and determine the hydrogen content therein; and, a trap containing a regenerable sorbent material upstream from the hydrogen detector, the sorbent material characterized by having less affinity for molecular hydrogen than for heavier hydrogen-containing molecular species. Regeneration of the sorbent may be accomplished by exposure to purge gas, or by exposure to a lower total pressure than existed during the test cycle.
SNIFFER PROBE HAVING A BYPASS OPENING, FOR A GAS LEAK DETECTOR
A sniffer probe for a gas leak detector, which gas leak detector has a vacuum pump for drawing in gas through the sniffer probe in accordance with the sniffing principle and a gas detector for analyzing the gas flow drawn in, the sniffer probe comprising: a gas inlet for the gas flow drawn in, a gas outlet, which can be connected to the gas leak detector, and a channel, which gas-conductingly connects the gas inlet to the gas outlet, is characterized in that the sniffer probe has a bypass opening, which gas-conductingly connects a portion of the channel located between the gas inlet and the gas outlet to the outer environment of the sniffer probe, the bypass opening having an actuatable closure for selectively opening and closing the bypass opening.
Gas leak detector cartridge
A gas leak detector cartridge includes a cartridge housing that is removably installed in a handheld device. The cartridge housing includes a sensor that detects a presence of a contaminant in a sample gas and is connected to a printed circuit board. The cartridge housing also includes a pump positioned in a manifold and introduces a sample gas to the sensor. The sensor is at least partially inserted into the manifold that includes the pump.
SNIFFER PROBE AND LEAK DETECTOR
A sniffer probe for a leak detector for monitoring the leaktightness of an object to be tested by tracer gas includes an end piece created in the form of a rigid tube, a housing, a connection member connecting the end piece to the housing, and a sampling duct to sample a gas at a first end of the end piece. The connection member includes a main body that is elastically deformable such that it can adopt a deformed position, making it possible for the end piece to pivot when acted upon by a force and to return to the initial rest position.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOGNIZING THE PRESENCE OF LEAKAGES FROM SEALED CONTAINERS
A method for recognizing the presence of leakages from sealed containers includes defining a detection zone in which a sealed container will be placed, putting the detection zone in communication with at least one gas sensor through at least one duct, introducing a flushing gas into the detection zone through the duct, placing a container in the detection zone; and sucking a gas flow from the detection zone through the duct and transferring it to a first sensor. The gas flow that reaches the first sensor is either transferred to a second sensor or to the first sensor for a second time. The signals generated by the two sensors, or the two signals generated by the same sensor, are processed for determining the presence of a gas leakage in the container.
