SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FUEL LEAK DETECTION
In one aspect, systems for detecting a fuel leak are described herein. In some implementations, a system for detecting a fuel leak described herein comprises a fuel-containing vessel having an exterior surface and a carbon nanotube coating layer comprising photoluminescent carbon nanotubes disposed on at least a portion of the exterior surface of the fuel-containing vessel. The system further comprises a fuel-sensitive coating layer substantially covering the carbon nanotube coating layer. The fuel-sensitive coating layer is optically opaque or substantially opaque to wavelengths of light absorbed and/or emitted by the photoluminescent carbon nanotubes.
Underwater drain leakage detection apparatus
An underwater drain leakage detection apparatus for a swimming pool is provided including an elongated pole and a housing connected to one end of the pole. A flexible leak detection tube is connected to the housing at a first end thereof and is in liquid communication with the inside of the housing. The housing is positioned over a suspected leak area below the surface of the water in the pool by suitable manipulation of the elongated pole by the pool leak specialist. A suitable dye substance then is inserted into the distal top or free end of the leak detection tube while the latter is positioned just below the surface of the swimming pool water by the leak specialist. The dye is observed from above the surface of the swimming pool water to determine whether there is a leak. If there is a leak in the area of the pool covered by the housing, the dye easily will be observed to move downward along the tube.
TESTING FOR AN AIR LEAK IN A CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE CONTAINER
Provided is a controlled atmosphere container controller for a controlled atmosphere container. The controlled atmosphere container comprises a cargo space for storing cargo, and the controller is configured to perform a test for an air leak in the controlled atmosphere container. The test comprises the controlled atmosphere container controller causing a first characteristic of an atmosphere in the cargo space to have a first value, stopping causing the first characteristic to have the first value, receiving, in a time period following the stopping, a signal from a sensor configured to sense a second characteristic of the atmosphere in the cargo space, the signal representative of a value of the second characteristic of the atmosphere in the cargo space during the time period, and performing an action to permit determination of an air leak in the controlled atmosphere container, on the basis of the signal.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING LEAKS IN GENERATORS
A system for detecting a gas leak in a machine includes a source of a non-corrosive tracer gas, and a subsystem for introducing the non-corrosive tracer gas into the machine. An infrared imaging device is adapted to communicate with a notification device to display an image of at least a portion of the machine. The infrared imaging device has a cooled detector and a filter with a spectral response between about 3 m and about 5 m. At least one of the detector and the filter is cooled. The infrared imaging device includes one of a mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) photodetector, an indium antimonide (InSb) photodetector or a mid-wavelength quantum well infrared photodetector (QWIP). The notification device is adapted to indicate the gas leak.
Apparatus for Verifying the Integrity of the Confinement Boundary of a Spent Nuclear Fuel Dry Storage Canister in Operation
An apparatus is provided to verify the integrity of the confinement boundary of a spent nuclear fuel dry storage canister in operation. An external-convection blocking device is used to temporarily isolate the dry storage system or the dry storage canister from the ambient environment to form an isolated space. A gas sampling-and-analyzing device is connected to the isolated space to measure the leak rate or concentration of helium or radioactive gases which release from the dry storage canister. After the leak rate or concentration of helium or radioactive gases is measured, the integrity of the confinement boundary of the dry storage canister can be verified to further enhance the safety of the spent nuclear fuel dry storage.
LEAK DETECTOR SENSOR SYSTEMS USING TAG-SENSITIZED REFRIGERANTS
A leak detection system for a refrigerant circuit is provided. The refrigerant circuit is sealed and circulates a working fluid having a refrigerant (e.g., flammable refrigerant) and an oil. A reducing tag component is solubilized within the refrigerant. The leak detection system also includes a sensor for detecting the tag component if the refrigerant should leak from the refrigerant circuit. The sensor is highly sensitive to the tag component and thus enhanced detection is enabled. The tag component is stable in the working fluid and does not affect the flammability rating or performance of the refrigerant or oil. The tag component is present at a concentration of from about 50 ppm to about 35,000 ppm in the refrigerant. Methods of detecting leaks from refrigeration systems are also provided.
Apparatus, system and method for maintenance of a structure carrying a fluid
A method and apparatus are for maintaining a structure for carrying a fluid. In addition, a method, apparatus and system are for detecting leakage from a structure carrying a fluid. The methods include: providing a jacket covering at least a portion of a structure carrying a fluid, the jacket forming a pocket between the jacket and the structure, the pocket having an inlet and an outlet; injecting a drive fluid into the pocket in a flow through the inlet; and moving a potentially harmful fluid in the pocket with the flow of injected drive fluid out of the pocket through the outlet. The method may further include detecting the potentially harmful fluid by use of a detector downstream of the pocket. The described apparatuses and/or the system may be for performing one or more of the methods.
Method for box leak detection and leak detection system
This application provides a method for box leak detection and a leak detection system, and relates to the field of leak detection technologies. The method for box leak detection may include: filling a box under test with a tracer gas, where the box under test has a plurality of positions under test; and measuring a leak rate at each position under test. Leak detection may be performed on each position under test of the box under test. In this way, not only a specific leak position can be determined, so that leak-proof treatment may be subsequently performed on the leak position in a targeted manner, but also the leak rate at each position under test can be measured, providing a basis for a level of to-be-taken leak-proof measures and whether to take leak-proof measures, thereby improving accuracy of box leak detection.
Determining Fluid Reservoir Connectivity Using Nanowire Probes
Systems and methods of fabricating and functionality patterned nanowire probes that are stable under fluid reservoir conditions and have imageable contrast are provided. Optical imaging and deconstruction methods and systems are also provided that are capable of determining the distribution of nanowires of a particular pattern to determine the mixing between or leakage from fluid reservoirs.
HIGH PRESSURE TANK, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HIGH PRESSURE TANK, AND INSPECTION METHOD OF SEALING CHARACTERISTIC

A conical surface part of the inclined surface may be a conical surface of a truncated cone, and may be inclined such that a radially outer end thereof approaches an opening side. The corner part may be a corner formed between the inclined surface and the annular groove, and may function as a sealing surface with the liner. The annular groove may be a part that connects the inclined surface to an outer surface part, and may be a part that is hollowed toward the opening side relative to the inclined surface.
