LEAK DETECTOR

A leak detector assembly for use with a backflow prevention device includes a housing defining a passageway for receiving a fluid. A flap assembly couples to the housing for generating a low flow error signal indicating minimal fluid passing through the passageway and a fully actuated error signal indicating significant fluid passing through the passageway. The flap assembly includes a flap mounted in the passageway such that significant flow of the fluid moves the flap to generate the fully actuated error signal. The flap assembly also includes a sensing element on the flap to determine a presence of the fluid without movement of the flap to generate the low flow error signal based on a low flow of the fluid.

Water leak early detection system and method
09810599 · 2017-11-07 ·

An early leak-detection warning system is disclosed, including an early leak-detection device having a processor operably configured to execute instructions for monitoring a reservoir for a potential undetected leak. The early leak-detection device determines a rate of water loss for the reservoir; determines an expected rate of water loss for the reservoir based on at least one predetermined factor; and compares the rate of water loss to the expected rate of water loss. In response to the rate of water loss exceeding the expected rate of water loss by a predetermined threshold, the system determines that there may be a leak associated with the reservoir.

A flow detector for detecting flow rates of fluid in pipes by measuring the temperature of the pipe and the ambient temperature and determining from the signals whether there is a flow in the pipe, by the shape of the temperature signals without providing any heat input to the pipe or fluid.

Method and system for detecting a false alarm event in gas detection

A gas-detecting apparatus, having a gas inlet and a gas outlet, for detecting a false alarm is disclosed. The gas-detecting apparatus comprises a control module, a sensor module, and an air chamber. In an example embodiment, the sensor module is electrically connected with the control module. The sensor module has a sensor inlet and a sensor outlet. The sensor inlet is fluidly coupled to the gas inlet of the gas-detecting apparatus. The air chamber has an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein the air inlet is fluidly coupled to the gas inlet of the gas-detecting apparatus and the air outlet is fluidly coupled to the gas outlet. The control module is configured to receive a first sensing signal for a first level of gas from the sensor module and determine whether magnitude of the first sensing signal is higher than a first threshold value. In an instance when the magnitude of the first sensing signal is higher than the first threshold value, the control module causes the air chamber to supply ambient air to the sensor module through the sensor inlet of the sensor module.

System and method for compressor leak detection

A method for leak detection in a system including a compressor. A first pressure differential is determined in the system via a first pressure differential indicator (PDI). The first pressure differential is converted into a first flow measurement. A second flow measurement is determined downstream of the compressor using a second PDI. The first flow measurement and the second flow measurement are compared to determine whether a leak exists between the first PDI and the second PDI.

Devices, systems and methods for leak detection/identification are provided herein. Also provided are devices, systems and methods for monitoring and/or measuring fluid usage. In some aspects, a system comprising a sensor, a processing system, and a platform are provided. In some aspects, the sensor may be coupled to a spinning device. The sensor can be configured to detect fluid data, which can comprise, for example, displacement data of liquid and/or movement data associated with the liquid in a container and/or flow data associated with a flow of fluid in a conduit. The processing system can be coupled with the sensor and configured to communicate the fluid data. The platform can comprise an application communicatively coupled to one or more databases storing evaluation data (e.g., known pattern data) and configured to receive the fluid data and determine if there is a leak.

TURBINE
20210355863 · 2021-11-18 ·

A turbine comprising: a turbine housing, a wastegate passage connecting the turbine inlet and the turbine outlet; and a wastegate valve comprising a movable valve member. The wastegate valve has an open state in which a first gas may pass between a turbine inlet a turbine outlet via the wastegate passage and a closed state in which the valve member substantially prevents said first gas from passing between the turbine inlet and the turbine outlet. The valve member is mounted to an actuation member that passes through a bore of the turbine housing. The actuation member is movable to move the wastegate valve between the open and closed states. The turbine comprises a fluid conduit configured to deliver a second gas to the bore to form a fluidic seal between the bore and the actuation member to substantially prevent the passage of said first gas along the bore.
