Gasoline blend spot sampling system and method
09651459 · 2017-05-16 · ·

A gasoline blend spot sampling system and method including an adjustable volume mechanism for retaining an adjustable volume of gasoline for sampling, a coolant system integrated with the adjustable volume mechanism, and a sample collection assembly using a blunt-end tube for use with an open-mouthed bottle. Various three-way valves are actuated to route gasoline through various stages of a sampling process, from a gasoline fast loop to a purge loop to a gasoline capture stage to a sample bottling stage.

Apparatus, System and Method for Selecting a Target Material
20170010188 · 2017-01-12 · ·

This disclosure is directed to a device and a system for picking a target analyte of a suspension. A picker introduces at least one force, such as by a magnetic gradient and/or by a pressure gradient, to extract the target analyte from a specimen. The magnetic gradient may be introduced by a magnet, such as a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, and the pressure gradient may be introduced by a pump which moves within a fluid-primed cannula to create the pressure gradient, thereby drawing the target analyte into the cannula. The picker may also expel the target analyte onto or into a substrate, such as a well plate, after the target analyte has been drawn into the picker by reversing the pressure gradient or removing the magnetic gradient.

CRYOGENIC SAMPLING SYSTEM
20250251316 · 2025-08-07 ·

A cryogenic sampling system for refrigerated hydrocarbon fluids is provided. The sampling system may utilize a circulation motor to drive movement of a hydrocarbon fluid, for example propane, from a source to a circulation chamber. The hydrocarbon fluid may circulate within the circulation chamber in a cyclical fashion until a portion of the circulating fluid is drawn as a small-volume sample by a sample pump. The circulation chamber may be in thermal contact with and cool the sample pump. The small-volume samples taken by the sample pump may be directed to a sample chamber supplied with a back pressure. Thus, a sample of the hydrocarbon fluid in its liquid phase may be taken from the source and transported to the sample chamber without allowing the hydrocarbon to vaporize (i.e., transition to its gaseous phase) via warming. The sample chamber may be transported to a laboratory for analysis of the sample.

SAMPLE PREPARATION DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

A syringe-like sample preparation device is disclosed. The syringe-like sample preparation device comprises a syringe body having a proximate end, a distal end and a syringe body cavity between the proximate end and the distal end; a plunger located at the proximate end of the syringe body and movable along the syringe body cavity; and an overflow tube at the distal end of the syringe body and extending into the body cavity of the syringe body; and a sample purification tip at the distal end of the syringe body, wherein the sample purification tip comprises a sample binding matrix.

SALT SAMPLING SYSTEM AND APPARATUS

A salt sampling apparatus includes a containment cell and plunger. The containment cell defines a cell volume, an upper cell mating feature and a lower cell mating feature within the cell volume, and a through-bore extending completely through the containment cell. The plunger is arrangeable within the cell volume along the through-bore and defines a shaft portion, and an upper plunger mating feature and a lower plunger mating feature. The lower plunger mating feature defines a well about the shaft portion configured to receive a volume of a molten salt material. The plunger is moveable between a first position in which the well is positioned substantially out of the cell volume, and a second position in which the well is positioned substantially in the cell volume with the well sealed within the containment volume by the engagement of the containment cell and the plunger.
