CRYOGENIC SAMPLING SYSTEM
A cryogenic sampling system for refrigerated hydrocarbon fluids is provided. The sampling system may utilize a circulation motor to drive movement of a hydrocarbon fluid, for example propane, from a source to a circulation chamber. The hydrocarbon fluid may circulate within the circulation chamber in a cyclical fashion until a portion of the circulating fluid is drawn as a small-volume sample by a sample pump. The circulation chamber may be in thermal contact with and cool the sample pump. The small-volume samples taken by the sample pump may be directed to a sample chamber supplied with a back pressure. Thus, a sample of the hydrocarbon fluid in its liquid phase may be taken from the source and transported to the sample chamber without allowing the hydrocarbon to vaporize (i.e., transition to its gaseous phase) via warming. The sample chamber may be transported to a laboratory for analysis of the sample.
LIQUID SAMPLER FOR FAST CAPTURE OF INITIAL VOLUME OF A LIQUID FLOW
A liquid sampling device and a kit of parts for assembling the same are disclosed. The device comprises a casing with a fluid inlet fluidly connected to a sample outlet and a fluid outlet. A head portion of an elongated closure member, slidably supported in the casing, is configured to obstruct the liquid flow through the fluid outlet when the closure member is slid into a sampling position, whereas a lower stem portion of the closure member is configured to obstruct the liquid flow through the sample outlet when the closure member is slid into a diverting position. An upper portion of the stem comprises a longitudinal slit that is stretching across the sample outlet when the closure member is slid into the sampling position. A lifting element is adapted to move the closure member from the sampling position to the diverting position while the initial volume of the liquid flow is being collected.
Sampling apparatus and method
An apparatus for sampling a fluid from a flowline comprises a housing and a pressure control barrier moveably mounted in the housing. The apparatus comprises a sample chamber within the housing on a first side of the pressure control barrier and being fluidly connectable to the flowline for receiving a fluid sample from the flowline, and a pressure control chamber within the housing on an opposite second side of the pressure control barrier, wherein pressure applied within the pressure control chamber controls pressure of the fluid sample within the sample chamber. The apparatus comprises a guided wave radar device for determining a property of the fluid sample within the sample chamber.
Small volume liquid sampler
A device for sampling an initial volume of a liquid flow is disclosed which comprises an inlet conduit, an outlet conduit, and valve casing. The valve casing has a passageway formed therethrough. A sample outlet extends through the valve casing and into the passageway. A valve structure is arranged for axial movement in the valve casing. A gate of the valve structure obstructs the passageway and prevents an initial volume of the liquid flow from being transferred to the outlet conduit when the valve structure is moved to a sampling position. A stem of the valve structure obstructs the sample outlet without obstructing the passageway when the valve structure is moved to a diverting position. At least one elongated groove is formed in a surface of the gate and extends into the stem such that the initial volume is directed through the sample outlet and towards a receptacle when the valve structure is moved to the sampling position. A lifting member moves the valve structure from the sampling position to the diverting position.
