The photometer further comprises an ultraviolet (UV) source (32) configured to generate a second plurality of pulses (38) of UV radiation for conveyance to a UV detector (36), at least two of the second plurality of pulses being of different wavelength. A path selection arrangement (22, 42-50) is configured to selectively convey different ones of the second plurality of pulses (38) to one of the sample gas and the UV detector (36). The photometer further comprises processing circuitry coupled to the IR source (20), the UV source (32), the IR detector (26), the UV detector (36) and the path selection arrangement (22, 42-50). The processing circuitry is configured to (i) select the wavelength to be used for a given UV pulse of the second plurality of pulses (38), (ii) receive a plurality of detection signals from each of the IR detector (26) and the UV detector (36) and (iii) based on the detection signals, determine a concentration of at least one component of the sample gas. A method for analysing the composition of a sample gas is also disclosed.
HYDRATION MONITOR AND METHODS OF USE
The present disclosure relates to optical methods and devices based on pulsate behavior of blood and optical absorption spectroscopy to measure the level of water and/or other substances or compounds, such as an alcohol or lipid, in the blood and the tissues surrounding blood vessels and arteries.
Gas delivery and nitrogen dioxide measurement system

Various combinations of embodiments of the system and the method are provided.
A METHOD FOR ASSESSING NITROGEN NUTRITIONAL STATUS IN PLANTS BY VISIBLE-TO-SHORTWAVE INFRARED REFLECTANCE SPECTROSCOPY OF CARBOHYDRATES
The present disclosure discloses a method for evaluating the nutritional status in plants, using visible-to-shortwave (VIS-SWIR) infrared reflectance spectroscopy of carbohydrates, particularly in almond trees. The method comprises obtaining a dry plant sample (i.e. leaves, branches and roots), digesting and grinding it to a powder, capturing predetermined spectral data of the ground plant sample, correlating said spectral data to predetermined materials and evaluating said nitrogen status of said plants according to predetermined multivariate statistical models. The data obtained from this method facilitates crop management and fertilization by providing the nitrogen status of the plants based on non-structural carbohydrates.
Deformulation techniques for deducing the composition of a material from a spectrogram
The present disclosure relates to techniques for deformulating the spectra of arbitrary compound formulations such as polymer formulations into their chemical components. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to obtaining an initial set of spectra for a plurality of samples comprising pure samples and composite samples, constructing a basis set of spectra for a plurality of pure samples based on the initial set of spectra, and providing or outputting the basis set of spectrum. The basis set of spectra is constructed in an iterative process that attempts to decompose, using a decomposition algorithm or model, the spectrum from the initial set of spectra in order to differentiate the pure samples from the composite samples. The basis set of spectra may then be used to deduce the composition of a material from a spectrogram.
