Hand therapy kit with presence sensors
A hand therapy kit includes hand therapy modules and a housing having defined receptacles in which the hand therapy modules are removably disposed. A module presence sensor is disposed in each receptacle to detect the presence or absence of the corresponding hand therapy module. A microprocessor disposed in the hand therapy kit sends the module presence sensor data to a remote computer that analyzes the module presence sensor data to determine whether the patient is complying with a prescribed treatment regimen. The remote computer can generate warnings, alerts, and/or notifications when noncompliance is detected.
METHOD FOR INDUCING A MEDITATIVE STATE
The present invention is a method and device for inducing or promoting a meditative state.
Clamp Apparatus
A clamp apparatus for clamping an article, the clamp apparatus includes a first finger and a second finger with a biased flexible connecting member wherein the bias urges the first and second fingers apart with structure to limit the bias, the connecting member is affixed to one end of each finger wherein a V shape is formed as between the first and second fingers and the connecting member. Also included in the clamp apparatus is a locking fastener for overcoming the connecting member urging via manually selectively bringing the first and second fingers together, plus a first extension with a first shoe disposed in the first finger and a second extension with second shoe disposed in the second finger, wherein operationally the first and second shoe portions act to clamp the article to the extent of the locking fastener.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR RESTORING SPINAL MOVEMENT AND FUNCTION
A spinal unloading system generally includes a harness configured to wrap around a human patient's lumbar or cervical region and including multiple attachment points for connecting elastomeric bands. Elastomeric bands exert pulling forces in a variety of directions, depending on specific placement, and serve to unload the spine and/or provide resistance while performing the method.
Sizing device, and methods of manufacture and use thereof
The present invention relates to a sizing device and includes a sizing frame and frame handle for the evaluation of the fitting of a therapy device to a patient. The sizing frame corresponds to the contact region of a therapy device and the inner area of the sizing frame corresponds to the target therapy area. The sizing device is designed to provide a visual indication of correct or incorrect fit of the sizing device and the subsequent corresponding therapy device.
Method and apparatus for variable knee flexion support
A system for promoting knee flexion may comprise a support bar and a plurality of pads removably mounted thereto, such that sequential use of the plurality of pads may progressively allow a knee joint to move through an increased range of motion.
Spine mobilization system
A spine mobilization apparatus capable of supporting a spine segment to allow posteroanterior or rotational mobilization of one or more vertebra of the spine.
DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING BOTH ARMS OF A USER
The invention relates a device for supporting two arms 4 of a user 2 wherein the device has two arm support elements 6, each of which has an arm shell 10 for placing on an arm 4, at least one passive actuator 26, which is configured to apply a force to at least one of the arm support elements 6, and at least one counter bearing 14 for the force to be applied, which comprises at least one counter bearing element 16 and at least two force transmission elements 18, which are configured to transfer a counter force from each of the arm support elements to the counter bearing element 16,
wherein the force transmission elements 18 are arranged on the counter bearing element 16 such that they can be moved relative to the counter bearing element 16, in particular they can be rotated about at least one rotational axis.
Self-heated consumer spa products and applications thereof
The following description relates generally to self-heated consumer spa products heated by means of a prolonged exothermic chemical reaction for various therapeutic and/or spa applications for applying heat to portions of a person's body.
Method and apparatus for detecting a status of CPR chest compressions without using a stand-alone compression meter
A method and associated apparatus (12) detects the presence and quality of chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by analyzing existing signals in automated external defibrillator (AED) devices without using a stand-alone CPR meter. The method includes analyzing both a thoracic impedance signal and a common-mode current signal, each of which can be measured with standard AED pads (18). The method applies criteria to the measured signals, the criteria being used to select which of the measured signals to use for providing CPR chest compression detections.
