SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING FEMALE INCONTINENCE AND PELVIC NERVE DYSFUNCTION
Systems and methods for neuromodulation of a female patient suffering from a pelvic condition, such as incontinence, are disclosed. A mechanical stimulus such as pressure, tension, traction, friction, or vibration for example can be applied to one, two, or more clitoral structures sufficient to cause a physiologic stimulus or inhibition, such as neuromodulation to treat or prevent the pelvic condition.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED VAGINAL CLEANING
Embodiments provide systems, apparatus and methods for cleaning a vagina. Embodiments include a handle; and a cleaning bulb coupled to the handle, the cleaning bulb having a shape including a plurality of ridges and grooves extending longitudinally along a length of the cleaning bulb, the cleaning bulb formed from a ridged material and adapted to be used to wipe the walls of a vagina upon insertion thereof. Numerous additional aspects are disclosed.
THERAPEUTIC APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR EFFECTING AUTOMATED PARALLEL MOBILIZATION OF A MUSCLE OR TENDON
A therapeutic apparatus and a method for providing parallel mobilization treatment of a muscle or a tendon in a limb utilizing the therapeutic apparatus.
The therapeutic apparatus includes a driven endless belt which travels along a path, with a plurality of contact elements projecting from and spaced along the machine direction of the endless belt. The apparatus can provide parallel mobilization treatment to a tender location by releasably securing the therapeutic apparatus to a limb overlaying the tender location, and activating the therapeutic apparatus to drive the contact elements along a path wherein the contact elements contact and effect parallel mobilization of a muscle or a tendon at the tender location as the contact elements travel along an interaction segment of the path.
PORTABLE SYSTEM FOR THE PROPHYLAXIS OF DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS
A system is disclosed for stimulating venous and arterial circulation in a patient to prevent deep vein thrombosis, which includes a first inflatable garment sleeve configured to be wrapped around the left calf of the patient and having a first air input tube extending from an exterior surface thereof, a second inflatable garment sleeve configured to be wrapped around the right calf of the patient and having a second air input tube extending from an exterior surface of the second garment sleeve, a portable pump for cyclically inflating the first and second garment sleeves, and a bifurcated tube assembly for connecting the portable pump to the first and second air input tubes of the first and second garment sleeves.
PORTABLE, REUSABLE, AND DISPOSABLE INTERMITTENT PNEUMATIC COMPRESSION SYSTEM
The present invention discloses a deep vein thrombosis (“DVT”) device that is portable, tubeless, and battery-operated, which ensures that the patient will have maximum mobility during recovery. The DVT device provides a pneumatically controlled bladder portion, which is actuated by an electronically controlled air pump, where the pump/bladder combination is enclosed in a “pocket” of a wrap or cuff during use. All pump, battery, and control components are protectively housed in a plastic case that is permanently attached to the bladder portion. Once the pump/bladder combination is placed in the “pocket” the wrap or cuff will be sealed. The wraps or cuffs are single use, disposable garments designed to provide an absorbent barrier during use, where the bladder portion and air pump remain clean during use and can be reused by the patient or hospital staff. Tabs or extensions may be used to secure the pump/bladder combination after insertion into the “pocket” of the wrap or cuff.
Systems and methods for automated fluid response measurement
A device is provided for automatically assessing functional hemodynamic properties of a patient is provided, the device comprising: a housing; an ultrasound unit coupled to the housing and adapted for adducing ultrasonic waves into the patient at a vessel; a detector adapted to sense signals obtained as a result of adducing ultrasonic waves into the patient at the vessel and to record the; and a processor adapted for receiving the recorded signals as data and transforming the data for output at an interface. Other devices, systems, methods, and/or computer-readable media may be provided in relation to assessing functional hemodynamics of a patient.
Skin cleansing device having interchangeable cleansing heads
A skin cleansing device has a base body and a removable cleansing head. The base body houses a vacuum pump and has a mount for connecting to the removable cleansing head. The mount has an opening into the base body and a support surface. The removable cleansing head has a collection portion and a mounting portion. The collection portion defines an inlet and an internal cavity. The mounting portion has a stem defining a channel fluidly connected to the internal cavity. The cleansing head is removably connectable to the base body with the stem being configured to be received in the opening of the mount. The vacuum pump is configured to generate a fluid flow through the internal cavity and the channel into the base body such that a suction force is generated at the inlet.
Disposable nasal and eye wash dispenser
An apparatus for rinsing sinuses or eyes, comprising a hand crushable container containing saline solution, and a dispenser configured to make a liquid tight seal with the container at one end, and a liquid tight seal with a nostril or an eye socket at the other end.
SYSTEMS, APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR PELVIC FLOOR MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT
Embodiments of the invention provide systems, methods and apparatus for pelvic floor exercise. The invention includes an anchor adapted for insertion into a user's body; a cord coupled to the anchor and adapted to extend external to the user's body when the anchor is inserted internal to the user's body; and a weight system adapted to be removably coupled to the cord. Numerous additional aspects are disclosed.
Compression device especially for preventing deep vein thrombosis
A compression device particularly suited for DVT prophylaxis includes a disposable wrap and a re-usable controller removably mounted on the wrap to apply a tensioning force to the wrap when it is encircling the limb of a patient. The wrap includes an RF chip with a unique identifier and the controller includes an RF sensor and processor to authenticate the wrap before commencing a compression cycle. A kiosk is provided for storing a plurality of wraps for use by patients and a plurality of controllers to be used with any of the wraps. The processor of each controller can control an electric motor in the controller to tighten and loosen the wrap according to a three-stage DVT prophylaxis protocol that produces an optimum blood flow velocity. An accelerometer and software/firmware in the controller can also measure and summarize patient activity while wearing the device.
