A detector which is attached to an installation surface of an installation target and has an attachment surface facing the installation surface includes a detection space into which a detection target flows; a light-emitting portion and a light-receiving portion which detect the detection target flowing into the detection space; a casing which accommodates the light-emitting portion, the light-receiving portion and the detection space; and a rib, an inclined surface, a light shielding portion, a casing side inflow opening, a substrate side outflow opening, a casing side outflow opening, a back plate, and the like which induce gas outside the casing, which is gas containing the detection target, to flow into the detection space inside the casing from an opposite side of the attachment surface of the casing and to flow out from the side of the attachment surface of the casing in a direction substantially orthogonal to the attachment surface.

Identification of anomaly on a detector
11288951 · 2022-03-29 · ·

A method, system and devices assisting detection of a cover/cap. The method includes monitoring detection chamber readings from a plurality of detectors and identifying an anomaly in the detection chamber readings. Further, the one or more detectors from the plurality of detectors each having an anomaly are determined from the detection chamber readings. An alert is executed based on the anomaly in the detection chamber readings.

A fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system having a first window, a second window positioned relative to the first window thereby defining a sensing volume between the first window and the second window, and a structure positioned relative to the first window and the second window configured to cause fluid flowing into the sensing volume from an environment within which the fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system is placed to swirl within the sensing volume.

Method to minimize the temperature drift of optical turbidity sensors

A sensor suitable for optical turbidity measurements is described. The sensor is suitable for use in a water-bearing domestic electrical appliance (e.g. washing machine or dishwasher) and allows the temperature dependence of the turbidity measurements obtained by means of a first light detector to be compensated for. To this end, the sensor implements, in addition to a turbidity-measuring path along which a measuring-light beam is sent through a measuring space containing the turbid medium to a first light detector, a reference measuring path along which a reference light beam is transported to a second light detector which is thermally coupled with the first light detector. A heat-equalizing element can ensure that any temperature differences between the two light detectors are minimized. Both light-measuring paths can run in some regions inside the same solid-material light-conducting structure.

Fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system and method

A fire extinguishing agent concentration measuring system including a first window, a second window positioned relative to the first window thereby defining a sensing volume between the first window and the second window, a tube configured to port a flow including the agent from an environment through the sensing volume, and a fluid motion mechanism in operable communication with the tube configured to cause the flow through the tube and through the sensing volume.

FABRY-PEROT SPECTROMETER-BASED SMOKE DETECTOR

A smoke detector includes a laser light source to provide incident light. The smoke detector also includes a Fabry-Perot etalon to transmit some incoming light, which is produced from the incident light, as transmitted light. Smoke particles in a cavity of the Fabry-Perot etalon affect an intensity of one or more wavelengths of the transmitted light.

AEROSOL TRANSMISSOMETER WITH AN IN-PROCESS TRANSFER STANDARD
20210333206 · 2021-10-28 ·

A transmissometer and method for determining a transmissivity of an atmosphere within a chamber. A chamber contains the atmosphere. A light source generates a test beam and a light detector detects the test beam. A periscope is movable between a first position which allows the test beam to pass through the atmosphere in the chamber and into the light detector and a second position in which the test beam is deflected to pass into the light detector without passing through the atmosphere in the chamber. A processor determines the transmissivity of the atmosphere from a transmissivity measurement for the test beam obtained by the light detector when the periscope is in the first position and a transfer standard obtained at the light detector when the periscope is in the second position.
